QUOTE(Reanne @ Apr 27 2008, 03:47 PM) A bit is no problem. If it's just for now then can use a little. It's just sugar afterall, to help her eat more. I agree.Cause a proportionate dose should boost the gliders' appetite by the sweet flavour among those plain flavour. It's ok not to the extent in raising the sugar level of the glider till extreme. Sugar still exist in the fruits that we give, which are carbohydrates, in various forms such as glucose, fructose, sukrose in different molecular structures. I should try some sprinkles of that when my food really tasteless for them. This post has been edited by silverwineus: Apr 27 2008, 09:14 PM |

QUOTE(silverwineus @ Apr 27 2008, 09:09 PM) I agree. True. Even the cheap yogurt that is commonly available in supermarkets contain a lot of sugar to make it taste nice, as yogurt is naturally sour. Pure white sugar is ok, but brown cane sugar would be better in my opinion. I usually don't add anything like sugar for my gliders as they readily take to the mix.Cause a proportionate dose should boost the gliders' appetite by the sweet flavour among those plain flavour. It's ok not to the extent in raising the sugar level of the glider till extreme. Sugar still exist in the fruits that we give, which are carbohydrates, in various forms such as glucose, fructose, sukrose in different molecular structures. I think your glider is infected by some kind of fungus.. but not so sure.. Rather than asking here, better to seek for vets advice.. Bring your glider to the vet a.s.a.p It may seem like she's doing fine but you wouldn't know what will happen in future if not treated.. Might as well play safe and bring her for a vet visit.. |

QUOTE(coldfusionpower @ Apr 26 2008, 04:52 PM) sh*t ... chika gone MIA ... he manage to chew himself out ... search my room but cannot find .. gonna wait until it eating time . must he go jalan2 carik lauk .. HAhah... Chika the escape artist. Luckily you found him back man.QUOTE(dennishew2004 @ Apr 26 2008, 04:54 PM) If you are keeping a single joey, make sure it is not under direct air cond. Also, make sure the temperature is around 25C or 24C. Warmer is ok but don't go colder. Normally a pair would be alright since got body heat to keep them warm but single gliders would not really find it comfortable.QUOTE(EvanSoon @ Apr 26 2008, 05:36 PM) my opinion is if they r sleeping in their pouches n have blankets in them i think it is enough to keep them warm.. i dun think u need to cover the cage.. Sleep on your shirt, wipe all your sweat on it.... hahah.... good way to let your gliders know your scent.by the way finish cleaning my room n try my best to glider proof it.. real tired.. i'm gona mop my sweat with a old t-shirt to leave my scent~ QUOTE(coldfusionpower @ Apr 26 2008, 06:36 PM) btw .. i just notice .. more and more guys are keeping suggies as a pet .. why ar ? attract cute girls ? QUOTE(coldfusionpower @ Apr 26 2008, 06:54 PM) well .. if me .. is easy ... i bought my first syrian from reanne.. in years of no pet since sekolah rendah .. then i see reanne bring her suggie .. hohoho .. since that .. i've been keeping various of pets edi ...must get pet lower gf ... haha Gliders can be moody when they can't find their mate. My Kimba is always moody when I take Kiah and Kapi out.i wonder la .. why when chika is not around then aiko will be cranky ? QUOTE(ggMing @ Apr 26 2008, 07:44 PM) HELLO KOR KOR and CHES CHES.... I AM LARA... and THIS IS MY TWIN SISTER... Heheheh.... later I intro the twin sister. We are both HOT and PRETTY... !!! QUOTE(EvanSoon @ Apr 26 2008, 10:48 PM) <QUESTION> Clean when you notice it getting smelly. Use your nose to tell heheheh. I clean every day coz now I don't use any substrate for the tray. It is bare, and I wash it everyday.... that is the tray only. When the cage starts to smell, I just take a wet cloth and wipe the cage down. Don't try and overpower the smell with detergent if you do this weekly, you can put a few drops of Detol as a disinfectant.... but don't make the water turn milky white lah, coz if it turns white white, that it is too strong already..How often do u people clean the cage and pouches/toys? I heard that we shouldn't clean it that often as they will mark it even more causing it to smell more.. as for the tray