hi all!

my gf is eyeing on a new phone, she love SE phone so much that she try to avoid buying nokia (although 5610 Music Express looks nice to her).

some question about the flash, the LED flash can stay on and act like a torch? is the LED bright enough?

also how's the battery life?

sorry if this has been asked many time, i'm new to phone section of LYN. biggrin.gif

oh thanks that's a great news indeed!

i think k850 is really unique that allow both LED flash along with xenon flash, that's why my gf love it!

let's see if my gf can accept the purple fringing when taking outdoor picture especially those with lots of trees. but my gf mostly take pictures of bakery stuffs like cakes/breads/cookies cause she loves bakery! indoor pictures should please her i think... biggrin.gif

My friend just bought an N82. Well alot of aspects of picture quality can be debated on, but one thing that makes me very happy to choose this over n82 is that at night, it uses LED flash to focus compared to the Infra Red used by N82 which is terrible when taking pictures of people cause they won't want to look at that infra red light. I do not know about the N82, but the LED focusing light can be turned off if you want to on the k850i.

i thought the red light should be better than LED focusing, at least easier on eyes? my friend's N95 makes me wanna close my eyes everytime when he take LED flash picture.

at least good to know the LED focusing light can be turned off! thumbup.gif

Photo samples taken with K850i operating on R1FA035 firmware. Here you can see how brint and properly synced the flash is on the new firmware. As usual, longer exposure is preferred by the phone compared to higher ISO resulting in slightly blurry shots. I held the camera very loosely to illustrate this.

Night Mode | Flash auto | ISO Auto (Camera choose 200) | Exposure 1/8sec

Night Mode | Flash off | ISO Auto (Camera Choose 200) | Exposure 1/8sec

Auto mode | Flash off | ISO auto (Camera Choose 200) | Exposure 1/8 sec | Exposure bias EV+1

Added on July 25, 2008, 10:05 pmAnother thing I realized is that the picture is clearer with the stabilizer off. The stabilizer seems to make the picture blurry instead.

Only the very first firmware suffered from lag.

All firmware from R1CA029 and above do not suffer from lag. In fact it is very fast and responsive.

Touch sensitive button is a matter of personal taste I guess. Personally I like it very much.

One disadvantage i guess would be the unconventional d-pad. For me it is one of the best thing the phone has. But most dislike it.

Next is it is not on symbian so can't install s60 OS programs and there is no GPS.

No other major disadvantage I can think of.
