this the speed captured this morning...donno how to explain
anyone

their speedcap is not consistent. their system will put your connection more often into the capped speed (0.06 dl/ul) once you have reached the 3GB quota, but if you are lucky, after a few tries of on/off/reset modem, u might get a connection of an uncapped speed. think of it as connecting via diffrerent ip address, altho how their speedcap mechanism works exactly, i have no idea. from my experiance, some months are easier to repeat this method, while others it is harder.

i use to be able to do this after a few tries, and eventually reached 10GB of usage while doing it. but the next month after that, its hard to repeat the method even when my usage is only 5GB.

btw, im using the huawei black modem, not the USB ones. so those using USB modem might have better and reliable ways to always get uncapped speed more consistently.

Is there a list of tribunals/comsumer associations that I can contact somewhere around this section? @_@ Search isn't helping me much.

Why not use Celcom BB. I use the 384kbps package and have full speed everyday even after I've reached the 5GB quota limit. Because I know how to reset the Celcom BB

Why no people think about trying DIGI BROADBAND?

It is the cheapest mobile broadband in market now plus no contract hook on.

YOu can check it from here.

If anyone interested to sign up with DIGI please pm me.

THanks!

Not only that, don't download windows updates, game updates, online game patches, application patches. etc.

The last L4D update was 120 megs, TF2 had a 140 meg update.

Don't forget all the other downloads also take it's toll. 2 to 3 refreshes on LYN is already a meg.

exactly my point. even for a simple Windows XP update (upon fresh install) takes over 250MB, and that is only the first update. consequent updates are easily around 50MB.

simply put, Maxis is actually BS-ing you when they claim that have conducted a survey and the average usage is 3GB. loads of bull crap in this IT age, when everything is available online, but with Maxis, they expect you to only know about, but dont touch it, click it, or use it. see only, no touchy touchy.

the average user (in Maxis term) are ppl from stone age who just gotten a pc.

My current updates from 31st of October to 2nd of November. For IE8 and MS office 03, Compatibility Service packs (MSO), 28mb, cumulative update for IE8, 12mbs, cumulative security updates/Miscellenous, 20mbs. Language pack updates. 26mbs. I'm not even including silverlight and other updates they have.

My usage is already 500mbs from the aforementioned L4D/TF2 patches, then the other updates that I've missed due to the effing 12kbit/s problem I had. This is on the 2nd of November. ~_~
