Silver color is nice when u have hardwares with colors that could make a strong contrast ... Beside AC stuffs is cheap and performs well without too much of hassle installation and maintenance ... I used to love Thermalright stuffs until got full HR family .. but in the end the whole case becomes really cramped ... So gives up .. Water cooling didn't works brilliant either ... hahaha .. |

Actually there's only one sata cables there, the other two is my gc power cables ...all HDDs sata and power cables are hidden now ... so overall lesser cables branched out from the HDDs ... I wanted to hide the DVD-RW sata cable as well but it's not long enough ... arr!! @DaRkSyThE I found them out of the ocean as well... I do know that they does manufacturer cables ... u could find some at All ITHypermall .. expensive for sure... |

@Ryo
Around RM20 each ,,, it's sold at 3 pounds ... @akachester heheh.... years of patient and hard work does pay off .... It could be slightly better if the gc cable not that short .. so that it could be routed better ... hehe.. I have to selects all the component carefully .. from color to size and performance .. I won't make a beautiful machine that can't satisfy my daily uses .. after all PC is make to serve people to work more efficiently .. not a mere decoration ... btw, I've spent an hour yesterday to remount my mobo and gc because the miss alignment of the mobo tray.. whoosh .. the tray is really soft and it bent slightly during last migration from water cooling to air cooling ... even 1 mm of difference caused my older HIS 3870 to bent ... now it's better after all the test fittings and adjustment I'd seriously think again when comes to removable tray if the build quality isn't strong enough ... Just wondering there Doom,
You running the 3870 passively via the S1? Hows the temperature coping up even on Crossfire? Cause i saw you need to remove the side fan to fit the S1 though. |

@akachester
I don't really run the crossfire setup in passive loh .. there's on 12cm fan at the rom cage that blowing air directly through the cards. temperature wise not a big issue. Top card: 40c to 52c and Bottom card: 44c to 58c @LExus65 The mobo tray really bent a bit by 1 mm .. it doesn't fit's well anymore but it won't be an big issue cos 1 mm is easy to adjust ... however I'd really think again about the removable tray when comes to Ah Lian... it's never being solid ... Last time A10 also wasn't so solid .. It could bent a bit but not as fragile as the A16 type of removable tray does .. |

oh ya....by temp i mean my GC temps......brought it down by about 10c.
so both my 1st and 2nd card idles and loads at about the same temps instead of the usual 10c difference i see in sli rigs. 1 more thing to take note....my GC cooler is the type that blows the air out out the back wan...so it helps to remove more... i wouldnt recommend putting it on GC coolers like zalman or whatever where the 2 fans will be fighting against each other for air. |

