Kinpachi Japanese Restaurant at SS17. (IMHO is better than Rakuzen)

Wak Dan Hor at Fatt Kee Mee Stall/Restaurant, 2nd Floor, Summit USJ. (this is a hidden gem, try it)

The Italian Restaurnat right next to Burger King, at USJ Taipan.

Tony Roma in Sunway Pyramid.

San Francisco Steakhouse in Summit USJ. (a lot better than The Ship, TGIF, etc.)

Chinese Nasi Lemak Stall in Wong Soon Kee Kopitiam, SS14. (2pm - 5pm only)

etc. etc. etc... too many to introduce. tongue.gif

Ok how about Asia Cafe in SS15, facing the famous colleges. Can cuci mata oso.

Then in Taipan behind True Fitness there's a Korean restaurant on the 1st or 2nd floor. If you stand in front of McD's and look towards the building you can see its advertisement on an electronic billboard. Forgot the name though.

In the mornings in USJ 11 there's a nasi lemak van parked in the housing area facing a block of shops. There's only one block of shops in USJ 11. If you like nasi lemak with freshly fried chicken check them out.

In Taipan also, opposite Kayu Nasi Kandar (up the road from SS15 McD's) there's a famous Hokkien fried noodles shop situated in a kopitiam. In fact there are two shops side by side, I prefer the one closer to Kayu.

A few shops away from Burger King in Taipan there's a pizza place. I can't remember the name of the shop, but they serve quality Italian fare at reasonable prices. Quite cosy and private especially indoors. They are opposite McD's.

Towards the end of USJ going towards the Kesas highway to Puchong and Shah Alam, I think it's USJ 18 or something like that. After the Petronas station keep left, and turn in at the junction. There are a few dim sum shops on the left worth checking out. Further down the road are a few steamboat places, one of them (AFAIK) serves porridge steamboat.

Ya that rojak guy used to have many ppl lining up for his rojak. I remember having to be careful eating under the tree cos sometimes there are crows in the trees, dunno when they will let go their breakfast on my rojak LOL.

Now that you brought it up, there are two other famous rojak vendors in PJ, one in Tmn Mayang (under a tree also LOL) at the turning off from the LDP towards the old LimKokWing, the other one is in Sec 17. As you travel on Jln Universiti towards UH, turn left after you see the Honda showroom on your right further up the road. After turning left travel about 100m ahead, you'll see the rojak stall on the left, and yes, under a tree.

As for good pizzas and pasta, there's a Marco's (IINM) in Tmn Mayang (I think there's one in Bangsar Village as well). For the Tmn Mayang one, it's across the road from the Kelana Jaya LRT station near the pedestrian bridge.

For me, out of so many stalls in AC, Sadly only less than 5 of them is good.

Korea BBQ.

Should be inside the Nanking Restaurant.

A few shops away from Burger King in Taipan there's a pizza place. I can't remember the name of the shop, but they serve quality Italian fare at reasonable prices. Quite cosy and private especially indoors. They are opposite McD's.

Someone answered bout this edi.

After staying in SS15 for the past 10 months, i have too my own favorite restaurants/mamak/cafes. Below are my humble opinions. Some may be repetitive, but it only goes to show how good the food is.

SS15
Foh Foh- fried mushroom @ vegetarian store/Nasi Lemak Ayam Rendang/Claypot chicken rice/"Teh Si Beh"/"lau shu fen" dry

As You Like It- Curry chicken rice/Fried chicken rice/A'la Indo fried rice

H20- Bubble tea (i personally like their pudding milk tea)/"chap fan" @ noon only

2 bucks shop- serves vegetarian food. RM2 for rice and three selection of vegetables. Food are not bad for the price, although slightly oily.

Uncle Seng- Home-made wantan mee

More to come...... *To be continue*

USJ14 - pork noodle inside a supposedly dim sum restaurant... the sign board said dimsum but now looks like regular kopitiam. (near restoran de happyland)

USJ14 - behind de happyland the chicken rice stall also quite good.

SS19 - cornerlot kopitiam selling the pan mee, not bad.. have to take number though.

SS19 - after the field and malay stall, got 1 chinese restaurant make very good sweet n sour pork rice. yum yum

USJ court 3 - asam laksa in tien tien fatt.. quite good give alot of prawn paste, can ask for more. Same shop sells the pork noodle also another good one.

