You can bring anywhere but always in a bonding pouch. If you go Ikano, no need pouch also ok. I let mine sit on my shoulder.
Wah.... I so happy to hear my SLURP is so well loved by most gliders heheheh. BTW, your Bubba is getting cuter and cuter everyday. Just now a few forum people came over, they had a sneak peek of Bubba, he was so adorable hugging my finger.
Yours memang suka fruits more than SLURP. Funny hahaha... but is good lah.

Welcome to glider world!

I still see you're lack of info & research on gliders..

July is still a long way to go, so you got plenty of time to do research..

It's easy, just read the whole first page of this thread and you should get the idea..

good luck! thumbup.gif

Hye sister! ( hope you're cute.. tongue.gif )

Yes, gliders could forget their owner... they'll become used to you if you carry on playing and spending time with them.. they'll become bonded to you...

haha.. sure money matters....

just make sure you're really prepared before actually bringing one back home..
stuffs such as cage, pouches and other accessories should be prepared earlier..
i would suggest to get it from Pet Shack (the glider friendly shop!) as they have all gliders stuffs you ever want..
and they could advise you on accessories or toys for gliders..

meanwhile, get to know gliders owner here and try to get in touch with any of them.. try to handle their glider(s) before actually considering to buy... the passion will strike you straight away then only you know gliders are the perfect pet for you! rclxm9.gif

Well, there is a possibility that the glider may get attach to you and forget your brother more. It depends.... I have experience with gliders boarding under me for a month, when return to their owners, they forget their owners.... so need to do bonding again. What you should do is get some of your brother's clothes and hang it near the cage or on the cage. That is why now I ask all who put their gliders for boarding at my home to make sure they bring along a smelly shirt.

Why early next month? Do planning..... and like I said before, joeys do not pop out like hamsters. The joeys from me that are ready in July are all fully booked coz like I said, people have patience, they have waited for the joeys long before you.

Yah, many have never experience handling a glider or even seen how a glider poo and pee on a person. I got a call from a guy before.... he said he wanted a glider coz it is manja.... but he doesn't know that it cannot be toilet trained, nor does he know that a glider has really sharp claws that can cause red scratches.... he thought glider can keep like hamster.....

Yups. That was Kiah. The hyper one on Jamien was Kapi. Kapi has a firmer grip, so the claws feel much stronger than Kiah. Heheheh.... both cute rite? Got nice soft fur.... and both also stick to me.

Little Bubba has not tried solid food yet. But he easily misses his mom. You heard him bark and cry for his momma.

That is SO TRUE! Many owners give up their gliders after a year.... reasons being no time lah, parents don't like, landlord do not allow pets, hate the smell, have no more commitment, got too much assignments..... I have heard alot of reasons.... sometimes I don't blame them if it is for personal reasons but for reasons like no time or commitment anymore... sigh.... sad.... gliders bond to people and they get depressed if their owners dump them to someone.

Some lagi keng.... let go into the wild. Why? Say it is natural wor..... Gliders are not native animals, therefore they cannot survive for long in the wild and normally die from a predator or starvation or natural elements.

Now I have 9 gliders... my commitment is bigger.... My parents think I'm crazy.... and they are not cheap to keep.... but i love all of them. I sleep less now because of them. sweat.gif wub.gif

Added on June 18, 2008, 9:15 pmLOL.... Kiah and Kapi smell like Kimba....

Keera no smell coz she got no male with her, so Keera smells like me a bit LOL....

Bubba smells like his dad, very strong male musk. Summore Bubba started to musk a bit hahahah.... which is normal coz joeys do musk but it is not very strong as the smell lessens in a few minutes.

Their nails are pretty pricky, esp for people who are unacquainted with nail trimming.

As for my suggies, they can't bear even few seconds to let me trim their nails for good, so i allow them to be vampire.

Looks like nail-o-matic derives its name from the fact it's "otomatik" nail trimmer.

At first i thought it was a nail clipper in ignorance when mentioned. Far from it, now i know it's a running track for their WW, sugar glider's manual treadmill.

Would hope to hear more feedbacks from those using it.

I certainly would get one to try!

Still for an hour?? Unbelievably composed glider, usually they are hysterical..

...................

Today, it's so relaxing, ponteng kejer la..
silver smile.gif
*
Yea, I am considering Nail O' Matic also but RM60+ is kinda pricey for me now. I will want to trim their nails but I am very sure they wont let me. Hardly so attached yet but been trying. I am on leave tomorrow so I will bring them up to my room to play later.

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Jun 18 2008, 12:11 AM)
Those that died are those that are contaminated..... so is good that they died. Use a sieve that people use for flour when baking. RM2 can get already or even cheaper.
*
Those that died are contaminated? Sure kah? Will they spread their contamination to those alive? Wouldnt that be harmful to the gliders? Yes, you told me about the sieve but I havent been able to find it except those that's made for cups. Problem with those are, I cannot leave the worms on top of the sieve and the sieve at the top of a tupperware .I need to find a sieve where it can fit right into the middle part tau-foo-fah container and that size is pretty hard to find. The middle part, not the cup so that the worms wont climb out because after filling the vege, it becomes pretty full.

QUOTE(silverwineus @ Jun 18 2008, 05:35 PM)
How to use sieve to screen out dead mealworms from the live mealworms? Can??
*
silverwineus, the sieve is used to separate the mealworm poo from the mealworm. Mealworm poo is like sand ma. Sieve will work but it's hard to find a sieve that fits into a container. Most comes with a handle that can be fit into the top of a cup / bowl.

QUOTE(silverwineus @ Jun 18 2008, 05:40 PM)
How come?

Only Mealworm in wet condition cannot tahan, but normally mine can last very long, kurang pun one week lebih..
*
I really have no idea. They are not in a wet area. I put them next to the sink (quite far away) and I open the cover for ventilation. There is fan blowing my glider and the container to hold the mealies are just nearby. I also dunno why mine dont last for 5 days even.
