Wow... Shouldve visited this page before i buy my ticket... Aihs... Now its too late.. ill have to change my flight 24 hours my departure if i still couldnt get mine

Just came back from Sydney , everything normal .

Was still asked to do RTK within 24 hours, did it but they never check.

so basically no more test needed right?

On arrival , they said we need to do RTK test within 24 hours . It is more of a state requirement. But we ae not required to submit the negative result .


I went there to see relatives , not really for holiday. Also drove to Albury , around 500 km from sydney .

Anybody got their ETA recently? Mine from 29/3 still no news...stress

i got mine recently. still waiting for my sister's ETA approval also

You apply 28/3 approved on 6/5. I applied 29/3 today already 11th...sigh....when your sister apply?

Im still waiting as well.. Doubt will get it by tomorrow... So im prepared to change my flight dates... Applied 7th April...

i don't know when she apply. I think 3-4 days after me when I realize and told her need at least 1 month to process

Shock that ETA approval takes so long these days.
I applied on 2/22 get it within 2 weeks. My mom get it within minutes after submission.

Were you both using old passport previously have eta before pandemic?
There's speculation new passport, our names instead of first/last name, it's all placed as family name. Hence the app/system can't counter check and everything become manual.

I am using the new one. The visa does showed all my name as family name. I have no trouble entry into Australia or exit the country via smartgate.

That's very perplexing. You are new passport yet get in 2 weeks. What's the difference between you and others? Age? Race? Occupation? Luck?

Maybe the timing.. I applied it straight away after their border open on 21 Feb.
All I can noticed while I was in Sydney last week, that many tourists from Europe on the street.
They are back to their pre-COVID life. No more mandatory on mask. Although on train or light rail notice stated that need to wear mask during the riding, but more than half of the passenger also did not.

Finally got my ETA 2 min ago. Exactly 45 days....

after 40 days, my mum got her visa approved

now waiting mine.should be next week since i applied 1 week later
