oh, not yet. we're still planning. and, we're planning to stay at Grand Paragon Hotel, at Jalan Harimau. would it be hard for us to get to the bus stations?

i think down in singapore in serangoon or sembawang road i forgot what name is it
theres alot of backpacker hotels there which are cheap
25sgd a night. google it.

larkin station is further than your hotel .. biggrin.gif Grand Paragon is quite near d to the check point. i would catch a taxi and nego to cross over .. it'll be cheaper i think since you're in a group ..


or take the taxi to the checkpoint and board the bus to cross over .. it depends on where you're going after that ... if you take the bus, you can straight away take the MRT to your destination, else by taxi might charge you more. smile.gif

hmm.. but let's say we're in Singapore till the wee hours in the morning, how do we come back to Johor? the public transports will be closed rite?

there's always a cab around but hard to find cheaper alternatives at those hours.

Hey, I've read about the hotel not "clean".

Btw, I don't see how you can save cost by staying in JB hotel. Besides, around the JB city area not quite safe too -snatch thief, robbery etc.

Grand Paragon promo rate starts from RM$220, right? If you search around(online), you can find budget hotel in S'pore at less than S$100/room/night. You may also try search for hostel/guesthouse/backpacker inn.

thinking of going to singapore this coming december.........
for a family of 3 with 1 infant ( 10 month old) please suggest a place to stay or just stay in jb and go there every day like let say 3-4 days........
do we need to have passport?.......if wanna stay there for 3 days......
whats the main attraction there.......
1) shopping
2) place to go/visit

planning to go to s'pore this christmas. any recommended place to stay? (the cheaper, the better) will be going there with bunch of friends.

Think so will be staying at Hotel81 or Fragrance Hotel.

Cheapest will be those B&B surrounding Little India opposite Sim Lim Plaza..Price start from S$25.

For budget & clean hotels, Yeah..Hotel81 & Gragrant groups..lotsa them in Geylang.. My favourite = Hotel81 Palace at Lorong16...super clean but room abit small similar to Genting first world...RM100/nite nia rclxms.gif ..But Lrg16 very lively at nite wan..lotsa Ah Kua &...ahemmmm

The hawker ctr in front of Shell Lrg 16..very good place to cuci mata drool.gif

Since you're going to be in a group, why not stay in YMCA Singapore as it's located on orchard road itself.

Saves you the trouble from getting transport back and forth from Johor. tongue.gif

i suggest to stay at South East Asia Hotel near old temple.

5 mins walk to bugis junction/sim lim.

1) Fernloft hostel(in Chinatown, River Valley, East Coast)
2) Sleepy Sam's bed and breakfast.

Sound & look like pretty old hotel...If sked of Geylang Ah Kua, can try Hotel 81 opposite Sim lim square liao..Super new, boutique quality room but not really cheap..

yes is very old hotel, but lokasi very nais one.. got the incense smell, i like!

but if i go with gal, sure i stay back my usual hotel on orchard, Four Seasons. Oni sgd300 a nite off peak... thumbup.gif