Well, I've stayed in Subang Jaya my whole life and somehow I have never tried some of the places listed in this thread. Must go and find already.

But anyways,

Pork Noodles in SS15 (same row as herbs and food; on the left)
Hokkien Mee (make sure to ka chi yau char - add lard) in SS15 (same row as KFC, corner coffee shop) - night time only --> Kwai Sun
Maggi Goreng Ayam in SS12 (Taj Curry House nearer to Dominos)
Tandoori in SS12 (the other Taj Curry House)
--> please keep in mind the above two Taj curry houses are different
Nonya Curry Laksa in USJ2 (corner coffee shop; the one beside Anggerik)
Nasi Kandar Utara in SS15 (same row as buy sell trade)

QUOTE

Pan Mee in SS19 (corner coffee shop on your left after you turn into SS19 via the traffic lights)
Ipoh Chicken Rice in USJ --> it's the shop lots before the Sekolah Wawasan)

Some of the things I could think of; sorry, don't know all the names of the shop.

I heard there's a beer garden in USJ14; anybody knows where it is? I have never come across this.

I always prefer to go to Wong Soon Kee Kopitiam during the weekend morning/afternoon for the wantan noodle, vegetable rice and definately the chinese nasi lemak stall.

If you're going for japanese food, my vote will go to rakuzen. smile.gif

Don't go to pork noodle SS15 these days coz have to wait quite long for the noodle, I found a same taste pork noodle in Paramount area (at least don't have to wait so long) tongue.gif

Well, if you want to go there it's best that you go either early (around 11 am) or late (around 2 pm). I remember back in the days where it was located at that sort of motel there were times I waited for an hour. That, or go there order tell the lady that you come back in like half an hours time or so.

Well i can intro you to one Chinese restaurant located in sunway area.
The location is quite hidden from the main road of Sunway.
It located at the sunway pyramid side of the road, went further down you will see a petrol station quite hidden next to the Sunway Inn near CIMB turn in to the petrol station there beside got 2 row of shop, its located at the first row once u enter there. There is one side with air cond another on with no air-cond.

Food that i would recomment will be
Hak Beh Pai Guat (Black Beer Pai Guat)
One of thier taufu is quite famous that you thought u eating steam egg insted of taufu.
The Fish dishes is absolute fantastic.

Give it a try and the price is very reasonable!!

Recommend a stall in sunway can or not?

Try the Curry Laksa/Kai Si Hor Fun in the afternoon at Restoran Lai Kong. It is opposite Sunway Pyramid, somewhere behind Yuen' buffet, corner lot. The food is nice, cheap and big portion. It is run by an uncle and aunty i think.

I've eaten there before. Nice peaceful environment. Easy to find parking as it is not in SS15 or Taipan USJ. That time my friends and I had the sort of balcony portion all to ourselves. My friend "kam cheng" with the boss he let us bring our own liquor without paying corkage. rclxms.gif

USJ11 the row of shops where country barn is located; in the middle of the housing area?

admire the german chef? haha...next time my girl friends ask me where to eat I should recommend TJ Haus for the delicious german chef then...haha...

Oh yeah, try the food from pasar malam. There's a pretty good nasi lemak ayam. The loh bak ko or char kuay kak as it is known in penang is quite good. However, there are two stalls selling it; be sure to get the right one.

ic, must try it out one day. The owner of country barn is from my church, haha...

There's this Nasi Lemak USJ in USJ14; which I found out that at the other corner is the beer garden.
The sambal there is pretty good; the fried chicken is not bad, but could have been better as it was slightly overcooked.

everyday cum? haha. It's near ldp if it's the same shop we're talking about. Monash that road go straight (Monash on your right), traffic light straight, then before the exit to ldp turn in left (you should be able to see the foodcourt). Last time when I used to go there often the food was good. Now I wouldn't know.

I know Halo Cafe in Pyramid has live music, but mostly Mandarin songs if I'm not mistaken.
I think One Station or is it Station One has live music too at times, but usually Mandarin as well.

I just realized borneo rainforest (opposite Sunway Hotel where Canai & Such used to be ages ago) has a live band; it just hit me.

I just had dinner at the one in SS15 the other night. Last time (quite some time ago) when i ate in the one in Kajang I remember their food being quite okay and a long list of menu. The other day the menu seemed to have very little things. My friend said their menu literally became smaller. haha.
Not too sure about when the live band plays there.

May i suggest you two eateries that you may like ?

