i think this is not right... ISP should always get ready to provide a good service, regardless of how many subscribers they have... if everyone like this, we'll never get a good broadband in Bolehland...
*
of course that's the core idea for each isp to provide utmost service to its customers ...

but the inherent problem is infrastructure cost vs consumption/market demand.

see at celcom broadband: nationwide coverage, but speed is so-so. It's accessible to anyone, though.

the rest like digi/maxis/umobile: building more and more coverage, speed is above average. expanding it is costly. what these telcos do is balancing the fine line between expansion and subscription: more subscribers = more revenue = more resources to expand.

so now, almost 100% streamyx users are getting alternative broadband line. viable solutions are wireless bb. this is where digi/maxis/celcom/umobile comes in to steal our heart and market biggrin.gif

The website in the first post doesn't seem to be functioning. Anyone knows where can I check for coverage?

I just want to know if Puchong is covered. smile.gif
*
if puchong have 3g coverage, then it's covered.

if i'm not mistaken, puchong coverage is fully 3g.

Note: Click the Klang Valley. It shows which city is covered here.

that's strange: isn't all HSxPA modem function the same? shocking.gif there is only one standard, so there shouldn't be any incompatibilities at all.

anything that is uploading will be slow .. u mobile = maxis upload speed ...

the only best service for uploading is Digi's 3G broadband. next would be Celcom (but this is lousy nowadays) ...

P1 WiMAX is good too, but this is another service (non 3G)

for me, i use U Mobile 3G Broadband for download because i'm getting 3x than my 1M Streamyx biggrin.gif for uploading, i have to use Streamyx (~50K/s)

Thanks for the input.
I would also like to know how stable it is, will I face frequent disconnection?  hmm.gif

Also, I noticed that the upload speed is quite poor. Will it affect messaging on msn and file sending?

this is the coverage map when they introduced Surf With U package biggrin.gif

Is U Mobile enforcing the FUP already? My bro says he hits 5GB today and cannot surf anywhere...
*
cannot surf (browsing) or cannot download (RS, etc.)

if cannot download, probably the download limit by RS (or others) have reached doh.gif

for FUP, nope. Still as fast as hell (back & forth) haha smile.gif

@hanif444, if u can afford, keep both smile.gif

reason is that with streamyx, u're bascially capped with the speed u subscribed (can't go higher).

with umobile, max speed is 3.6mbps (~450KBps). As yes, i do actually achieve this speed, most of the time biggrin.gif

this lead to my question on your speed: 1.40 mbps?? do u get higher? or just always 1.4mbps or lower?

it's a well known fact that upload is bad.

if any1 thinking of 3g broadband + good upload + good download, then only Digi can provide that.
