My perdana V6 '05 alfa version recently experiencing slow pick-up i.e. feels heavy especially during stop and go traffic jam and at traffic lights. This is more of an on and off situation but has become more often lately.

Wondering if it is because of dirty air filter? or spark plug problem? still a long way from next scheduled servicing so wana do some DIY troubleshooting first. Anyone can explain this situation?

how long ago u did servicing?

what other symptoms u hv experience? timing not stable?
might also be the fuel pump, not pumping enuff fuel..

*
Just did 110k service 2 months back.. 100k already did major service and changed timing belt. Could be fuel pump problem? Cz it feels heavy during pick-up but its ok as it gains speed..

Hi all, just out of curiosity..any other Perdana V6 owners here feel that their ride is too stiff?

as for my '04 alfa model, i especially feel that it is very stiff even going on slightly uneven road, yellow strips can feel every single bump and even dashboard starts rattling...quite irritating sometimes..

understand that change suspension can be very expensive, but any other owners here can advise how to soften our ride?

your suspension (spring and absorber) are still standard?
*
yes they are, didn't change a thing. The ride has been stiff all along, just that recently things have been rattling around, guess things are getting loose in my car blink.gif

for the bumpy ride, very weird

mine was changed to hi-lo soft hard adjustable, and the yellow strip pass tru is ok for me. installed that suspension ever since the TT is on my engine bay for about 2 years. with no rattling sound from dashboard.
*
Yah, the ride is very stiff for a comfort saloon.

Means your absorber is not stock? How much did you change it for?

ok thx for enlighten me...

what's most favourite petrol v-sixers use here???  thumbup.gif
*
Was using Shell RON95 then switched to Petronas 95 and it was worlds apart. Petronas delivers smoother power delivery and more mileage than Shell. Btw full tank RM90 gives me 450km - 500km. Still quite high, but better than Shell.

Your mileage is high ... It is automatic or manual ?
*
Automatic..still delivers decent power at the expense of bad fuel consumption

rm90 = 500km = 10.55km/L
very good mileage, this is hiway or combined mileage?
*
It's mainly highway, including all the rush hour traffic on nkve.

Recently my car's honk sound sorta run out of its original tone. Our car's honk is actually quite loud but lately when I press mine its like a muffled sound... anyone experienced this before?

Don't dare to press my honk now, sounds more like a motorcycle honk, hahaha. Can DIY or have to change? Feels like the valve is stuck somewhere.

check both honk behind front bumper. one on right and one on left.
i think the left one is for low pitch and right is for high pitch. (forgot which side is what sound..)
if one is not connected (wire loose) and only one is giving out sound, the sound may come out a bit odd. hehe..
*
Thanks for your reply! I will check later...I'm guessing the wire came loose, cz I scraped my front bumper the other day over the kerb. shakehead.gif damn careless. It really sounds odd now, like out of pitch...hahahaha

Added on February 18, 2012, 11:01 pmoh ya, bro NeuroOne... just to clarify one more thing.. for the ABS warning light, how to determine if its abs pump or sensor problem?
Has been on for very long already but didn't care about it... feel like unplugging the light behind the dashboard.. haha
My regular mechanic also cannot point out the problem..

My driver's seat safety belt completely malfunction, the retracting mechanism seem to have failed and is just hanging loose now. Any ideas where to replace it? Any accessories shop would do?