There's one restaurant in Taipan called Restoren Ubi Kayu. It sells Malay delicacies and it's pretty full, especially during weekdays lunch hours. Do not worry because the service is pretty good (and fast, I might add) and the food's delicious too.

And the other one is called Restoren Jazeera (it has nothing to do with the international news broadcast, though), also in Taipan. It sells halal China cuisines, most of it is not available here in Malaysia, because it offers cuisine from many parts of China, such as SiChuan (the owner told me that it is spicy, so to those who like spicy food, try it) and other parts of China. My favorite is the beef skewers (it sells for RM3 / stick) .

Food in Station One is so so but ya i visited last week and their menu is getting shorter, perhaps it's now a standard menu across all branch. There's band on wednesday when i visit but they stop at around 1230, perhaps longer on fridays and weekends. Good for yam cha but not for food smile.gif

Both are located at Taipan. Restoren Ubi Kayu is at the corner lot, opposite the fruits shop, and next to the post office.
The food's marvelous !

And Jazeera restaurant has just moved, it used to be on the corner lot but has changed to a shop is the same row as Restoren Ubi Kayu.

It used to be at the corner shop, but has since moved to a new shop few blocks from the old shop.
(the old shop it now is a restaurant specialised in Pakistani cuisine, if I'm not mistaken)

I've been there too ! Here you have to remove your shoes and have to duduk bersila to eat.
Unique idea, but will not go down well if you sit next to the shoes and even worse if your friends have smelly feet ! laugh.gif

As for the food, they are selling authentic Bali cuisine, a welcome treat to those who want to eat Bali cuisine !

Yes! that burger stall has dozens of varieties.
And I mean DOZENS.
From chicken burger-beef burger-fish burger-mutton burger- nuggets-mushroom burger etcetetc

omggg, miss the chicken burger, but always have to queue long..
So its *recommended*!
*
Back in the day I remember having to wait quite long. Now they seem to be quite efficient. Probably wait about 15 minutes wait. I usually go at about 12am plus. Earlier I'm not too sure how long's the wait.

QUOTE(bearbear @ May 22 2009, 12:22 PM)
the burger stall facing which side?

mamak stall side?
*
Silvas and Darussalam that row. It's right opposite Berry Passion. Since Berry Passion opened recently.

Some reviews and pictures icon_rolleyes.gif

The rendang is tasty and if ur timing good the ayam goreng is newly fried.
Burger also quite good there.

Sun and Surf Cafe - buffet dinner not bad also, weekend have BBQ also more worth it.

Towers hotel atrium cafe - buffet is so so oni. better go sun and surf.

i rather do it at home myself.

Yuen is a good place for steamboat lah, who said they only serve fishballs? There're so many seafood and for RM18.80, it's the best deal lah.

And people who says their chicken wings are over-rated are people who are just too weak to fight for them.

if that's the case then i also liked

a) bellygood - reasonably priced, though cramped. not halal
b) las carretas - different experience as they serve mexican food. not cheap la but good for hosting guest (in expensive way)

Hmm, last I heard... There was some ruckus with the Tijuana people. So uncle robert moved to the one near INTI. Then I'm not sure, flew to the US and haven't really heard much bout uncle robert. But we still talk bout him!

Hes real nice though, sometimes would give us an extra bowl cause he doesn't have enough to make a full bowl to sell tongue.gif

There's this place in Sunway Pyramid called Pommes Frites. It's inside Asia Avenue behind the Korean street food. They specialize in belgian fries, pasta and mussels.

Ever since it opened, my girlfriend and I have eaten there almost every other week. Not kidding! You guys have to try it!

If you like aglio olio, their Seafood Aglio Olio is REALLY good. It's my favorite dish there. The fries (not the McDonald's type but home made and REALLY good) come with a sauce of your choice. I think there's over 20 to choose from. Poutine is definitely the best for me (it's brown gravy with cheddar cheese).

Oh and if you're really up for it. Order the mussels too smile.gif

I would say this place is affordable considering what I pay for pasta in other places. And the best part is, the taste beats those other more expensive places.

Pasta from RM10.90-12.90. Fries are about RM5 (including one sauce).

same row with uncle seng and the chu yoke fun stall.

Value for money. Get a big piece of fish and the soup is superb.

usj2 roast duck on van, is "ham ngap",salty duck, the meat is season to be slightly salty already, and the skin is not crispy.

it is not the same as Sunrise and Loong Foong, they are roast duck, rely on sauce for added flavour one.

