Sifus,

I have an ASB loan since last year of RM45k and already gotten the dividend.

let say if i wanted to maximise the ROI, should i get another RM50k loan and pay the loan using the dividend from the previous asb return or just let the dividend compounded in my ASB?

I am targeting to cancel the loans in 2/3 years time.

Yes better go for max out the opm. What u want to do right now is call as hybrid technique. U will use the 1st loan dividend to cover for the 2nd loan installment. U just need to commit the 1st loan installment. The 2nd loan asb will be compounding the dividend hence u will get more than just compounding from your 45k.

If u need more info can private message me. I can help u regarding this matter.

Here i show u the different if u just compounding your 45k and max your opm

45k compounding 3 years

Rate 5.45%
Monthly = 254.10

Prinsipal sv = 1940
Compound div. = 10,127
Total = 12,067

-
-
-

45k + 50k + 50k terminate at year 3

45k loan

Principal sv = 1940
Last dividen = 3150
Total = 5090

50k loan (2nd year apply)

Prinsipal sv = 1514
Last dividen = 3500
Total = 5014

50k loan (3rd year apply)

Prinsipal sv = 738
Dividend = 3500
Total = 4238

Total earning
5090 + 5014 + 4238 = 14,342 (+-) ✔️✔️

Difference about 2275 in 3 years.

This if u terminate after 3 years. If u hold longer your asbf you will get more because your compounding and principal value will be much bigger.

Sure la different...hehe

The 2nd 50k loan is apply at 2nd year and 3rd 50k loan is apply at the 3rd year

Thats why the principal sv is reduce for each loan. I already edit my posting...sorry for the confusing

U are not considering takaful which some bank put that as requirement to take.

Btw, will there be any difference if i let go my existing loan. The current rate is 5.25%. I want to reapply for 5% promos

My calculation always without takaful in it because at cimb takaful is optional.

But I still can calculate the potential return for those who apply asbf with takaful if they provide the details of their loan.

100k 5.25% - 552.20, 5% - 536.82 (15.38)
200k 5.25% - 1104.41, 5% - 1073.64 (30.77)

Thats the difference 5.25 and 5%.