below how? so actually how long should we clean the cage once? Males would mark more. Anyway, for the tray, you can use cat litter or newspaper. QUOTE(EvanSoon @ Apr 27 2008, 02:05 PM) tried to go n get mealies at the pet shop and couldn't get any.. kind of sad.. Yes, the vines tend to stink coz they absorb pee. You should wash them. What you do is soak the vines in some soapy water, then sun them dry under very hot sun. That's the only way to lessen the smell. Try not to use any air freshener or Febreeze coz it is afterall toxic. bought sawi n diff vege for them.. gona try them out slowly.. fruits i'm gona buy down stairs... n by the way.. the vines int he cage stinks.. took them out n wrap in newspaper.. dun know where to keep it from making my room smelly~ QUOTE(thisiskj @ Apr 27 2008, 02:34 PM) sawi and diff vege? they rarely would eat vege one wor.. but more sweet stuffs than plain vege's they like more sweet stuffs more than anything else.. in that case.. for mine la.. =P Gliders should be getting a fair bit of veggie. Sawi is high in vitamin C and calcium, so this veggie is a good choice but gliders rarely like the taste. Carrots are high in vitamin A and beta carotene. i havta put one small lil lil lil drop of natural wild honey into slurp to intro to Glynx before she like slurp now.. hehehe =P gona buy agawe nectar today.. =P kenot feed em honey.. =P Here is a freebie from me.... Veggie Cube recipe that my gliders love: 1/2 cup yogurt, low-fat and any flavour would do 1 carrot, chopped a few stalks of sawi/choy sum a few leaves of kangkong a few leaves of sweet potato leaves 1 apple, chopped a few water chestnuts a small slice of papaya 1 teaspoon of natural fruit jam(no added sugar and no preservatives kind) Blend all these together in a blender till smooth. Then freeze in icecubes. Serve 1 cube once or twice a week. QUOTE(thisiskj @ Apr 27 2008, 03:42 PM) Agave nectar is healthier than honey..... raw honey and unprocessed honey is not good for gliders. If needed, use the store bought normal honey. You can give sugar. Don't go and give just sugar to a glider lah, that is not good. You can use sugar as a sweetener but never go more than a teaspoon. QUOTE(JonYeap @ Apr 27 2008, 04:40 PM) As a staple, baby food is bad.QUOTE(thisiskj @ Apr 27 2008, 05:04 PM) baby food.. some sweet.. some sour.. =P my baby.. dun like a bit of sour one.. =P a bit funny tasting also.. picky one.. so favta use some sweet to tempt it to taste.. lil by lil first.. hehehe =P Your Glynx can take Slurp now loh hahahah... now lessen the babyfood, feed more fruits now. QUOTE(Pennywise @ Apr 27 2008, 06:13 PM) You know, there's so many different foods out there for baby thats suitable for gliders. One day we should all go grocery shopping together. The types of cheese, the brand of baby food, which flavour (only sweet ones), etc. I think it'll be cool! Ha ha.. Not all are suitable lah..... baby cereal, not all are good coz they contain soy, milk base, onion powder.... so far Heinz has good a good variety. QUOTE(ggMing @ Apr 27 2008, 08:01 PM) Hi everyone... today is my 1st time fishing... too bad sister zo'e is not with me as she is tired... Wah.... caught all those fish in 1 day?here's a pic of me and the fishes i caught... QUOTE(ggMing @ Apr 27 2008, 08:09 PM) yeah, got a lot more one... but sold to those bangladeshi and vietnamese to cover back the money spent on fishing... HAhaha... thanks for taking his pic. He was damn moody last night. OH yah, you saw my food bowls rite? You know, they can finish all those fruits in 1 night heheheh....Added on April 27, 2008, 8:14 pmintroducing.... Hun's Male Glider... QUOTE(desireeang @ Apr 27 2008, 11:17 PM) Well, you can always ask them to check the skin coz it has nothing to do with know how to treat a glider or not. Coz mites can be detected by examining the skin. Look in the 1st page for vet contacts that know how to treat gliders. If your glider living alone? QUOTE(ggMing @ Apr 27 2008, 11:20 PM) LOL.... fast fast do loh. Veggie cube is a good source of fiber and roughage heheheh. But I'm not sure if other gliders would like it or not.Added on April 27, 2008, 11:28 pm QUOTE(emino @ Apr 27 2008, 11:23 PM) Yah lah.... coz yesterday so tired, summore ggMing came at night, so me lagi tired hahahah....
