thinking to wrap with leather or Coolmat(?) ...
any idea? need alot budget?

yes its hard to maintain but, when comes to comfort in long journey, that seat and cushion wins.. leather wrapped seat always got pain or uncomfortable one, u may go do leather wrap at normal car cushion shops... bear price lah.. its must be more than 2k....

so is that how the SE will look like? or the pic only shows a 'one-off' production for the royal?

My Sona today is getting worse, brake harder to almost completely stop, front brake(left) Lockup..scraping brake noise at Low speed. Maybe brake pad, wheelbearing or faulty brake rotor...

Have to park my car inside car porch..borrow other car to work. Gonna send to SC on this Saturday to get the problem rectify.

Does you car produce squeeking noise when u steer very fast at a corner, I ask the work shop service center and they say almost all Persona like that. He said something to do with the steering coil loosen. Do u have this problem ?

Yes, mine..steering whenever turn left or right to almost max, got "thuuddd" noise. It maybe steering or drive shaft balancer..i ignore it because it is common problem for Persona.

BUT, another problem which is bugging me the brake issue. Scraping noise whenever brake hard at Low speed, when speed decrease to almost completely stop..very Loud scraping noise(something like metal is rubbing against disc). Found the possible root case from the net, some Persona owner said they disc/rotor is touching the steel..

Brakes Make A Rhythmic Scraping Noise At Low Speeds:When you step on the brakes, you hear a scrapping noise in time with your speed. You may or may not hear the noise when you are braking from a higher speed, but it will become audible when the car slows down. The sound may start suddenly and get progressively worse.
Possible causes:
Brake pad/shoe material completely worn away. Metal backing plate rubbing on brake rotor/drums: Replace the brake pads/shoes as required.
Loose or bad front wheel bearings: Replace bad wheel bearings. Repack and retighten loose wheel bearings.
Brake rotors have excess run out or are warped. Brake drums are out of round or warped: Machine or replace front disc brake rotors. Machine or replace rear brake drums.

Well I have a different problem with the brakes, almost everytime after rain (at night), the next morning when I drive the brakes produce an 'eeik' noise, its not like I brake so sudden or very rapid but only happens after rain. It wont happen during hot weather.

The servicemen also said this problem is quite common "First batch Persona macam macam lah", the indian guy said . I did believe him later on cuz he know I dun believe this so he demonstrate to me this problem with another Persona (waiting for service)

Just got my Persona yesterday. A manual transmission. Whenever i change gear, my car will suddenly rev a little right afterthat. (Step clutch > Let go of right foot > change gear)

But if i (Let go of right foot > step clutch > change gear). The problem doesn't occur. Is this normal? I've been use to driving manual cars before, albeit old cars. So i'm not too sure whether this happens to newer manual cars.

That's because the brake pad, rotor and disc not Dry...

It happened everytime during car wash. After wash, drive the car hundred metres and dry the brakes before leave it for a long time...try to hose water towards brakes, don't move..Leave it there and the next day, u move it..the caliper jammed..

i ask the tech to fix it for me they said cannot fix 1

thats Campro engine's design...heard that this can increase the fuel consumption (?)
last time i drove my friend's Gen2 also like that 1
its normal, don worry

ehhhh..... manual also got problem???? i thought auto transmission not stable, got that and this problem all..thought wanna get manual also got problem problem problem....

guys advise me.. manual or auto..... i want stable one!

Added on June 4, 2008, 9:13 amso your car is basically first batch ready? anyway, its depend on your usage too.... if u too frequent play with brake, then its need to be replace once got symptoms..... thts better..... its look like complaints from here, my iswara is better than persona only.... i mean in the mean of engine, transmission stability......

actually it is not a problem actually just have get to used to change gear in different way which do not step on the gas earlier...

thats not a problem for that manual gear~
its normal characteristic and design for Campro engine
driven that MT Persona for more than half yr
can said there is no problem for the engine at all, stable
