Satellite tends not too good in bass...most satellite range are 90hz - 20kHz... floorstanding will begin at min 50hz (some full range one started at 30hz) and hitting 30Khz - 50Khz for some higher range models...the sound will be fuller, more dynamic and details.... compare the size of the speakers itself will see the diff lar...4" vs 6.5"...that's a lot of bass there

I would go for the 605 + Jamo S606 (floor stander) package which HN quote for RM4300.

why aims for those high frequency when our ears cant? I would prefer the speakers to be able to go low. If possible, lower than 35Hz. But, pricey

I think anything above 20khz won't be noticeable since our human ears can only hear up to 20khz but that depends on our age, as we get older, our hearing range will decrease so uncompressed PCM might sound just like normal DD track. Better enjoy while we are young, if not later old liao, DD and DTS also sound the same. QUOTE(htkaki @ Mar 20 2008, 04:16 PM) why aims for those high frequency when our ears cant? But, it is good. Any speakers that go lower than that are quite expensive nowadays.

QUOTE(rx330 @ Mar 21 2008, 12:26 PM) me still blur abt this hz thing the lower the better? The lower the spkr can goes, the deeper bass it could generate. More ooomph. But, bear in mind that it normally requires morem power to drive if to compare to less 'capable' spkr. For the next gen AV, you can set diff crossover for each channel. If you have very good spkrs, then you can utilise its performance instead of wasting it by setting a higher crossover. Taikor, your huge Jamo can go how low?

Are you sure on the sensitivity? It's a mistake, I guess. Mine is 95dB @ 1W/1M QUOTE I guess decent subs can do at least 26HZ, the lower the better. I guess I'm used to the bass generated by REL and Velodyne subs, really convincing and power My 12" sub goes as low as 25Hz, which is same as CHT-12R. However, this US co went bust more than a decade Very decent sub.
