One noob question on the auto gear.

Normal drive is is we use OD on (button press down)
up hill or traffic we use OD off (button release and light on dashboard)

what is the usage or drawback on this?

Thanks.

usage - for overtaking/climbing/coming down from steep roads and to smoke other cars on the highway brows.gif
drawback - higher fuel consumption, higher rpm, louder engine and more stress on engine and AT

basically,
with OD OFF, gearbox will stuck at 3rd gear maximum.
with OD ON, gearbox will upshift to 4th gear.

Added on January 16, 2012, 4:32 pmjust dont forget to OD ON while cruising on hiway and do not overrev too much into the red zone.

Recently my car's honk sound sorta run out of its original tone. Our car's honk is actually quite loud but lately when I press mine its like a muffled sound... anyone experienced this before?

Don't dare to press my honk now, sounds more like a motorcycle honk, hahaha. Can DIY or have to change? Feels like the valve is stuck somewhere.

check both honk behind front bumper. one on right and one on left.
i think the left one is for low pitch and right is for high pitch. (forgot which side is what sound..)
if one is not connected (wire loose) and only one is giving out sound, the sound may come out a bit odd. hehe..

Thanks for your reply! I will check later...I'm guessing the wire came loose, cz I scraped my front bumper the other day over the kerb. shakehead.gif damn careless. It really sounds odd now, like out of pitch...hahahaha

Added on February 18, 2012, 11:01 pmoh ya, bro NeuroOne... just to clarify one more thing.. for the ABS warning light, how to determine if its abs pump or sensor problem?
Has been on for very long already but didn't care about it... feel like unplugging the light behind the dashboard.. haha
My regular mechanic also cannot point out the problem..

Hi,

Just bought a 07 Silver V6 with about 70,000kms on it.

The owners manual though are missing. Was just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get hold of a copy? digital is fine with me.

Trying to understand the car a little more.

Thanks

ABS or not doesn't mean one can drive like a jerk...always keep a safe distance from the car in front of you

guys im getting my perdana 00" downgraded from altezza.
but the power i knew is not as powerful as altezza. but was planning to transplant FTO 6A12 mivec, into it. how much probably will cost for the engine and labour. 1 more, after transplant FTO6A12, do i need to change GB or just stck to stock?

just n noob question. if were to have better fuel saving. stick to stock 6A12, or transplant 6A12 mivec is better?

^straight 6a12mivec lar... v6 mivec sounds so good, kicks in at 5500 all the way to 8200rpm.

my last fto mivec achieved 7xxkms per tank (60ltr).

one common problem is the tappet noise which is hard to fix as the parts very hard to find.
no need fix also can, just the tappet noise very loud/annoying.

ABS warning light will come out if its related to ABS system.
to know which part is problematic, u have to check with MUT or any software that can translate the data from ECU.
u can go to Proton and ask them to check using MUT..

cannot put FTO mivec coz its 'terbalik' = engine on driver side.
Perdana = engine on co-pilot side.

if u want Mivec or Mivec-MD, search for halfcut from Galant or Eterna or Emeraude.
usually they are labelled Visage-R.

for fuel save, 6A12 NA is better than 6A12 Mivec. but 6A12 Mivec-MD is better than both..

or just transplant manual gb to the Perdana's 6A12 NA.
