If a person dislikes his own race, is it wrong? I just hate my own race... not gonna mention what race but I just dislike people from my race because most of them have attitude problems, are racists and always stereotype other races and also can't speak proper english

Do you guys think its wrong to dislike ur own race? Like do you think its a betrayal?

Everyone is different. Some are good at certain things like Maths, Science and also language skills. Perhaps it is the way how the individual's brain is wired. Or his/her surroundings (nurture).

Actually speaking about this, I find that the people like me from races other than my own whom also dislike their own race is not racist at all and actually most of them will agree on the term Bangsa Malaysia

Honestly, in times when I can't depend on people from my own race, it is then I realise people from other race will welcome me cos those whom know me know I am not bias towards other races

And honestly I don't hate everyone of my race... just a big majority of them cos I have encountered so many people with this kind of problems

But i disagree with the English teacher and profiency things. If you stay in England for 3 years, you will be more proficient than those who speak English in Malaysia for 10 years, eventhough you got the same grade A. One thing too, the educational system in Malaysia didnt emphasize more on proficiency,more on memorizing things and the 3M.

then again it also depends on how you act towards your own race, act like a dumbf*** expect to be treated like one.

i think its just your environment, cause i have no problems with it. in fact most of my friends have problems with other races, because of getting cheated, bashed up, robbed, etc etc..............

but what i say is very true, if you go overseas most of the time you'd be sticking with your own race or if you stay in a pretty much racial environment youd stick with your own race. hate your people?

sorry to say this, but that bolded part is just plain old wrong. i happen to know people who never left malaysia, n speak english very well. and i've seen people who stayed in UK, USA for 2-5 years. yet they cant make a full english sentence.

Learning english or any language requires the intention to learn it. just by being somewhere doesnt mean you'll learn it. yes it is a factor, an important one, but never the less it is not the only factor.

look, that's the whole problem with this kind of shit. when you lot label someone like that as 'traitor' you see your own race as a gang, and that's where all racism starts from. my gang is better, smarter, richer, more noble, etc than your gang.

its good that this one fellow sees beyond this myopia (although i do agree, hating is a tad far) but at least, he (or she) isn't a racist. same can't be said to some others, however much one thinks himself as not.

You are right. Its one of the factor. But im only mentioning about the TS saying how a student who have the same teacher but have different proficiency in English. The people you've seen might not speaking with other native English users when they're in UK or USA. Yet, their intention to learn to speak is low. Is it the enviromental factor like a forummer said? Back to TS, question, indeed im feeling that the environment affect how TS looks at his race. G's and Media is one of the factor too. Generalization? Its like a plague in the society. If you mention about certain race, automaticly an event of the specific race pop up in their mind.

well im not refering to only us Malaysians, but basically the issue of one being against his or her own race. yes its good to drop the racist issue and lets all shake hands and be humans, but thing is the world doesnt work this way. in certain environments you are partially forced to be racist and thats purely just to survive, not with the luxury of acting in order of human rights.

basically shouting anti-racist over the internet and a non-hostile environment is simple, but i know when the cards are down and the other races hate me just because i am what i am, then i have to do stick to my own people to survive. ive seen it happen with students, people, relatives.

frankly a lot of people say they are not racist, but saying no when its hostile is a different matter. which is where most of us actually fail and start going racist. ive seen that happen to friends, relatives and all. they are not racist but are pressured to when things turn hostile.

I have seen some of my own race that often see themselves as victims. They suffer from siege mentality. Wherever they look, they think others are out to get them.

It makes me question myself a bit if I am oblivious of what is going around me.

I am a free thinker but I do believe in God. Why I don't have a religion? Because I don't want to live my life believing in something that is a lie (maybe my religion could be a wrong teaching). So if God one day ask me, why I defy everything and refuse to believe in religion. Well, I will live my life knowing I have sticked to my principle and I defend it...

Hence if u wanna ask about race... I know this seems stupid to say and it may sound naive. But I rather fight for what I believe is right then to turn my back on myself in the times when I am being threatened