But I like all three.

Yuen steamboat makes ordinary people fight for chicken wing by using reservation, provocation, desperation to promote it's chicken wing. They succeeded by using animalism in you but Malaysian have no pride, they don't mind. I have seen a guy using both hand to grab the chicken n also using the plate to scoop it.

haha... i think worse than that. Wanna see real Zombie, go to Yuan Steamboat... First those zombies were standing there waiting than when the chicken wing comes, those zombies will fight for it . if u read this, wake up dude.. !! think of Zombie and next time when the chicken come out, just sit there and just repeat this in your thought
" It just a chicken" . I could DIY at home... buy chicken wing and than pour lots of honey and kicap... u will get the same.
if u see the photo of that chicken wing is shiny. Just add some butter in the end... that will look glossy chicken ..hahaa

yes tom, people here like to waste food. I read an email recently that malaysian went to germany and got compound in the restaurant for ordering more than needed which is illegal there for wasting resources. can't really authenticate this email but i think it's true.

just imagine children looking at the adults fighting for chicken wing. they will follow and one day we can't expect to be treated well when we get older.

BTW i fully agree on the comments of Yuen steamboat chicken wings... i like it... but the steamboat is so-so... not only that i've only been there twice on the nudgings and pullings of my friends... havent step foot there for 3-4 years.... was 'culturally' shocked by the stampede.....

personally.... i think its not worth the stampede and cannibalistic behavior.... therefore i avoid at all possible cause icon_rolleyes.gif

Apart of that guess many people mention BKT in SS14 but did not specify exactly which wan. Not all are nice and my recommended choice will be

Restaurant Chuan (Klang BKT) - their strong aroma of Bkt with fragrance fried onion rice just nice and affordable.

Sumika - not many people know about this place in SS15 (same row as Salmon Steak). famous for their variety of sake and japanese skewers..

Newly open Pontian WTM (average) and Home Made Fish Head Noodle (branch from MV and kota damansara)...

Subang is like that one. Speaking from 18 years of experience living in ss15. The Beans cafe memang jatuh standard a lot.

But I'm surprise nobody has recommended Snowflakes yet. But be warned, its right smack in front of Asia Cafe and not to mention the line is very long at times.

Best recommendation? If you find a parking (somehow), have a nice lunch at the wet market top floor. The economy rice is dirt cheap from what I heard, then take a slow walk to Snowflakes and enjoy your dessert there.

At night? I don't recommend at all. Unless you're daring and bold then by all means.

nyonya style fried noodle?

not everyone likes it but i do!!been eating it since i was a kid following the stall since it has move around subang.

Started with a kopitiam which is currently occupied by Secret Recipe.

Then they branch out to both AC and another kopitiam (same row as SS15 KFC but now its closed)

The only place to have it now is at AC. I always order noodle with kuih only (normally they have tau kua and potato in it)...but not many ppl appreciate the taste like i do biggrin.gif

If looking at thai cuisine, would prefer Sri Ayutthaya in USJ 11 instead..

AH OR Chu Yuk Fun - taste drop, too oily, careless in taking down orders, poor service..

b) las carretas - different experience as they serve mexican food. not cheap la but good for hosting guest (in expensive way)

Las Carretas is a good alternative for birthdays (no more TGIF.. the whole stand-on-the-chair-give-speech thing is getting old). They will get their waiters to sing for you, give you a free slice of cake and also give you a birthday card! Kinda nice atmosphere. Very fun people in the house too since more foreigners there.

Undeniable wong soon kee nasi lemak that opens only at 2pm is very nice and their chu cheong fun also.

There is another nasi lemak stall in front of the SS19 shell petrol station that opens only weekends and not regularly open is quite fantastic. Definitely home cooked by the old Malay uncle and opens bout 7am and finish selling before 10am. His sambal is like volcano thus sure to spice up your morning for those chili lovers.

Another good one is the one selling by a car in front of HSBC south tower. Every morning by 8.45 gone.

Roast Duck in USJ 2 for take away only..

Added on October 7, 2011, 11:57 amAs many know AHWA Hokkien mee in Jalan 222 is quite famous and they have several branch around Subang and USJ. One of it is in SS15, Restaurant Kwai Sun, while another one is in Restaurant Seng Kong, USJ.

