I agree.

Cause a proportionate dose should boost the gliders' appetite by the sweet flavour among those plain flavour. It's ok not to the extent in raising the sugar level of the glider till extreme.

Sugar still exist in the fruits that we give, which are carbohydrates, in various forms such as glucose, fructose, sukrose in different molecular structures.

I should try some sprinkles of that when my food really tasteless for them.

True. Even the cheap yogurt that is commonly available in supermarkets contain a lot of sugar to make it taste nice, as yogurt is naturally sour. Pure white sugar is ok, but brown cane sugar would be better in my opinion. I usually don't add anything like sugar for my gliders as they readily take to the mix.

i gt a sugar glider too~i've had her for alomost a year now, when i just got her, i fed her baby food, n i dunno why her ears start to chip off bit by bit,but then it heal.....now her ear r not like normal glider which r pointy...she look more like a no ear glider....but she is still fine n active...
jus wonder..anyone here has the same problem?or anyone here know why this happen??

It may seem like she's doing fine but you wouldn't know what will happen in future if not treated..
Might as well play safe and bring her for a vet visit..

If you are keeping a single joey, make sure it is not under direct air cond. Also, make sure the temperature is around 25C or 24C. Warmer is ok but don't go colder. Normally a pair would be alright since got body heat to keep them warm but single gliders would not really find it comfortable.

Sleep on your shirt, wipe all your sweat on it.... hahah.... good way to let your gliders know your scent.

Gliders can be moody when they can't find their mate. My Kimba is always moody when I take Kiah and Kapi out.

Clean when you notice it getting smelly. Use your nose to tell heheheh. I clean every day coz now I don't use any substrate for the tray. It is bare, and I wash it everyday.... that is the tray only. When the cage starts to smell, I just take a wet cloth and wipe the cage down. Don't try and overpower the smell with detergent if you do this weekly, you can put a few drops of Detol as a disinfectant.... but don't make the water turn milky white lah, coz if it turns white white, that it is too strong already..

Males would mark more. Anyway, for the tray, you can use cat litter or newspaper.

Yes, the vines tend to stink coz they absorb pee. You should wash them. What you do is soak the vines in some soapy water, then sun them dry under very hot sun. That's the only way to lessen the smell. Try not to use any air freshener or Febreeze coz it is afterall toxic.

Gliders should be getting a fair bit of veggie. Sawi is high in vitamin C and calcium, so this veggie is a good choice but gliders rarely like the taste. Carrots are high in vitamin A and beta carotene.

Here is a freebie from me.... Veggie Cube recipe that my gliders love:

1/2 cup yogurt, low-fat and any flavour would do
1 carrot, chopped
a few stalks of sawi/choy sum
a few leaves of kangkong
a few leaves of sweet potato leaves
1 apple, chopped
a few water chestnuts
a small slice of papaya
1 teaspoon of natural fruit jam(no added sugar and no preservatives kind)

Blend all these together in a blender till smooth. Then freeze in icecubes. Serve 1 cube once or twice a week.


Agave nectar is healthier than honey..... raw honey and unprocessed honey is not good for gliders. If needed, use the store bought normal honey.

You can give sugar. Don't go and give just sugar to a glider lah, that is not good. You can use sugar as a sweetener but never go more than a teaspoon.

As a staple, baby food is bad.

Your Glynx can take Slurp now loh hahahah... now lessen the babyfood, feed more fruits now.

Not all are suitable lah..... baby cereal, not all are good coz they contain soy, milk base, onion powder.... so far Heinz has good a good variety.

Well, you can always ask them to check the skin coz it has nothing to do with know how to treat a glider or not. Coz mites can be detected by examining the skin.

Look in the 1st page for vet contacts that know how to treat gliders. If your glider living alone?

LOL.... fast fast do loh. Veggie cube is a good source of fiber and roughage heheheh. But I'm not sure if other gliders would like it or not.

thisiskj , different ppl have different preferences, what do u mean by dun buy heinz? i have been using heinz for more than a year, and my glider eat every last drop of the mix or the baby food itself.
