I sat Trinity exam four years ago. In this year, I am going to try something new. That is sight reading blush.gif My first piece will be Sonata in D K 576 ( Mozart ), followed by Barcarolle in F# Op.60 ( Chopin ) and the last is L'isle Joyeuse ( Debussy ). What I hate is I have short fingers which fit nicely for 8ve sweat.gif If not, I can reduce lot of mistake. What are the pieces that you play?

Not pro. Just average level. I know what is the first song that you are doing. Sonata in C minor no.8, Op. 13 smile.gif All of my friend love this piece very much. I played this too in Dip. ATCL. For 20th century, I quite like Trios Novelettes especially the first novelette. The first one is quite simple and nice.

Thanks zzzxtreme, so sorry for the late post, damned I didn't checked this thread for so long.... BTW I already got myself Moog Moogerfooger MF-102 at JS Music. They're official Moog dealer in Malaysia. But too bad, the Moog products there are way too overpriced.
* And I saw a Voyager Old School there. Very NICE synth!!!! (and the price too)

Slim Phatty or Little Phatty is my next target....

Hope for more topics about synths/keyboards here....

DUnno much about organ.... But touch on it some times ago.... the octaves in organs are different from piano...higher iirc... and you can learn organ first then transfer to piano anytime.... more or less the same besides the touches are different & piano requires alot alot more technicalities imo. and I dont think you play melody and accompaniment in organ as well.... someone to very this?

u mean as in the sound? So technique wise, if i ignore the octave sound I will learn the correct technique and able to transfer to a piano later?

Also i plan getting a keyboard. Keyboard is similar to piano right?

you can definitely start out with organ. what liez means it's the range of the keyboard. on piano, it's all standard, the "middle C" is there and it'll be always there. but on organ/keyboard, you can transpose so that same key but everything shifted an octave up/down.

what you'll never learn on organ is sustain pedal. as far as i know there's little point to plug in sustain pedal (if there's any port for you to plug in). but fingerings and size of the keys are more or less same, and as mentioned, piano keys are weighted due to lifting the hammer to hit the strings. It's not like digital stuffs, different players can sound different on the same piano due to different force/speed/touch hit on the keys by different players.

Yes, you could say that a keyboard is SIMILAR to a piano but it is important to note that they are NOT THE SAME.
Just ensure that you get a good quality keyboard with weighted keys, touch response with the appropriate number of keys.
