mmm...now this is a tip for some people that as silly as me that deleted contacts and images (or even wipe the iphone by restore).
previously i've posted the question on the forum here,
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

and here,
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

consider this case. u gave your iPhone to someone else to use for months (uncle, aunt, brother, sister, friend, gf, bf, etc etc), and he/she haven't performed any sync to the computer for months (myb this sounds ridiculous, but it's still possible, like my case). and he/she has added hundreds of contacts, and thousands of photos snapped. suddenly someone select Erase All Contents and Settings, or myb restored it on the computer. and the contents are all deleted.

and now i've just repaired my other experiment iPhone (previously the upper part of the screen wasn't responding to touch), so then i proceed using the guide that i forgot from where i read it (and i read it for months ago)

so then these are the requirements,
ON THE IPHONE
- OpenSSH
- Installer > BSD Subsystem / UNIX Subsystem. If u previously haven't installed Installer then don't worry. get QuickPwn and select only Installer on the menu.
- Mobile Terminal
- If using early version of firmware (1.x) then myb u wanna consider SU fix if your BSD got prob with SU.

HARDWARE (dunno if this is the right term)
- Wireless router, or any public wifi, but make sure first that u can perform SSH (dunno if it's possible via ad-hoc, i'm no techno geek)
- Your laptop charger (if u r doing it outside), as the the iPhone drive image can easily takes 3 hours +/-. don't forget your iPhone cable too.

SOFTWARE
- Photorec
- Any SSH application, preferably running from Mac OSX or Linux

1st, make sure your iPhone is prepared for the procedure. make sure it has been installed with the required apps, and don't forget your computer too. and makesure u have enabled file sharing / SSH on the computer.

now there are 2 steps of recovering the files on the iPhone, getting the image file and analysing image file.

::Retrieving Drive Image From The iPhone::
1. Make sure u have connected via wifi, and try to perform ssh from the computer to the iPhone firsthand. use Cyberduck or any application u prefer to connect the computer to the iPhone. apart from testing that u already got the right address (which can be done via ping), u can also enable the SSH connection through both the devices in case u haven't performed SSH before (certs, credentials, etc etc, i dunno much bout that). now kill the SSH.
2. On your iPhone, start Mobile Terminal. make sure u have performed su first and entered the password first to gain root of your iPhone. and then perform the dd command to the target computer u wanna dump the iPhone image to. so these are what it will roughly look like, the italics one is the command that u entered,

<iPhone Name>:~ mobile$ su
Password : alpine
<iPhone Name>:/var/mobile root# dd if=/dev/disk0 | ssh <username>@<computer-ip> 'dd of=iphone-dump.img'
Password : login to the particular username on the computer

u can put the dump anywhere u want. if u do like what i've typed, the file will appear under User folder on your Mac.
Note : it will not show any progress bar of file transferred on the iPhone, nor the computer itself. it will only show the bytes transferred after the transfer is completed on the iPhone. so if u want to track the file transfer, just check the size of the image file generated on your computer from time to time to make sure the transfer run smooth
Attention! : as the transfer is really time consuming, the connection tends to time out after u have transferred around 1 GB of image dump. to counter this, make sure u do this,
> Exit Mobile Terminal
> On the iPhone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, and go back to home. Make sure from time to time (myb every 15-30 minutes), u repeat this. as u r detecting wireless network, it will keep your connection from timeout. btw myb there's another software that can prevent network timeout but i'm trying to reduce the probability of having the files i'm intending to recover from being permanently overwrite.

after u have your iPhone drive image fully copied to your computer, now is the second phase which is,

::Analysing The Image File::
Now we are doing the recovery. nope, u can't just mount the image file. u can start with using Photorec. it's free. forgot where the address is, just google for it. it comes with testdisk application.
this software is command line only. another thing is u can't just run the executable, u need to run the proper command from the terminal.

1. make sure u have created a folder as for destination of recovered files. i just create a folder on the desktop.
2. Now start the Terminal on the computer. just run <directory of your photorec extracted>/photorec iphone-dump.img
3. U will perform su and enter the password. select the file type u want to recover, also u can select either u want to retrieve corrupted files too (if u want to further analyse it, i dunno how to do that). point it to the right folder that u already made as destination of the files, and then start recovery.
4. after finished, u can start checking on your recovered files.

Note : Due to firmware 2.x presets that it fully wipes the data on the iPhone on restore, most probably u wont get your data back if that feature is enabled. the feature can be disabled if u opt out for full wipe when creating custom firmware in Pwnage or WinPwn.

u can only do this if u set the video as Music Video. when u open the music video under Playlist / Artist / Album menu, it will show the video on the album art area.

what's more, u can double tap to view it full size of the album art area.

and of course u can view it fullscreen as usual by turning it 90 degrees,
