Only for 1.1.4

http://s.apfelphone.net

Add this to your installer, you will then find a new section called apfelphone fun in installer, which contains a couple of nes packs, both of which work on 1.1.4 ..

w00t .. no need SSH ..

Here's a tool that i would like to share with all of you. Its a tool that enable you to use SSH without wifi. It uses the USB cable for the connection. Great news for people with no wifi. This is for WINDOWS user only.

iPhone Tunnel Suite

Requirement:
• Open SSH installed through Installer or Cydia
• iPhone Tunnel Suite
• Latest version of. Net Framework

Functions:
• Connecting via SSH to an iPhone / iPod Touch, all without the need of WiFi and with the need of only USB cable.
• Client WinSCP integrated (included in the iPhone Tunnel Suite)
• Client Putty integrated (included in the iPhone Tunnel Suite)

Here's the guide on how to use it:

1. First, downloading it from here. http://www.makkiaweb.net/itunnel/download.html
2. Go ahead with the installation with the exe files:
3. Installation took place, then you can run the suite. Launch SSH in iPhone / iPod as well.
4. You will find a screen that shows only 3 buttons, first launch "iPhone Tunnel" that will establish a connection to your iPhone / iPod via the USB cable, then make sure to have it connected via USB. If you have not connected the iPhone close the tunnel screen (which is entitled "Launcher.exe"), connect the equipment and launch it again.
5. You can now use WinSCP client and Putty respectively for the file transfer and use of terminal line (Recommended). Within WinSCP there is already a profile called iPhone for the connection, then just click on connect (accedi Italian) to start the communication between the computer and the device.
Note: The WinSCP Client in the program is in Italian , but you can use your own by changing the language, just set up as follows:
• IP Address: 127.0.0.1
• Port: 22
• Username: root
• Password: alpine
5. Now you are Connected. using WinSCP as if you were connected via WiFi , have fun!

Just like to add this before it is lost again in the depths of the forum,

To add your carrier's voicemail single dial tap to the "Voicemail" button on your iPhone (2G/3G):-

1. You need to first get your carrier's voicemail number.
2. Click on your iPhone's phone button.
3. Then click on the Keypad tab.
4. You need to then add the following code: *5005*86*xxx#. Here xxx would be your voicemail number.
4. After entering the code you tap call.
5. This results in the code being set.
6. Thats all, tap now on the voicemail button and it should automatically call your usual voicemail service.

Celcom's voicemail is 1313, so you need to call *5005*86*1313#.

Saw this tips on the net:

Preview has an Import function that allows you to grab images from various sources. If you choose, in Preview, File > Import Image while your iPhone is plugged in, will open a new window with all of the photos on your iPhone camera roll. You can then select photos and choose Import and the photos will open in Preview, thus allowing you to save or export photos from your iPhone without using iPhoto or Image Capture.

not too sure if this is classified as tips and trick, but an own personal experiment of mine found that the keyboard addon (could be found in cydia as well) on 2.0.1 lags the ENTIRE system (for example sms, safari typing etc) considerably.

i have been using the MBA keyboard addon since 1.1.4 and there isn't any problem, but to my horror that for 2.0.1 it doesn't compute that way.

it is pretty simple to come out with a conclusion for 2.0.1. with the existence of winterboard, one can tick or un-tick the keyboard add-on and observe the vast lag time improvement.

Anyone here know how to copy contact from iPhone to Sim?? Any help would be very much appreciated !  notworthy.gif

you can't do that amigo (unless there is a new 3rd party app which i have not heard of before)

your best bet is to probably to use the nokia pcsuite to transfer from outlook (PC) to a nokia phone.

Found a solution from a webstie to disable the iphone backup function for both Windows and Mac.

Ever since version 1.0, the iPhone has automatically backed itself up every time an iTunes sync was started. The feature makes sense on a phone and has definitely saved my bacon quite a few times. However, with the iPhone 2.0 update, the backup feature has gotten arguably out of hand. Most users report obnoxiously long backup times which make it extremely frustrating to refresh your iPhone's information.
So if you're tired of automatic backups that take forever, here's how to disable them.

For Windows users:
First, grab a copy of NotePad++[U]. The standard apps that come with Windows won't work well for editing the iTunesPrefs.xml file.
To apply this hack, you'll be editing the iTunesPrefs.xml, which is generally found at C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes. You may need to enable hidden folders if you don't see the "Application Data" folder.

1) Quit iTunes

2) Make a backup of iTunesPrefs.xml. If you mess up, you'll wish you had a backup, so it's a good idea to make one.

3) Open iTunesPrefs.xml using Notepad++

4) Search for "User Preferences" without the quotes and you should find something like "<key>User Preferences</key>"

5) Right below the first <dict> that comes after "<key>User Preferences</key>", paste the following:

<key>AutomaticDeviceBackupsDisabled</key>
<data>
dHJ1ZQ==
</data>

Your results should look something like this:

Before
user posted image

After
user posted image

6) Save the file and open iTunes. If all went well, your iPhone will sync, but it won't back up. To back up manually, right click your iPhone in the source list and choose "Back Up".

For Mac Users
Things are a little easier here. :]

Why not just press Win+R, paste the following command and click OK?

Code:
"%CommonProgramFiles%\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\defaults.exe" write com.apple.iTunes AutomaticDeviceBackupsDisabled -bool true

That's exactly the same as Mac method, it works with any version of iTunes.

To undo, just replace true with false.
