QUOTE(Felice821 @ Jun 23 2008, 09:07 PM) I went to Yan Yan restaurant yesterday after reading this thread. Can't denied that the Dim Sum is pretty cheap compare to Jalan Ipoh. only i recommend sang kuat. and you kena liok liao hahahaha. We do ordered the "Sang Kuat" as forumers recommend stated it is nice. But ended up, is quite expensive. For the small "Sang Kuat" it cost RM45. i only makan for RM 30 hahahaha. but yea, basically all price increase liao. cannot help it, harga babi naik, harga petrol naik semua pun naik. only gaji tak naik. i got 2 more places to recommend you all for dim sum. 1 is deep in sg buloh for the more adventerous people and the cheapskates like me. 2 is deep in jinjang utara for the less adventerous people and super lousy service. i dont normally recommend places with lousy services but i'm going to make an exception for this one. why ? coz its really really cheap and good. i never eat dim sum for 6 people amounting to RM 28 before hahaha. Haha Sg Buloh is abit far for me....nevertheless, u can PM me the coordinate to me if possible
@Danny - Those Sri Petaling Dim SUms hv been discussed earlier on pg 1 & 2.. My other recommendations for those in Puchong: 1) Yuen Garden - The better one from the other 3 surrounding Puchong Jaya such as (Maxim/Kam Hin/..?..) 2) Taiji Eateries (Previously Ming Court) - The better one located beside Puteri Mart Bdr Puteri (There are 2 others such as Hong Kee - having branch in Damaansara Jaya) & Hong Kong Chef -so-so) QUOTE(sharkteef @ Jun 24 2008, 02:52 AM) i got 2 more places to recommend you all for dim sum. 1 is deep in sg buloh for the more adventerous people and the cheapskates like me. 2 is deep in jinjang utara for the less adventerous people and super lousy service. i dont normally recommend places with lousy services but i'm going to make an exception for this one. why ? coz its really really cheap and good. i never eat dim sum for 6 people amounting to RM 28 before hahaha. went to Eden Dim Sum Restaurant at Bandar Manjalara last weekend.. dim sum quite nice.. but be careful not to take those in baskets.. they are expensive!
We didn't know and took some abalone and scallop dim sum.. abalone one RM8, scallops one RM5!! We ate 6 types of dim sum and the bill was RM30 lolz. Got 1 type of prawn dimsum.. they stack 4 fresh prawns and make it to a dim sum.. got 3 in each basket.. also RM5. RM5 for 12 prawns.. hmm.. ok kot? Ask for the price first b4 you take lah.. normal items like harkao and siumai are RM3 each. |

Went to Hai Thian Lo Restaurant in Klang a few weeks ago. Good Dim Sum and if you go weekdays after 1030am, there is a 50% discount. Not sure when is the expiry for this offer. Weekend got 10% discount.
With the 50% discount, it is cheaper to have Dim Sum than Bah Kut Teh in Klang! |

Signboard is in red, u cant miss it. 5 brothers opened 5 diff restaurants there in that area. i've went to all 5 bro's place and i'm happy with all 5 of them. pricing is something u'll never get when u're in pj or kl. cheap ! trust me, try 1 of them first. if u like it, i'll give u the wiki to the rest of the 3. 1 is next to the dim sum place, 1 opposite the carpark lot whereby the signboard is red and the que is super long. both open from morning till night ! enjoy guys........ The only dim sum place I know is Subang Jaya's Holiday Villa's only Chinese Restaurant, if I'm not mistaken, the name is called something "Four Seasons". It is ideal for those who are club members of the Holiday Villa Club. I believed it's Halal, because many non-Chinese customers.families go there to eat on weekends.(I am only half XD) Also, SO MANY VARIETY and it's tasty, yum yum. Now they have the buffet or ala carte dim sum type. I think it opens from morning until 3PM? Unless Holiday Villa is having the special 5 restaurants buffet dinner, it does open at night until 10PM+? and still serve dim sum, but not as many as the regular morning - noon/tea time schedule.
Yeah, that's all. The only other place I go for dim sum is in Hong Kong. =S |

Heng Kee Bak Kut Teh http://wikimapia.org/#lat=3.0855155&lon=10...=18&l=0&m=a&v=2 his brother in law - not so delicious as his, but still ok coz he opens later in the night http://wikimapia.org/#lat=3.0864315&lon=10...=18&l=0&m=a&v=2 pretty near each other. easy to find. and i dont know what your nice food is, so i suggest u provide more info apart from location, such as your budget, your taste, spicy or salty, your tolerance level towards each, and your expectations. that helps in recommendation. |

i live in ss2.. shop, preferably, that is within 30 mins driving.
chinese foods aint expensiev anyway, as long as dun order something exotics or extraordinary. budget no more than 20, 40 tops(that is for special case) bitter 3 sour 5 salti 6 sweeti 5 0-minimum 10-maximum dun think tolerance level is a good measurement though. it can be very subjective sometimes. dun really like thai foods, in other words not super spicy and sourness foods that give as much satisfactions as possible while i give away as little money as possible foods that is extraordinary in the ordinary or special on its own. hijacking the thread now..lol This post has been edited by pangning: Jun 25 2008, 05:20 AM |

janbo food so so only, jus had last weekends, its not super good however still edible lah.. 2 of us eat plus , tea, tax .. less than rm40.
Most of the dim sum menu is repeatable, like pork, chicken, shirmp siu mai, .. (dont order too much not so nice as expected, worst than Jln Ipoh's and Dim Sum world's ones) Their menu got like 40 items including dimsum, Baos, cheung fan, fried carrot cake and fried noodles. And the only nice thing there is their chicken wings and the tong sui dessert. Can tried once but I dont think I will go back there , cos food not appealing and service very bad. You need order only they send, but most of times need wait quite long. And better dont sit near entrance, aircon not working well and they keep open, so very warm. I prefer Dim Sum World, hmm tasty and worth the price, (RM3/basket) |

haha, i dont really remember how much i paid... 2 persons less than rm30 plus tea, but i remember the bai kut n siew mai rm3 damn nice, bit expensive also willing pay lror, haha, u so smart where to get delicious and cheap one ?
now everything icrease still expect rm2 plus? read the above posts before you post..most shops charged rm3/basket. i dont mind paying a bit more for good quality food, is like going to fine dinning , people still willing to pay for the quality, so what you say those who went to fine and expensive dining is water fish ? enjoying good food is like paying for enjoyment of life ( just like people who smokes and drinks) the dim sum shop is full on weekends , u think everyone is stupid ?
