QUOTE(krutz @ Sep 2 2009, 10:29 PM) hi, actually i want to overclock my q6600 on maximus II... i also want to oc it to 3.4ghz or 3.6ghz....but i dont know how to set "dram divider" to 1:1 Now just light oc ....@3ghz with everything on auto setup... Would be happy if got maxII owner to share how to set that divider 1:1 my old system CPU: Q6600 G0 2.4ghz @ 3hgz MOBO: Asus Maximus II (P45) RAM: OCZ 2gb kit DDR2 1066mhz COOLING: Xigmatek Archilles GPU: Gainward 4850 CASE: CM 690 PSU: Thermaltake 750w Regards krutz zero if u want to set 1:1 u have to make sure the FBS & DRAM speed are same...example should be like this 200mhz FSB : 200MHz DRAM = 1:1...... correct me if im wrong ... @krutz,
You can use Memtest to test the RAM. I found it is more accurate to test the RAM compare to Memtest86+ in DOS mode.

@krutzmind sharing your bios voltages and settings i know M2F have a slight tendency to overvolt, especially when set auto carefull on your PLL... on auto it can go up to 1.8v another point worth mentioning is the temp on NB M2F has a slight contact problem on its heatpipe assembly despite how gorgeous it looksssss :cheer:

i think you need very high Vnb to get to 500fsb with quad.

QUOTE(overclockalbert @ Sep 18 2009, 02:46 AM) i think you need very high Vnb to get to 500fsb with quad. Actually you need 1.3x V to get it at 500FSB on a P35 so I believe P45 would be around the same or lesser.

@kilowatt Probably ur mobo reached its limit and can't clock the Quads (specifically Q9550) beyond 480FSB+ stable . AFAIK, the mobo that could bring the Q9550 to 500FSB stable is Gigabyte P45-UD3

For me... 0.2GHz increase isnt worth the price... plus there's no guarantee that Q9550 will reach 500FSB stable on every Gigabyte P45-UD3 mobos... Remember.. OCing depends on combination of mobo, ram and proc. My mobo could reach 500FSB but i couldnt get my Q9550 stable beyond 480FSB until now... It is always good to have a good cooling system when you trying to test and OC your hardware.
