To get a better signal, my personal experience........
1) Try to put your modem near the window. 2) Locate the best window in yr house/condo/apartment/office etc for the signal. 3) Some of our windows may have mosquito screens. If you put your modem next to your mosquito screen, (what i mean is that the mosquito screen is in between your modem and the external) before the signal reaches your modem it will sort of disperse. Mosquito screen will act as a signal distorter. Either remove the screen or put the modem outside of the screen. But i find that it better to remove the screen (but u can close the window). Glass will not affect the signal. My thoughts.. |

how's the connection so far?? at one point i was trying to take maxis wireless broadband. however, after the technician came to my place and tested it, there's very low coverage so they cancel it for me. so i don't know whether i should get one or not because i actually need mobility.
there's one package from celcom which is very cheap, but then you have to purchase your own use modem. so that will cost me a bomb, so i decided not to take that. |

Connection speed in my place is quite good but I'm not sure whether is it because I'm a new subscriber.
Oh and about the 20GB cap.. How does it work? ? Once I reach 20GB then? ? I will be capped at the lower speed forever? ? Or just the month? ? |

Once you hit the 20GB limit, your speed will be capped at 256kbps for that month only.Oh and about the 20GB cap.. How does it work? ? Once I reach 20GB then? ? The fair usage policy usually will be found in most terms and conditions of a wireless broadband provider, whether they really impose it or not is another question. |

QUOTE(cloudstrife07 @ Apr 5 2008, 10:03 PM) I'm had some fun with my 56kbps Maxshit Broadband last month. Very fun, paying RM 98 per month for 56kbps. "Nice" company, "good" customer service, "friendly" technicians.QUOTE(yongkailoon @ Apr 5 2008, 11:27 PM) At the moment many tried UMobile and have all returned back the modem to get a refund as they have the 8 days money back guarantee policy. It sounds dejavu to me. Hehe, 8-day cooling period, and followed up by 2 years contract, it's even worst than my "favorite" broadband.QUOTE(gr44 @ Apr 5 2008, 11:28 PM) why?what is the prob..but the price so cheappp....rm78 for 3.6mb...sounds good ar....what is the pros and cons Cheap? Beware of the gimmicks behind, 24 months is not a short period if the speed is sux after first 8 days. And normally they will make u feel happy and giv u full unthrottle speed in the first 8 days, wat will happen after that? you can click my siggy to find out urself. |

I agree , during your test period. The speed will be superb , i mean no slow downs , constant connection and stuff like that. Once after that , you'll come into reality. Thats how maxis traps you. lets provide you with good connectivity for 7 days so that you wouldn't rant. Once you have made up your mind , its time to con you
The price is so cheap for 3.6mbps broadband. Dude its not even 3.6mbps. you can't even reach 80% of the speed , let alone 1Mbps or at least 1.5Mbps ! |
