QUOTE(may_saw87 @ May 29 2014, 05:27 PM) hie hie.. If I'm not mistaken there is a Campos coffee at Newtown which is near Glebe. If you are into coffee I can recommend this.Am gonna be traveling to Sydney next month. Just want to ask opinions from those who've traveled there recently and feedback on my 4 days 3 nights itinerary Staying at YHA Glebe North Point (backpackers place) MyMulti 2 Pass @ 56UAD - this one is for all transportation route for 7 days right? Is it within the attractions below? Day 1 - check in to hotel (around afternoon time) - gonna do some walking around in glebe town and see what's there.. - any good recommendation for food and shopping around this area? - planning to take early night rest and recharge for the next day! Day 2 - The Rocks - Sydney Opera House - Royal Botanic Gardens and Art Gallery - Circular Quay - Harbour Bridge Pylon Lookout - Manly Beach (ferry to Manly around after lunch time approx 2pm and come back around 5pm) - walk around CBD Day 3 - Sydney Fish Market - Darling Harbour - Bondi Beach - walk around CBD Day 4 - R&R and get ready to fly home Feel free to give some advise or if recommend any interesting to do and to eat http://www.camposcoffee.com/ 193 Missenden Rd, Newtown NSW 2042 I seldom go to Glebe wish I could tell you more. The rest of the days looks alright. I have many friends visited me these past few months and I basically bring them the same as yours for Day 2 and 3. For food, yeah definitely try the Hurricane at Darling Harbour. But do book ahead first and tell them you want the river view. Its pretty pricey but very nice pork ribs. Pancakes on the rocks at The Rocks is not bad. They open 24 hours. http://www.pancakesontherocks.com.au/ Alternatively you can go Lowenbrau a german restaurant for their famous pork knuckle. Big portion. Their popular beer if you drink is the Hofbrau. http://www.lowenbrau.com.au/ Morning try the cafe breakfast which costs around $16-20. Pricey but good experience. Or you can eat at Japanese, Korean or other countries restaurant which I think are heaps better than what you can find back in Msia. |

For adapters, I do suggest get it from Msia. Its not expensive here you can get for few dollars in "hot dollar" Asian shop but you won't want to spend time looking for a cheap one around.
A lightweight power bank may help for walking around. |

QUOTE(ivzh @ May 29 2014, 11:02 PM) going to sydney in 1 month times at early july. . Not sure about Hunter Valley tour but the weather in July will be cold. It is the peak winter month.Plan to travel by MyMulti 3 pass 5 days in sydney, day trip to blue mountain and hunter valley. I m not a wine person, anyone can share their experience with hunter valley tour? any tour company for recomendation for the day trip? For blue mountain, i think i will travel on my own via train then using the explorer bus there instead of joining a tour.. Since it's winter in sydney during july, any idea what type of clothes i should bring? will it be colder in blue mountain? Blue mountain is fine to travel by public transport though I never tried before mainly drive. It will be very cold. Many times I went there weather was pretty dull and raining and it can be windy. If you going to do some bushwalk, wear moist wicking material thermal and a good outer later for windproof or rainproof. Bring a lightweight glove, beannie and a scarf if possible. They are light and you won't regret it when the time comes you really need em. |

QUOTE(may_saw87 @ May 29 2014, 02:27 PM) hie hie.. Not sure which day are you travelling but you may visit the rocks market on every saturday. The rocks market is a street market consist of art works , souvenir , food so on. Royal Botanic gardens.. hmm entering winter i don't think this is a good place to visit as most of the flowers already wiltred. Manly must visit The Corso. Alot of souvenir and there's a super cheap shop which sell china made stuff at a ridiculously low price ( some even cheaper than malaysia ). Darling Harbour must try The Hurricane Grill. They have nice pork ribs and beef ribs around AUD$40 but the serving is quite huge. By the way skip the sparkling water they offered it taste awful and expensive by 5dollars than coles ( the grocery shopping centre). If you enjoy relax life do go hyde park at lunch time. You can see alot of people enjoying their lunch or resting on the green fieldAm gonna be traveling to Sydney next month. Any recommended tour company ya? For hunter valley and perhaps Jervis bay
Does credit card widely used in Australia, especially in cafe/restaurant or to buy attraction ticket? Even though bill is like only AUD$20? This post has been edited by ivzh: Jun 8 2014, 12:10 AM |