CODE If there is any reseller / supplier who can bring Lian Li PC-A20 with price less than RM400 plz let me know. Really love the case and the screwless design too. Sorry to start a new thread coz i dun think this is suitable to put in Lian Li League thread. This is one-off sumore, will close this thread after few days. :P Lian Li has revealed that it will launch no less than ten different case designs between now and this year's Computex tradeshow in Taipei, Taiwan in June. The designs will cover many different markets, including mainstream, home theatre and high-end and although we haven't seen all of the new cases, the ones we have seen in the flesh are looking pretty awesome. While the Armoursuit PC-P80 split opinion in the bit-tech offices, I'm sure that some of the newer cases are a return to form for Lian Li - the sleek and stylish designs are back. The company's representatives say that they're excited to see how some of the new cases are received by the community - it really believes it's onto something good. Of the cases we saw during our visit to the company's offices in Keelung City in the North East of Taiwan, there were a few that really caught our eyes. First of all, the company's new home theatre cases-the PC-C36 and PC-C37-look promising with some interesting new ideas. One complaint that Lian Li said it had from its previous HTPC cases was the support bar across the middle - it was fixed in place. PC-C36 PC-C37![]() ![]() With these two new designs, the bar is removable, which will definitely make the installation process a lot easier. There are other enhancements too - both feature a small PCB at the front that apparently allows you to boot into a Linux distro to search for (and presumably playback) media files. The PC-C36 comes complete with a TFX power supply, while the PC-C37 supports standard ATX PSUs - there's no word on pricing on either of the designs yet as it's still being finalised, but we'll get hold of that information as soon as possible. We then moved back to more standard full tower designs, of which the company showed us three new designs, the PC-A20, the PC-A7110 and the PC-A7010. The PC-A7110 and PC-A7010 are very similar by design-the only difference really being the door-which is reserved but stylish at the same time. ![]() ![]() PC-A7110 ![]() PC-A7010 Both feature removable motherboard trays and the quality of finish you've come to expect from Lian Li. Again, there's no detail on exact pricing for either model, but we were told that both should hit roughly the same price point and that they'll be cheaper than the Armoursuit PC-P80. The third full tower we saw was the PC-A20, which is an upgrade from the older PC-A10 design and features some improvements. For example, there is now a 120mm fan above the memory slots that's designed to help improve airflow around the CPU socket. In addition, Lian Li has also added a 140mm fan directly above the PCI-Express slot location - this exhausts hot air from the graphics cards straight out of the chassis. ![]() ![]() ![]() PC-A20 There are of course five more cases that we didn't get to see because they weren't quite ready to be shown to us - Richard did see some prototypes for the new V1010 and V2020 cases, and also the X2000 chassis, at CeBIT this year. The first two haven't changed much, but the X2000 has been modified slightly to fit longer graphics cards inside. There is also a shorter version of the X2000 planned for release soon too, but details on that chassis were very scarce. I know some of you have been waiting for the Xbox 360 case ever since we first covered it at the Consumer Electronics Show. The design has undergone some changes since then-Richard saw a significantly modified version at CeBIT, but there are more changes that have been made since then. The good news is that the Xbox 360 case is very close to being launched - Lian Li is waiting on delivery of just one part and then it'll be ready for shipping to the channel. We also had time to have a quick look around one of Lian Li's factory, where it quickly became apparent why it charges a premium for its cases. Everything is manufactured to an incredibly high standard-as I'm sure many of you can attest to if you've ever owned a Lian Li chassis-and literally all waste is recycled - I was told that employees would get fired if they were caught throwing waste material away! A20 looks ALMOST appealing...its an upgrade of the A10... but they changed the most appealing factor for the A10 to me... the removable mobo tray... instead of sliding out the back with the pci slots... they made that stupid removable mobo tray ONLY wiothout the pci slots sigh... the so called "improvements" i can prolly mod myself la.. |

if you guys look closely at the PC-A7110
the place where the hd are.. you can clearly see a HD backplane.. sata hot swap support ? no more messy wiring and etc.. all using an intergrated backplane.. |

Those casings are nice but unfortunately, not many shops carry full range of Lian Li casings these days. I only know of ATE.

hmm ... I don't know it's me or there's no hype at all when looking at these new Ah Lian casings...
A7XXX series indeed has larger spaces, better HDD cooling solution and supporting frame .. but that's not something new at all .. Besides the HDD cage used is not really a vibration absorber, I can't imagine with that many of HDDs installed .. how noisy it would be .. Meanwhile Looking at A20.. hai .. not sure what's so good about it .. Like mADmAN's comment about the removable tray ... it's really stupid design .. it doesn't help to ease the installation process since all those cards have to be removed before able to pull the motherboard out .. besides that from my experience with A10 and A16 .. A16 has the same tray like A20... it's not really easy firm and strong .. furthermore when installing it back ..have to make sure it's really aligned precisely else any card that needed to be installed on the mobo might faced miss alignment ... where's the convenient of having removable tray ?? as for the door .. unless it has very good intake property .. else with no intake fan at the upper zone... I bet it would suffer the same heat issue as A10 does ... hai ... not to mention the revised V-series ... ohh .. god .. reverting back to ATX probably facilitates heat pipe during dissipation process ... but it make installing 4 or 8 pin mobo connector harder.. not all PSU has the cable length to reach there .... Overall I'm not sure the move of using 14cm fan is a good idea... because there's limited number of 14cm out there for after market solution .. further more many enthusiast has a dozen of 12cm fan lying around .. Overall I can't see any WOW factor on any of the new released case ... What they do it's just fix the thing is not broken and leave the problem as it is .. One thing about Lian Li is they make huge full tower cases which can fit plenty of stuffs (including water cooling, dual or triple rads)
I personally like the PC-A77 but no idea where to get it. |

hmm. .. indeed but that's because they used aluminum half of the thickness used on SS case .. .
so imagine a full range of water cooling stuffs are installed within the case .. It doesn't felt ...strong ... and solid enough .... but I guess as long as it doesn't break apart .. it serves its purpose all right .. |

