Just to add to Suk's comment.

Tot the car havent even send up for 1st service..already start reving hard & forcefully run all the virgin engines & compartments real harsh, guess its gonna age quicker.
No matter of what car..it is advisable not to push one nEW VIRGIN car to the max...engine is not even fluid or at optimum performance.
I tot all manuals will advise the new owner accordingly..be it Japs or Euro car.
Rule #1 . Do not rev hard for 1st 1,000km
Rule #2 . Not to overly brake hard.
Rule #3. Car is in minimum performace during 1st 1,000km.

thank for advice.

Hi every Persona owners outthere,
I'm a 3 weeks old red Persona SE owner. Just send the car for 1st 1k km service this morning. FC was quite high when first drove the car (around 9.8 liter per 100 km). Now I'm driving slow and the FC drop to 7.8 liter per 100km. Already did high rev driving during last week on my way back from office at night, I drove around 90km per hour in the fast lane along TPM bukit jalil highway. Can't stand a Myvi flashing high lamp to me to give way. Press the pedal deeper to bring the rev around 5000 rpm and the car run up to 140 ++ km per hour within a flash, gosh ! can hear the engine roar and feel the power plus the stabiliy of the PERSONA rclxms.gif . Think that the Myvi driver also 'scared' by me and never follow near behind my back.
Previously I'm driving a kelisa manual, so feel that the FC of my new persona is very high which is almost consumed 40% more. But who cares, now the petrol price also drop rclxm9.gif ...So far very very satisfy with the PERSONA performance...stability (more stable than my sister vios), power, comfort...just the FC a bit high...drive slow nowadays...safety and save fuel...PROUD to be a PERSONA owner icon_rolleyes.gif .

RM 59,800 after minus insurance ncd around RM58k ++. Thinking of getting a Manual one at first, but only m-line available (no rear disc brake..drum brake unsafe & leceh for maintainance...brake shoe, leak oil.. ). Considered getting a GEN 2 also but the rooftop behind are low.

kleenx12.. as an SE owner urself, do u think its worth it 2 take an SE over the h-line??

u see, im planning 2 get a new persona sumwhere next yr.. i love how good looking a white persona is, so thinking of gettin a white h-line.. then the SE comes out, wit many attempting extras, such as the sporty looking leather seats n cruise control, but wit a slightly higher pricetag.. only thing is, i hate both of the SE colors, especially the red one.. but i feel i could live wit that blueish grey..

n even if its more expensive, when convert to loan, it wont make much of a difference in monthly installments.. so u think the SE's worth it 2 make me ditch my fav color, or should i juz stick 2 a white h-line??

The Persona certainly is a very powerful car for Proton (Malaysian made that is). Your RPM's pretty high for 140 tho, 5000 is a lot! The fastest I've driven is 180km/h and the RPM is only at 4200RPM, plus mine's a H-Line

Approximately RM400 for side wing mirrors, handles, door strips and skirts all over, for non metallic colours

I guess so! My colleague drives a white B-Line

But, word of advise. 17" I find it's a bit too large. I only saw one Persona in Kluang with a 17", it looks a bit odd as the car's very 'high'. You've to lower your suspension a little if you were to use 17", I mean from a practical point of view. 16" just nice!

mmm...i don't dare to say it's worth or not for u or not, but for me i think it's worth.

differences between H-line and SE around 3k - around rm 47 more every month for 7 years loan.

rm 3k you get - leather seat (some said half leather only), leather wrap steering, gear knob, body kit, smoked head light, waja rim, autocruise, finger place for opening the rear boot, 'SE' label at the back, silver door hander.

h-line
Leather seat - can upgrade around 1k or more for better one but the original one wasted and trade in won't get good price.. leather wrapped steering, gear knob (no need it's useless).
Body kit - around 1k can get better looking one but becareful not to get too low one for the front skirting or else you will need to be really slow to prevent scratch when get out from the parking bay.
Rim - the h-line sports rim looks better really. The sales person claims that waja one is the alloy rim harder but heavier = more fc.
Autocruise - only useful if u travel outstation, short distance you will find it dangerous in bumpy roads, bad wheather...and "P" driver beside you who will potentially cut in your driving line suddenly.

Colour selection - I will choose the Silver (darker one) or black if available for SE. The Blue haze looks nice for SE but have to wait about 1 months when I booked my car. (I have to trade in my car before yearend or else price drop another 1k - 2k.
So.... red la..I hate red colour when I'm in young age and prefer blue as first choice and never thought I will owning a red car in the future. But....
I am a MU supporter....red not bad at all, fantastic feeling when driving a red car really ( ferrari also red but will not dream to having one...).
If u choose the white one will be RM 450 cheaper bcoz it's a solid colour. The white colour in metallic actually is a light silver colour..advantage-scratches won't be noticed clearly, pros- dirts are very obvious and needs to wash car always.

thnx 4 the respond dude.. really appreciate ur detailed explanation..

n on most part, ure right, i agree wit u.. not much difference on monthly installments, i did some calculations on that myself.. n that leather interior, is much better looking.. the rims also agree wit u, the h-line ones looks much better.. im not really interested in the bodykit, coz i think the standard persona looks good already.. but the SE ones, looks quite nice also..

color's the main issue here.. i really want white.. saw once at a shopping complex b4 when theyre doin some promotions there, n havent been able 2 sleep since tongue.gif i want white, but yet i want those SE extras as well (minus the waja rims, that is biggrin.gif)..

ps kleenx12: i dont think auto cruise is 4 normal road use.. more suitable 4 highways use dude thumbup.gif

Aiya..there's instruction on the driver's door opening ma...210 for front, 190 for rear..follow the instruction to prevent tyres blown or get 'botak' faster..
Oohhh...because that time i suddenly press the pedal to the end when driving around 90 km per hour ma...4th gear will drop to 3th gear to pick up...140km/h in 3th gear ofcoz higher rev la...you drove in 180 km/h(wow that's fast) that time was in 4th gear so around 4200 rpm lo..
Aiya..why change player...the audio system is just nice, if upgrade then change the front speaker to component set lo...split the tweeter beside you. Still not satisfy then add a 4 channel amp to boost the sound loud loud.
Agreed, 16" just nice...but for me i won't change bcoz the stability and handling is quite good already...change bigger maybe more nice looking la but FC will increase wo..plus another 2 - 3k for new rim and new tyre..after trade in old rim + tyre still around +- 2k. No need la bcoz Persona is not for racing always( although race race sometime hehe..). If for racing then I will buy satria neo manual which already comes with 16" rim.

210 for front 190 for rear? Thanks. My Persona, oddly doesn't have the label on the driver's seat door.

And yes, 180km/h is fast, scares the sheet out of me sometimes when travelling outstation (Tend to speed if the coast's clear)

Yea go for 16", I'm planning to change by year end (Upon bonus lol). And wider tires as well.

If you want to go for the sporty look with change of rims, you could spray your disc brake caliphers red or yellow rolleyes.gif
