QUOTE(campsol2k @ Aug 9 2009, 06:24 AM) If u dont mind, u might wanna consider ASUS Rampage Extreme. Good OC Board. Support CrossfireX x16. Striker II Formula... totally not recommended for heavy OC n 45nm procs. But if u still insist on going for SLI, I recommend you go for Striker II Extreme instead. On the other hand, it supports DDR3/plenty of USB ports at the back IO panel (6 ports).... the only thing is SII Ext. is expensive.... Else Maximus II Formula is recommended if u want reasonably priced/very good overclocking/stable/DDR2/6 ports USB@back IO motherboard. I don't know about MSI though... maybe someone could advice on this matter... Added: you can go for Asus Striker II NSE.. cheaper alternative.... Asus Maximus II Formula is my 1st Asus Performance Mobo i ever used & im very satisfied with this mobo

Would be happy if got maxII owner to share how to set that divider 1:1 my old system CPU: Q6600 G0 2.4ghz @ 3hgz MOBO: Asus Maximus II (P45) RAM: OCZ 2gb kit DDR2 1066mhz COOLING: Xigmatek Archilles GPU: Gainward 4850 CASE: CM 690 PSU: Thermaltake 750w Regards krutz zero if u want to set 1:1 u have to make sure the FBS & DRAM speed are same...example should be like this 200mhz FSB : 200MHz DRAM = 1:1...... correct me if im wrong ... QUOTE(overclockalbert @ Sep 18 2009, 02:46 AM) i think you need very high Vnb to get to 500fsb with quad. my NB is 1.4v...i think its oredi enough maybe or need more?.. QUOTE(clawhammer @ Sep 18 2009, 02:57 AM) Actually you need 1.3x V to get it at 500FSB on a P35 so I believe P45 would be around the same or lesser. hmm...maybe i will try 1.37v...coz im not going to use too high vcore coz wanna make sure the temp low...else i just stick with 4ghz...

QUOTE(campsol2k @ Sep 18 2009, 06:04 AM) @kilowatt Probably ur mobo reached its limit and can't clock the Quads (specifically Q9550) beyond 480FSB+. AFAIK, the mobo that could bring the Q9550 to 500FSB is Gigabyte P45-UD3 yup thats wut im thinking ...but dunno it is worth it to go for P45-UD3P to get 500fsb + with low vcore ...