Just like the Cantonese saying - "old one never go, new one how to come" so just mod it. If it becomes ugly, sell it off I used to overclock only but these days learn about casings so end up burning more cash |

true but with my history of cases... everytime i buy a new case, its always an upgrade and that means its always more expensive...so i guess the next logical step for me, if i were to ever upgrade my case, would be a silverstone.
but not so soon though.. |

reviewers dont really bother doing cable management ler.... unless its something that they really intend on emphasizing.
that removable mobo tray is stupid. for that reason alone id rather get A10 rather than the A17. temps issue can be solved.....mobo tray cant This post has been edited by mADmAN: Apr 17 2008, 10:27 AM |

@mADmAN
Totally agree with you about A17 but I won't want to go with A10 as well I'm starting to see there's no positive differentiation in Ah Lian case ... especially the mid tower section .. hmm .. I really hope they seriously go back on the drawing board and ask what is the enthusiast wants from a case .. since they are paying lots of money to get one .. |

Has anyone noticed that the slide in mechanism for PSU in lian li casings actually scratches the PSU badly?

@wiNd
Yap most mid tower case and up could fit in full tower cooler nicely .. Only V600 and mATX case can't @hypermax Yap .. especially when using PSU with higher wattage where the PSU casing often 1 to 1.5 mm bigger than lower end version ... It doesn't really helps at all .. don't know why it's needed ... @suicideroach My lovers of all time .... small yet good ... |

cool bling bling factor ... probably could hide the exhaust fan cable and sleeve the connectors (power, reset and etc). could work on the routing of sata cable a bit more as well .. |

huhuhu... seems the airflow in my casing is quite bad. My idle temp increased from 28'C (in previous case) to 36'C in this casing
ermm i did the reverse airflow so that the air inflow at the front panel and out at the rear casing.. is that a bad idea? and one more, i notice that the exhaust fan is not strong enough to pull the hot air from the HSF. |

you might consider changing to a more powerfull exhaust fan,
how the air flow of the PSU? any air flow thru the mobo chipset? |

my advice would be keep the original fan configuration but replaced it with stronger fan ...and remove all the fan grill ..
[Front exhaust and rear intake] the reason you aren't getting adequate airflow is because of the fan grill that blocked 50% and more of the airflow intake... As for the graphic card area try to remove the PCI-Slot covers and see it brings positive result to ur gc or not .. Try that and see got different or not .. . |

Took some time to "molest" the Armorsuit today at ATE. Got to say its quite nice
Just love the removable front filter. Easy to remove and clean. Bad point, ugly top panel and the top 14cm fan. |

Don't worry because the 3870 cooler wouldn't pushed the hot air out strongly .. so it won't sucks back from the PCI slot opening .. |

LOL...1 pack of Aeroslot is not even enough for my A10. Guess i need to get another pack later on. Still missing 1 or 2 pieces.
Anyone know whether ATE have stock for those front bezel with filter or not? I saw it from their brochure and the last time i asked, they said they are not bringing it in. Same goes to their LL aeroslots as well... |

thats the PC-007.
but the ones sold at ATE comes with a huge 25cm side panel fan with mesh. everything is exactly the same as the picture except the side panel. its within ur budget and ull have extra cash to pay/ buy parts to have ur side panel like that. |

I was kinda free last weekend, so I figured it's time to cleanup the insides of my PC-60 and do some other minor mods.
First things first, a fan swap for my Liberty 500W. And remove the grill as well. Fan used to swap in was a Yate Loon 120mm. Only 1350rpm max compared to the stock which can go up to 2600rpm. ![]() Here's a look at a slightly modifed intake filter. I cut up the stock filter from lots of small round holes into a single big square hole for better flow, then installed an aluminum mesh filter using some bolts and nuts. ![]() My HDD setup, a primary 160GB and a secondary 120GB. Need to replace the 120GB with a 320 or bigger soon heh. HDDs are suspended within the stock HDD rack using elastic cords to minimize seek and vibration noise. ![]() Overall look of the interior. ![]() The black material lining the floor, rear and roof of the casing is Superlon. Some basic sound dampening material, looks nice, but it made a minor diff. I used it to cover the insides of both side panels as well. SATA cables are kinda ugly looking, but not much choice given the layout. Overall, it's OK for me, still not silent, but it's OK as long as I'm not deliberately listening for it. For those who are interested in the fan setup: Intake: Yate Loon 120mm Exhaust: CM Alu Fan 80mm Ninja HSF: Scythe 800rpm 120mm I like to keep the fans at 1000rpm or less if possible: ![]() This post has been edited by evilnickwong: Apr 29 2008, 11:01 PM |

My old one which the specific model still remains a myth as it's already too old will be sold to another friend. Will wash up the good old PC-71 and build it up. Doom, u still in UK? vincent09: Thanks for the pic. You're right, perhaps I should reverse the HDDs. But I think the reason I didnt do that last time is because it's abit tougher to do with the drives suspended. I shall try next time I'm free.