All this branches are operated by brothers and now another one in SS14, Restaurant Unlimited. This branch previously located in restaurant behind Seng Kong, USJ and now shifted to SS14 two months ago. The stall in very visible located along those SS14 ba kut teh shops opposite Maybank, SS15. The place is now more convenient as the area has less traffic and the shop is less stuffy.

The restaurant you mention if not mistaken is called Restaurant Yit Mun which is a branch for Restaurant Yut Moon in Klang town area. There are not just famous for their bbq dishes like roast duck, char siew and siew yok but also there signature ginger and assam steam fish. You may also enjoy wan to try their yun choi in superior soup (xiong tong yun choi) and also claypot pork belly with salted fish..

The price of the place is also quite reasonable. Tried bringing my own fish and prawn there for meals and they charge approximately RM15 to RM25 for cooking it depending how many varieties you want.

Look for Pelita in SS15, turn into that row and drive down all the way till you spot Hungry Hog signboard on the right side of the shop which is very visible. That road is one way ("Jalan Sehala") so you shouldnt miss it. End of that road will be KFC so you can choose to park you car near KFC and walk down ya.

I am looking for the Pan Mee that used to operate opposite of taylors in a restaurant called tijuana.
Still around?

Got anything special?

Look for Pelita in SS15, turn into that row and drive down all the way till you spot Hungry Hog signboard on the right side of the shop which is very visible. That road is one way ("Jalan Sehala") so you shouldnt miss it. End of that road will be KFC so you can choose to park you car near KFC and walk down ya.

I've already found it last night! biggrin.gif The next thing I wish to know is the location of Wong Soon Kee fried chicken.

How do you find the food there in Hungry Hog?

Wong Soon Kee is located in SS14 opposite CIMB BANK, SS15. Is on the other side basically. you can take u-turn in front of Metropolitan College the shop is facing the main road. There will be 2 restaurant/kopitiam facing each other namely Restoran Unlimited and Restoran Wong Soon Kee so you shouldnt miss that.

If not mistaken, that nasi lemak only open at noon bout 2pm..

More specific location for Wong Soon Kee restaurant
google map => 3.07274,101.589243

It is at the corner lot, it is small food court alike.. it is easy to find, just at the junction. And yes, it open on 2pm onwards.

I just passed by Hungry Hog that day but I will definitely try it out soon. biggrin.gif I tried Gold Chili instead, and hell I've been to Darussalam Restaurant for so many times but I never knew there's such a nice restaurant located right beside it. The buttermilk was really great even though it's kind of too filling for me. Will definitely go again.

As for Wong Soon Kee, that's some really useful information! Will try it out within these 2 weeks. Thank you! biggrin.gif

I've tried Wong Soon Kee fried chicken and the portion was so big. shocking.gif It wasn't like really goooooooddd but the fried chicken was so crispy and still yummy. biggrin.gif As for The Hungry Hog, I tried their minced pork with rice. It was nice too, like the Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice but spicy version. biggrin.gif

Hungry Hog not bad, the pork burger is worthy. Though the sausages had this very very prominent porky smell/taste. Almost gamey ('sou') and a bit 'jelak' after awhile. The ribs are supposed to be good, but have not tasted yet. Comparatively reasonable when the other pork places are charging >RM20 for everything.

Kar Heong along the same row as BKT shops sells pretty good Ipoh style of 'kai see hor fun', with crunchy bean sprouts. Like a 'nga choy gai' place. They have a branch in KD too.

Well Cook Gourmet has a special fried laksa, also on the same row. Other dishes not as memorable but good single portion meals.

In SS15, usually go for Pontian Wantan Mee (quality dropping though).

Pappa Rich, Gong Cha, Uncle Seng, Pelita, K3K, Hailam Kopitiam, Asia Cafe, Snowflakes, Jojo Little Kitchen are the other names that I have tried, but most being franchises/branches.

The Japanese restaurants row has Rakuzen, Jyu Raku, Tomoe, Kin Ryu Tei, Hyotan, etc. Jyu Raku is better than Rakuzen (IMO), while Hyotan (further down the same road) serves more authentic Jap cuisine. Pricier though.

Anyone tried the stretch of Iranian/Middle East restaurants on the same side as Ben & Nick's Diner and Subang Avenue?

Motormouth, please specify the locations clearly because I might want to pay them visits.

