true, the speakers getting many and the surrounds will be more deep and real.

For me, I would only adopt 7.2 the most. 9.1 setup is downright space consuming. Peasant cant afford to buy a bigger house for that

I think the current lossless format should stay for abt 4 years or so just like Dolby Digital EX and DTS-ES did previously.

my small apartment only can setup 5.1 ... till I get slightly bigger house in future

until i get my projector, if not i stay with 5.1 1st

the surrounds got more fuller and deep. and all the yammys DSP program effects got deeper..

Yes, but it is better to have this. Sort of 'Future proofing' mah Can utilise whenever the BD is encoded in 7.1

lets say i have a 7.1 set up, wen playing EX or EX, the rear 2 speakers will act as one?

u still can opt to select 5.1, which will automatically 'shut-off' those rear surr spkrs.

if the media is originally 7.1 or EX, rear surrounds will act as 2...

if the media originally 6.1, receiver which has the capability (like yammy's DSP program or DTS Neo 6 or ProLogic IIx) will make it as 2... if dun hav these, it will act as one...

and those presence speaker will contributes to the effects (11.2 setup / 9.1 setup)... not the surrounds...

effects e.g dialog lift, speech clarity, extra ambiance (cool tho, e.g playing shooting scene, will add the realism) and so fourth...

IMO.. unless u hv a huge room, there really is not much to gain in goin 7.1 from 5.1..

7.2 speaks from a 6.1 avr user
