eh, previously if the user exceeded that 5gb barrier, the capped speed was 256kbps. but now the capped to 56kbps!!! what the f&*k!!! this is unacceptable.. if they badly need to capped the user, ok la.. but to capped to 56kbps is just too much..

indeed there is some confusion in Maxis's ads. It states RMxx per month for XX speed. But the actual (and hidden) practice is, the RM XX you pay is for speed guaranted for the amount of quota given, which is XX GB.

from my experiance, they wont cap u straight after exceeding, but once u have, u can expect it any time.

so when u want to do comparison between maxis plan wif other provider, be reminded that u cannot compare RM XX to RM YY for 1 month, because Maxis simply dont base it that way. U might think its unfair but that is exactly how they are doing it. the only company as tricky as dis might only be celcom. digi at least they charge u extra when u exceed the quota, and thats still ok coz u pay for the extra usage and u still get the speed to use it. but with maxis, u pay for a speed u almost cant use...unless u are happy wif 56k.

if you want to terminate any telecommunication service including maxis broadband and to avoid you from paying penalty..write several complain email to them and cc to MCMC..then call their service centre and complain..then said you want to terminate them because of slow internet service then ask to waive from any penalty..then you become winrar...(MCMC is very kind and will help you screw the maxis)..i waive my rm200 penalty..and some other waive their 1 year contract..

I switch from Izzi to Maxis since I am getting Maxis services free and to be honest, it is really slow. My office is located in 7th floor and my house 9th floor. Some tell me that its because of the height but it cant be so slow right? I am getting at most 300kbps. However, most of the time, its less than 50kbps.

^taken from maxis website

u guys think for light usage (everyday surfing facebook, email, ym with 6-7 times a week youtube streaming) the 1st package with 1.5 data quota is enough? considering at that place the choice is only maxis

With normal web browsing daily will easily used up 1.5GB. At least they are now being honest by showing us the bandwidth limit. Last time they will just hide that in their term and condition.
