QUOTE(saiga @ Jan 3 2017, 10:58 PM) Depend on your salary. If got excess every month why not? Some sort of force savings. I'm more surprised with SOME people buying phone more than their monthly salary some more willing to pay postpaid for unlimited call with 20-30gb per month. then back home got unifi for kids, haha

QUOTE(notoriousfiq @ Dec 28 2017, 09:33 AM) For a long term game, it's quite the same with ANY other loan. Car, Mortgage, etc. Which is, the shorter the better. We give money to the bank lesser. But people who are taking long tenure ASBf is looking at short term game, i.e. to exit after 3 years. People don't take 30 years to finish 30 years. So, if its short game you're looking, take long tenure. If you want to finish, take the shortest you can (or want to) pay. just asking if 200k loan, better we stop at 3rd year or extend until 7th year? in a way that still afford to pay monthly loan

QUOTE(tradingGo @ Feb 9 2022, 07:09 PM) Is this normal? So ppl usually terminate their loan and sign up with another for a lower interest rate? How long does the approval take? Need to be physically present at the bank? I found sales advisor from fb. She said can get lower interest. So ask her to meet me at my office.

QUOTE(Asyraf Iskandar @ May 5 2022, 10:01 AM) Hi guys, I am new in this forum I am currently doing ASBF since 2019 with RM70k loan with max tenure installment (35 years) On 1st April 2022, I went to CIMB bank and request for termination and last week before raya got follow up with the officer and she said I got shortfalls and bank cannot close my ASB account yet. I need to pay the amount of shortfalls first. Btw, my sister also terminated her ASBF and got no issues since we both taking the same bank at the same time. someone can clarify this? ade pending loan outstanding? if yes, then u need to settle it first b4 proceed cancellation

QUOTE(Asyraf Iskandar @ May 5 2022, 10:24 AM) only stated principal outstanding is RM9++ something. My sister got RM4++ principal outstanding but it turn to RM0 by itself after 1 weeks Dia cakap dia tk bayar pun yang outstanding tu. dia hilang sendiri. masa termination tu, sy dengan dia pergi branch yang berasingan dan dia proceed untuk cancel tu 2 minggu awal dari sy. i done termination on 1st april 2022 cz want to take new asb loan with lower interest rates. they check on my existing loan, so got some outstanding, straight paid, then she proceed with the form for cancellation, sign on the form etc2. then 15 April, received the extra cash from the termination of existing loan.

QUOTE(tr3xsdcc @ May 27 2022, 01:27 PM) Hi guys any better rate currently for asbf ? Existing loan is at 3.7% after the recent blr increase. Is it worth it to continue paying ? Tq yes if u think it still + dividend. All others are negative nowadays (Wahed Apps), thanks to many factors, war etc.

QUOTE(haziqnet @ Jun 28 2022, 10:44 AM) some bank provide lowest interest rate if apply with takaful. just take it and request for min takaful period which is 5 years. It will not add much into your principal amount. Around 80-100. So not too worry. But you must notify the banker you are requesting for min takaful period if not they will charge the max period. This will take about 2-3 years only than will your installment deduct the principal amount of your loan. I wont mind taking the takaful in case anything happen in future

QUOTE(haziqnet @ Sep 15 2022, 12:08 PM) just to share an insight/opinion of 2022 asb distribution. Because of the recent increase opr (3 times now) we may see a higher distribution this year. My best guess its over than 6%. So guys dun panic and terminating your asbf. We may see more increment of opr in few month ahead. read somewhere, the increase of OPR to pre-covid is a sign of economy recovery. hence foresee the asb dividend might improve.
