if you're asking bout your male, i would answer you need to nurse/feed him with milk.. meal worm doesn't contain as much protein as in milk.. further more, feed him with slurp too..

Do adult sugar gliders in their natural habitat need milk to survive? They don't.

But for newborn baby joeys, if they are with their mothers, there isn't a reason for the need of milk replacer.

But pets own milk is rich in nutrients and there's no harm supplementing it.

But if the joeys come to a certain age already, no need milk also can, right? What age would that be, that they're weaned or stop needing milk?

By the way, I messaged Hun a couple of days back and she told me to tell everyone that she does not have Internet access, so she will not be online. If there is any emergencies, please call her directly. Please cascade this information to anyone who need Hun's help.

How come nowadays dont see KP around much either... Is she too busy with her glider? I want to ask her about Suggiestuff!

comparing gliders in captive with wild ones is unnecessary..

gliders in wild live up to 5-6 years only.. they dont have access to insects all the time and eat whatever they could to keep them alive..

further more how to compare in terms of supplements? they dont have multivitamins or such in the wild.. so is it unnecessary for them to take supplements since they don't take it in their natural habitat?

what about neutering then?

the main point is comparing gliders in few aspect is sometimes unrelevant..
gliders in captive tend to be healthier and live longer due to diets, environment & care..

apparent irritation mhmm , sarcasm yep, flaming no laugh.gif

look around the multiple topics across pets wonderland, you will see the same style of posts by that user all over the place.
Its not so simple as just missing a word here and there. Its obviously a total lack of initiative and effort.
I agree with Bonai that it might be an attempt to increase post count.
Considering how wide my mean streak is, and how homicidal shes been making me over the weekend,
i think i was pretty polite. brows.gif

The Sugar Glider will attack human ma? They look very cute.. But i dare not to touch them >_<
*

YES they will.

They bite and can even kill a human.

Muahahahahaha!

QUOTE(Shamanwee @ May 10 2008, 02:19 PM)
will they ran away if we din tie them and let them move on our body  when we are at outdoor or shopping...??
*

NO tying what-so-ever for a glider.

A fully bonded glider will not simply run off from you when you have them on your body and outdoors.

For further info, you can refer to the 1st page or read back some of the prev discussions.

QUOTE(LoveDoggY @ May 10 2008, 02:23 PM)
I think they will? Just like Squarrel..

Kindly refer above and the 1st page or read back some of the prev discussions for further info.

Then a glider is not a suitable pet for you.

Feeling scared of a glider will not help in the bonding process.

QUOTE(EvanSoon @ May 10 2008, 10:08 PM)
I really dun know what to do with Micah already.. he is bullying Joey..
i was watching them in front of the cage and Micah launch an attack at my face at 1st.. than he saw Joey looking out of the tunnel and attacked him.. than he calmed down n climbed around the face of the cage where i stood.. than when Joey came out of the tunnel Micah jumped at Joey n attacked Joey.. No wonder in the morning they were sleeping separately.. Micah was in the pouch and Joey was in the tunnel.. I am really thinking of neutering Micah n take away his manhood to keep him calm..
*

I think environment change and all is giving effect to Micah.

Also perhaps he is starting to show dominance sign.

If this persist, it could get worst, you should find an a way to separate them and re-intro. We do not want either of them to get hurt rite?

Do observe them closely.

Yes, neutering will help keep the dominance at bay.

QUOTE(EvanSoon @ May 11 2008, 12:13 PM)
u know theres 1 thing i really dun understand about you people!
when people dun have time for their suggies and let them unattended you scold them and ask they to let them to another people who can care n love them..
now that the person is feeling down and thinks he cant cope with them and is thinking of letting them to another owner you guys make a big fuss about it..
define commitment and responsibility if u want to continue shooting me..
what do u call keeping the suggies in the cage n just giving them food, commitment / responsible?
what do u call some1 who thinks he cant cope with them and tries to let them to other owners, no commitment/ being responsible?
what do u call shit asses that wants flames ppl saying he keeps his suggies for 1 year + already n plans to sell them off also!
or what about people who wants to sell their snake n get a new 1 cos he think it's not nice to play with?

no worries.. since u guys want me to keep them i will keep them longer..
since i can no longer think well also..
*

Excuse me. Did I miss something?

I didn't see you mentioning about selling off your gliders pun?

If the discussion has be made elsewhere, it should not confuse other forumers(like me) by posting it here.

Please don't give up in keeping them. I know how you feel as I started of with my once ferocious Iggy... I almost gave up in the first 2-3 weeks!

Give them time. Spend time with them. Carry them wherever possible.

Once they come around, it is a priceless feeling.

Think about this, the more a glider is rehomed, the more baggage memory they carry... This will effect their personality in the future as they feel that they could not settle at one place permanently.

As for now, I would assume that Micah and Joey is at their 3rd or 4th home... 1) Breeder --- 2) Seller --- 3) Ayiesz --- 4) You...

If once or twice is okay, just clearing their system like we do smile.gif

But if continuous, then better bring for check up.

I thot it says Clearly - Mango???

Anyway, you really should read the first page lah, pineapple is acidic and should not be fed at a large amount like that.

QUOTE(Cimredopyh @ May 11 2008, 07:51 PM)
LoveDoggy, please make some effort  to read and find things out for yourself
instead of just asking questions and expecting people to spoon feed information to you.

Nearly every question you ask in all the multiple topics you post in you could easily find out the answer for yourself.
If you have time to ask a question and wait for an answer, you definitely have time to go and google search and read.

I am not saying you should not ask questions...after you put in effort to read, there are still things that you dont really understand, THAT is the right time to ask questions.

Internet access = answers to nearly every question you can imagine.
*

Yes, Cim.

Thank you for pointing it out.

I thot I was the only one feeling kindda annoyed.

How old is the joey on milk?

If it is still less than 6-7 weeks Out-Of-Pouch, YES, feeding additional milk is still necessary.

Some joeys can wean a little early or later than other but generally it is about after 6-7 weeks Out-Of-Pouch.

Comparing wild gliders and captive breed some are irrelevant and some need to be considered.

In the wild they have shorter lifespan due to the diet, health care and predators.

In captivity, they can have longer lifespan if WE take good care of their diet, healthcare, providing extra supplements and keeping them safe from predators smile.gif

I'm sorry about that if it seems irrelevant to you with that comparison.

I will rephrase, Milk replacer seems to me as not a prerequisite but something very good as extra.

Don't ya think so?
