not too sure if this is classified as tips and trick, but an own personal experiment of mine found that the keyboard addon (could be found in cydia as well) on 2.0.1 lags the ENTIRE system (for example sms, safari typing etc) considerably.
i have been using the MBA keyboard addon since 1.1.4 and there isn't any problem, but to my horror that for 2.0.1 it doesn't compute that way. it is pretty simple to come out with a conclusion for 2.0.1. with the existence of winterboard, one can tick or un-tick the keyboard add-on and observe the vast lag time improvement. |

you can try fring, even though IMHO oneConnect is the best free IM app that you can grasp now. however it is currently only available to yahoo users (but no harm importing your contacts into a new yahoo account i suppose?)