Price Guideline:
Meriton Zetland AUD 900 for 4 nights; 2 bedroom apartment for 4 people Optus sim card : AUD $2 a day for 500mb Internet + unlimited local calls- Excellent coverage Public transport: check your options, purchase MyBus10; or MyMulti depending on your stay Taxi: expensive, around $40 for a 15mins ride Food: AUD $10-20 per person per meal (average and not fine dining style). Portions are huge Supermarkets: Coles/ Woolworthy - chocs are cheap Souvenirs: Paddy's market for key chains, tshirts, magnets etc Rocks Market for more artistic stuff Sight seeing: AUD $63 pp: Madamme Tussauds, Sydney Tower, Wild Life sanctuary, Wild life aquarium, Manly Sea life sanctuary AUD $27 pp: Early bird Sydney Opera House Tour AUD $78 pp: Blue Mountains + Jenolan Caves tour via AAT Kings Day 1: 18th June -Took a cab (AUD $38) from the airport to the hotel - Meriton Zetland (RM 2.7k for four nights; 2 bedroom apartment). Distance from the airport is max 15mins drive. Awesome hotel, can take bus(30 mins max) / taxi(10mins) to the CBD. - Checked in and left our luggage there for storage since the rooms were not available until 2pm. Walked around 5 minutes to Victoria Park and had coffee - There is a Thai restaurant; Italian restaurant; coffee shop and convenience mart nearby. Be warned that the convenience store sells things way more expensive than the super markets like WoolWorthy or Coles. - At 5pm, we took a bus to the CBD. You can travel easily via public transport if you have got GPS/ Internet access. - Shorter period of daylight during winter so it is pitch black outside after 5pm. - Went to Circular Quay, walked to the Opera House and places nearby and headed back to the hotel at 10pm by bus. Day 2: 19th June - Went for the 9am Opera House tour, takes around 45 mins for the tour. - Took the ferry from Circular Quay to Darling Harbour - Visited Madamme Tussauds (30 mins max); Wildlife Park and then Wildlife Sea Aquarium (2 hours max for both) - Had late lunch at Pontoon Bar at Darling Harbour- cheap and nice - Walked to Paddy's Market/ China Town at around 4.30pm Bought souvenirs till 5.30pm (after which they close). - Went for some grocery shopping at a nearby Asian Supermarket in Chinatown. You can get any Malaysian/ Asian food stuff here. - Took a bus back to the hotel Day 3: 20th June - went to Broadway street, shopped at Woolworthy, checked out one of the malls - Had lunch at Dulcius Domus and Hari's Vegan restaurant at Broadway St - Took a bus to Circular Quay and then a ferry to Manly - Visited Manly Sea Life sanctuary, walked around the beach till 4.30pm - took a ferry back to Circular Quay and then a bus to Sydney Tower - Went to the 4D experience theater and the observatory area till 8pm - Walked to Myers for some shopping before heading back to the hotel. Day 4: 21st June - Went to Star casino at 7.30am to board AAT coach for Blue Mountains + Jenolan Caves tour. - 2 hours drive there and arrived at 3 sisters lookout point at 10.30 and was there till 11.15am. - continued to Jenolan Caves, another 1.5 hours drive and reached there at 12.45pm. - Had lunch at a cafe and then went for Lucas Cave tour; approximately 1.5hours with 900+ steps to cover. - Left the place at 3.30pm and reached CBD at 8pm. - Had dinner in Harris Street, there was fireworks on Saturday night at Darling Harbour. - Headed back to the hotel at 9.30pm Day 5: 22nd June - checked out early but left our luggage at the hotel for storage - Went to North Sydney to drop by at a Temple, then headed to Rocks Market - Walked around Rocks till 12pm and then walked over to Pitt Street for lunch- Nepalese restaurant - Walked around CBD till 4pm - Returned to the hotel and left for the airport. It was COLD during our stay, please bring some thick jackets during winter. Lots of walking to do though you don't feel it thanks to the weather Easy to travel via public transport / can be costly Food is not so expensive (don't work the maths of conversion please) Lots of Malaysian restaurants Vegan/ Vegetarian friendly (almost most of the restaurants) Beautiful parks, friendly/ helpful/ courteous people More foreigners than locals I love Sydney!! Wish I could stay there longer/ move there : This post has been edited by cutejams2004: Jun 23 2014, 08:43 PM |