@evilnickwong,
try to change the exhause fan from 80mm to 120mm fan, 1st you can reduce the fan rpm, 2nd, better air flow for your entire system. it was just a simple mod, a blow hole and some drilling. rgds Added on May 2, 2008, 2:53 am QUOTE(Doom @ Apr 29 2008, 06:08 AM) yes, really a nice case. full alu and light weight.is it , Doom This post has been edited by overclockalbert: May 2 2008, 02:53 AM |

overclockalbert: Thanks for the suggestion. I already thought of that ages ago as I hate the 80mm exhaust, but as E-J@1 pointed out, there's just not enough space for one. It's enough to make me consider a A05 instead lol.

Those 2 fans are Silverstone FM123? You can install front panel fan controller to control those fans instead of reaching behind the casing to control those fans. p/s just my 2 cents. |

Autosol is abrasive enough to leave marks on the aluminum. Not sure about Brasso tho.
On a related note, I'm toying with the idea of stripping my PC-60 and painting the entire interior flat black. ^.^ |

Quick question guys. If I remove the rivets on the top panel of my PC60, what can I use to replace them later? I'd try not to use rivets again, so that future removal will be quick, I was thinking nut + bolt, but where to get such a small diameter + length?
Also, I want to replace the LEDs for the power and HDD. Any idea if there's a specific rating to get, or any LED of the same 5mm size will do? |

Hi guys, thanks for the input!
I've seen hardware shop with the nuts and bolts, but most bolts are too long, gotta cut it I think. As for screws, I don't know if it will be so convenient as to just fit like that lol. I thought it will require tapping of the hole (expensive job) at the very least. Still, if neither works, I guess I can just get a riveter. Need to remove the top panel to begin my interior repainting job. ^.^ |

10cm could give u lots of room to install different things .. if u are looking to cool your system with wc then V1200 is a better choice . The lower compartment could be converted to mount the radiator. @vixxiee I felt that Ronny loves the case so much, but what I see it's just average case with combination of multiple features available on other LL cases. @tomatos I don't think that LL case has complicated look, but it does comes wtih complicated features that may or may not works nicely. Besides, I think because of too many cases releases the entire LL product line looks complicated. |

You could setup the radiator at the bottom of the case and make use of the front intake to bring in cool air .. the bottom of the case might need to be cut to setup the radiator .
even if u put the rad on the top but ur fan configuration determine the airflow .. taking cool air in through the rad and exhaust through the rear case fan or using using the holes at the front panel to provide air for the radiator to exhaust at the top ... it all depend how u want it ... but if setup at the bottom definitely it would be exhausting air through bottom ... |

@nemesis94
As long as u don't cut away the part where mobo stand got installed .. that would be just fine ... besides u don't need to cut a large hole .. just card roughly enough for all your cables to go through .. because when u cut too much the plate would be a bit fragile and vulnerable to bent. |

The current V series is better. Also, the new V series should be more expensive when it is launched in Msia.
Btw, anyone here using PCB25?? Anyway, check out the new TYR series. The mid tower looks very tempting to me. In addition, the internal is now anodized black. A good move by Lian Li. ![]() ![]() ![]() TYR PC-X500 ![]() ![]() ![]() TYR PC-X2000 This post has been edited by hypermax: May 31 2008, 11:56 PM |

I'd not go for further length unless the graphic card needs the space. ..
The longer the length the less air pressure from intake fan .. |

@msyafiq_m
I'd rather recommend A05 loh since it could fit your entire setup with much problen. Since u want to be able to move around with it .. it's a beter option and only cost RM348 ... @E-J@1 A16 just too big for me to move around next time ... arr !! |