Oh by the way, if any one of you fancies Korean food, Da Sa Rang Korean BBQ Restaurant above McDonald's in SS15 is nice too. A little pricey though. smile.gif

Yeah, heard about the Korean food above McD from friend too.

Directions to ALL of the above? Eh ... I think you can Google for them. Since most places would be within walking distance from each other.

The row of BKT shops are in fact SS14 (correct me if I am wrong), at the opposite side of the main road separating SS14 and SS15. Well Cook Gourmet, Kar Heong are in the midst of the same row.

Erm ... Hungry Hog is quite hidden, but on SS15/4C ... same road with Pelita Nasi Kandar.

Uncle Seng Fresh Noodles is on the next road SS15/4B, the same road with New Restaurant Ipoh Chicken Rice.

Next is the soup where you have the choice of Mushroom Soup or Classic Tomato. As you all know, mushroom soup is always my favourite and indeed the mushroom soup taste good and really brings you the homemade feel. Especially when you are always been served with a smile by the chef, waiter, waitress, boss, lady boss and a cat...meow. A cat? No cat here sorry. Huhu...

Well, this is what my main purpose here for which is their main course. A selection of Cajun Chicken, Fish & Chips and Pasta with chicken/beef bacon/vegetarian marinara/aglio olio/carbonara sauce. Hoho...without a doubt I will choose Pasta with carbonara sauce which is my favourite as well. The taste of carbonara is different than any carbonara that I tasted so far. Very special and unique. Usually carbonara is more to milky cheesy taste. For this one, it has thicker cheese and lack of milky taste.

Actually, yeah .... used to be okay in the beginning, because the combination of sauces (chili + dark sauce, tomato) sounded novel back then.
They skimped on the portion, and the noodles got soggy the last I visited.

A quick fix, if I run out of ideas on what to eat in SS15. And parking's pretty easy.

Kong Sai has a branch in SS15 too, they serve the poached chicken with a side of mashed ginger, shallots, spring onion in a pool of sesame oil and possibly oil from the chicken's skin. Sounds gross, but goes perfectly with the rice and chicken.

Kar Heong is so so only.. I personally prefer the Restaurant X-Fren which located at the same row as KH.
Despite the slightly longer waiting time, you can try their Lala in Superior Soup because their lala is big and fresh, Ma poh tafu is a good and their nyonya fish as well.. DO TRY IT...!!!

Bak kut teh at Restoran Yu Kee, SS14. Very famous but standard seems to have gone down..

Fried laksa (very unique and extremely delicious!) at Restoran Well Cook Gourmet, SS14. Pretty near Yu Kee.

SS 15 and 14 I have nothing to recommend..
But at sungai way there's bak kut teh which is very nice.. Nearby a hindu temple one.
Maybe SS 14 I can recommend the chicken rice, quite pricey but not bad.. SS 15 only the pork noodle is nice..
Sunway Pyramid BubbaGum (seafood), Raku Zen, Pasta Zanmai also nice.
Check out Empire, there's a restaurant in Jaya One, the carbonara is really GREAT!

Guys and girls,

Where can find (preferably Chinese) mixed/economy rice in SS15 (where I'm staying) at dinner time?

The famous SS15 market stall not open at dinnertime.

I know there's one stall at Asia Cafe but any other recommendations. Is the RM2 Vegetarian Restaurant open at 6 or 7pm?

Recommendations for the best nasi kandar/Malay/Indian mixed rice at SS15 also welcome.

I went to kwai sun last evening. The mixed rice dishes quite tasty with strong flavours, unlike the bland flavours at certain other mixed rice stalls.

Furthermore, kwai sun also has a vegatarian mixed rice stall - will try that next time.

Hi,

A bit off topic. But I'm looking for daily decent lunch/dinner delivered to the house in Subang Jaya.

Are there any recommendations or personal experiences? Price also if you know it.

