Hi guys,
Just to inform that Ambank ASB/ASB2 financing promo @ 4.75% has been extended until 31st March 2018. Same as before, max tenure is 30 years with no lock-in period applicable to 100k and above, and takaful is not compulsory. Also processing fees will be waived as well, so do PM if interested! Thanks, and Happy New Year! This post has been edited by Ronald K.: Jan 2 2018, 01:17 PM |

QUOTE(haziqnet @ Dec 27 2017, 07:43 AM) Hi yes u can check for your dividend and asb statement but not your loan statement. Yes just need to update your phone no at nearest branches. You also can update your phone by email to asnb if not mistaken. Can I also ask one more thing if you don’t mind - if I’m going to take out the dividens, do I need to bring the book with me? First time asb loaner here so pls bear with me hehe |

QUOTE(muchabi @ Dec 28 2017, 01:41 AM) Hi guys, am new to the forum, but am actually a banker with experience in ASB loan. Please feel free to ask any questions and will try as hard to answer. Hi, I understand earning from Dividend, but what does earning from principal balance mean? For your questions Tradefameplz: Q1: Why max tenure and why not shorter tenure to pay less for the loan. A1: Most people are in the ASB Loan/financing game only for 3-5 years. So might as well pay lower installment because you are not going to serve the full tenure. You will still receive same dividend although it also means lower principal balance when you cancel the loan. Short term game, you will save more if you maximise the tenure. Q2: Why cancel in 3 to 5 years, would it be better to settle off the loan. A2: Depending on the goals of getting the loan in the 1st place. If you have a long term goal, go for long term or settle off the loan. If you plan to use the money in 3-5 years and is using ASB Loan for the means of saving, you cancel it in 3-5 years. In ASB Loan, you earn from Dividend and Principal Balance. Q3: When to apply and when to start paying A3: ASNB will calculate dividend pro-rated monthly. To get a month's dividend, the ASB Cert tied for the loan must exist from the 1st to the last day of everymonth. Saying this, ASB will reopen on the 2nd January, meaning the earliest your certificate can be purchased is on the 2nd January, hence you will not get January' s dividend for next year. Apply now, ask the banker to hold until the said loan 1st installment begin in february. |

Hi, yes you can. Meaning total 400k ASB and 400k ASB2. In your case if your wife wishes to take up ASB loan then she has to do a joint loan with you.My wife is not working..hence all the monthly payment will come from my salary.. |

QUOTE(uk9089 @ Jan 3 2018, 10:23 AM) How much would i save if i change my current asb loan 5% to ambank asb 4.75% loan? Very little. Less than RM50 per month. If you think that's worth it, go for it. My current loan left about RM190k (Which includes Takaful Insurance RM8k). It's good to show the banks that we WILL pursue the lowest rate. Power to the people!! hahaha |

QUOTE(uk9089 @ Jan 3 2018, 10:23 AM) How much would i save if i change my current asb loan 5% to ambank asb 4.75% loan? The exact difference for 200k between 5% and 4.75% is just RM27.50.My current loan left about RM190k (Which includes Takaful Insurance RM8k). You can use excel to calculate, just use the formula below: =pmt(rate/12,months,PV) rate is 4.75% & 5% months is the period of your loan, eg 240 months for 20 years. PV is the amount that your personal loan, eg 200,000 for example, =pmt(0.0475/12,240,200000) =1292.45 =pmt(0.05/12,240,200000) =1319.91 |