LOL...if my view on the lian li sata connection is correct, connection board usually is just PCB based connection. non flexible...non moving parts, no ICs. so should be problem free. I've never seen a failed plain connection board in my life working in high sensitivity electronic company. unless ppl go bend them. haha...
add: even if the board fails, we can revert back to old sata cable style anytime! This post has been edited by SpikeTwo: Jun 7 2008, 11:46 PM |

went to ATE last saturday..got to see lian li oem(as told by the ATE guy)..forgot the brand..but something like 'lancool'..the design is almost the same like lian li..except the material used..only the front panel made of aluminum while the rest are made of secc..he told me that the price is rm198..
that's quite a good price for a mid tower case in that class and i guess its gonna be a good competitor for cm (like centurion and elite).. edited:know oredi the name This post has been edited by renesisx: Jun 9 2008, 03:07 PM |

@vixxiee
More like u gonna buy it since u somehow gave a hint ... @E-J@1 Serious speaking this case for XboX looks SXXX .... Is a Xbox really that hot requiring so much of cooling effort and the size seems to e way much bigger than original Xbox case .. Furthermore losing the color theme on Xbox is really lame loh .. What is Xbox without the original color theme .... Seriously I really wonder what happened to the Lian Li company, they seems to be diverse to any kind of area where aluminum case would be needed ... might as well just venture into home theater Receiver case manufacturing.. they need lots of cooling and aluminum case loh .. |

Lian Li should try making cases for set top box. Astro box is so fugly.the XBox casing shown in CES is sexier than the ori one. looks elegant when placed next to other AV equipment. |

CPU wise 34c to 40c on 1400 RPM.
Graphic card wise still not certain .. but range from 60 to 85 using stock Iceq 3 cooler. This cooler really not as good as it claims loh .. lower heat and noise level .. I don't feel it loh .. that's it so far ... |

for the v1000z, i see that there is an extension where the PSU fits in at the lower rear. if i dont use the first 3 of the harddrive bays, can it be removed and the psu be pushed in to avoid the PSU from jutting out?

The drive cage could removed by unfasten the screws holding it from the bottom of the case.
that would give u more room for lengthy PSU... |

Yeah. I strongly believed that will be the price.
The anodized really "beautiful". Pair it with TRUE Black. Good? Dreaming2 ~. If the casing can last for very long time, I do not mind. @E-J@1 You sold off you Lian Li, right? So, what's in your mind?. Must be another Lian Li.. |

What can I expect the price for that casing. No la. Not even think going got e-atx board. Intel Skulltrail price RM2000+, right? Ridiclous for me. I prefer one proc and one GC. Even proc rapidly improving, so no need to get two. Same as GC. You get two proc / GC today, then 3-6 months later new proc / GC already pawn the two proc / GC. You got CF today, suddenly one card outperform. So get, one mobo with one PCIe and one GC. I'm investing more for casing. Please, let the price become cheaper. |

if u wanna move around the mesh area ur gonna have to make the holes for the screw-like plastic thing-a-ma-jiggies that holds the fan there. |

That mobo really got a very critical CPU socket placement that would restrict number of cases that it could installed with higher performance cooler. |

My main rig ATM, Lian-Li PC60 II Plus with 1xwindowed sidepanel which i bought from forumer here, Mr Zypher. Most probably the casing will be changed in 1 week time.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Maybe the worst cable management u can see in this thread. ![]() I know it's very messy and menyakitkan mata yang memandang ![]() ![]() ![]() The white thingy is actually the thermal paste. No time to clean it... |

Lian Li launches Tyr X2000 gaming tower
TAIWAN’S LIAN-LI has unveiled what appears to be its sexiest HTPC/Gaming Chassis to date with the Tyr X2000. Apparently designed to allow its owners to get at their optical drives and hard drives from the side panels themselves, the Tyr X2000 is also built to look sleek, shiny and make minimal noise. Like the ideal girlfriend. The six hot-swappable RAID SATA bays mean there’s also plenty of room to store films, with the company boasting capacity for “terabytes of multimedia”. The enclosure doesn’t lack multimedia ports either, coming complete with four USB 2.0 ports, a Firewire (IEEE1394), an E-SATA, and a HD AC97 Audio port. The motherboard tray is purportedly removable and ‘holey’ to allow for CPU cooling. With a Micro-ATX motherboard, enough space for no less than eight PCI cards, two 80 mm exhaust fans and water cooling, we’re beginning to understand why Lian Li didn’t include a price listing in the press release. µ » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « more pictures http://www.engadget.com/photos/lian-lis-ty...n-black/879707/ |