Thank you.

living in subang so long...
when i come back i goto these places mainly

Asia cafe for convenience - the curry laksa not bad. satay not bad. the crispy chicken as well. avoid the deserts, prawn mee and western type stores IMO
Pappa rich is pricey but convenient
Bakeries - RT pastry for bread > ?Newmuji for cake > TK > cakesense
Uncle Seng - curry version - try once or twice enough
Crispy popiah n siew pao - hawker centre near the KFC
Sri Devi or Pelita nasi kandar for indian mamak.
Ah ping bak kut teh - wet version
Numerous japanese shops opposite SJMC - Raku zen is famous but there are other more authentic jap restaurant along the same row

There is also always a queue for the roadside rojak van opposite KFC

(2pm - 5pm only)

etc. etc. etc... too many to introduce. tongue.gif
*
Yea, kinpachi is super awesome sauce icon_idea.gif

Here are a few stuff thats worth mentioning within subang

1. Sumika @ ss15 (yakitori bar)
2. Burger bakar kaw kaw @ ss15
3. The hungry hog @ ss15
4. Ayam penyet
5. Haikara style cafe
6. Woo Ga Chon korean restaurant

A word of advice, there are a ton of japanese eateries that only japanese only go to in Subang, dont go for rakuzen and those typical shopping center restaurants.

Try their ikan bilis, fish n lamb cutlet,Tauhu a-la king and Ox tail  soup.

They used to be really tasty, but not the same anymore. The Nasi Goreng Das/Mutton is good though.

Nop, but they have a love for football matches.

Next door to House of Lords there is another bar, not sure the name, but food is good too.

Anyone tried Jiro Shabu in Taipan USJ? How is it? Same row as OCBC bank. Got a sudden craving for something soupy with the current haze situation.

tried it awhile back, buffet steamboat style - limited to 2 hours. All the stuff for steamboat is placed on the kaiten belt so you don't have to leave your seat often, typical steamboat stuff - meat slices (pork, beef, chicken, fish), fish paste products, toufu products, veggies, pork meatball, taiwan sausages, seafood, etc. Two flavors of soup only, chicken and tom yam. Taste not bad. The thin slice of pork is gooding, and I like how the food will just roll to me.

got other non steamboat stuff, like tempura, fried fish, mussels, fried rice, fried crab meat on a stick thingy, and like two three types of sushi. I didn't really take this, so no comment on it.

hot and cold drinks available, like juices, tea, soft drinks. Also got ice cream.

There used to be fried cintan noodle (with pork + fried egg) that is open only at nite @ where the infamous 45mins pork noodle is now in SS 15 subang.

Used to operate by an old couple & they're open only at nite, been looking around for them for years now , wondering if they're still operating.

Nyonya Roots @ 3K Sports Complex, SS13, Subang Jaya

Just found this gem in Subang and been told by everyone I brought there to share it here. Penang Nyonya cuisine cooked home style. It differs from the malaccan nyonya apparently as it has a more northern, siamese flavours to it but still damn good food.

Innocently went in to make a reservation as I had an important guest who requested for Fish Head Curry and I was so glad I walked in to this little known place that's at the corner of the sports complex. MIND BLOWING GOOD! then i tried the mutton rendang, and its ORGASMIC! and to top that ... the kerabu beans, HO JIAK!!! kay i'm hungry again.

It aint your typical run of the mill type of a restaurant, with an army of servers and template flavours. It's really home cooked style, managed by aunties (tip: be nice) and you can custom here and there, then they cook it only when you order, so the food does takes awhile to arrive, but trust me it's worth the wait and the portions are generous!

So far, everyone I bring there gives a thumbs up... so thought, eh, might as well tell everyone.

They're open for lunch and dinner, very old signboard along the road, just turn in to 3k sports complex. Rather than get stuck in the jam heading to USJ/puchong, might as well try this first.

Be warned, portions can't be finished by one man show, bring along your kaki or else just makan the other food which is just as good thumbup.gif

Gold chili at usj19 mall. Now the lady boss's son took over as main chef. Their sambal fried rice, butter or mongolian chicken are hot picks. Very generous portion as well. This gold chili is the third branch after usj21 and ss15.

However if u happen to try the sushi mentai at usj19 mall i dont recommend because quite unhygiene. Spicy ramen is tasteless. Like hot water pour over maggie noodle.

Then, my all time favorite is curry laksa at main place AK noodles. To make ur curry laksa even tastier and more kaw, stir the given sambal as side condiment into the noodle itself.

While ur at main place u will notice a nyonya restaurant next to the LG entrance. It is always full packed with people. U might wanna give the cendol and curry chee cheong fun a try.

Char kuey teow at giant usj1 penang's favorite also not bad. U can buy the roasted or bbq chicken as ala carte to accompany ur main dish.

Tandoori chicken and naan at restoran khalifah usj8 is super nice. The food is prepared by a pakistani guy. Dont miss it.

Kungfu ramen at summit usj, if u are craving for china style ramen and dumplings.
