the changes are more like minor improvements that makes a better phone even better...
so don't expect anything drastic except for da ASR thing which i finally found how to enable it...
its under setting>general>personalization>display>rotate screen rclxm9.gif i luv it....huhu...

so u have have two options.. stick with whatz worked for u ( y fix it if it ain't broken)
or u cud have the latest and greatest firmware wink.gif (nt very sure if its the greatest hmm.gif )

if u tired off reinstalling each app individually after formatting... den check dis out (i've not used it yet btw)
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

and someone brave enough can try the firmware hack on this version to check out if it still works with this version...
note: risk of damaging u're phone is very high whistling.gif proceed at u're own risk tongue.gif

With this feature, you will not need Nokmote or RotateMe anymore! It will be integrated on your Nokia N95 8GB

[/quote]

1)nokmote got many bugs...useless anyway (for me)
2)Automatic Screen Rotation (ASR) = Rotateme.........not NOKMOTE. So to some, they might still need Nokmote.

wut i did was made a full backup(excluding memory card)...
den i format the phone *#7370# (restore to factory setting/like new)
den format memory card (backed it up earlier separately copy/paste)

den upgrade... 15mins or less... phone restarted about thrice...
done...

restored only contact and msg using content copier
nw i'm installing the 3rd party apps and copy/paste files from memory card backup(only image/vids/sounds)
*

al3xband,
i meant the built-in 8Gb memory la...
its jus that i referred to it as memory card so that not to be confused with in-built memory(ROM)...

wow...i gotta tell u guys...this updating firmware is killing me...i'm using vista ultimate 32bit and whenever i update the phone..halfway thru there will an error saying "Nokia Service Layer Host Process has stopped working" then the updater will hang there...so here is a tip whoever encounters this....DO NOT take out ur battery or disconnect the cable...instead use ctrl+alt+del to close the program and launch it again...the updater will take sometime to detect ur phone...so juz be patient....then ur phone will be updated in less than 5mins' time.....

Called up Zitron at One U and it's V20. Checked at Nokia online also its V20.

no..the programs in mass memory will stay intact...juz that for some programs u have to manually install again coz the phone cant associate it...the best bet is the do a back up via the phone itself...juz go to tools>utilities>memory>options and choose back up phone memory and u're good to go..all the settings for ur phone will be saved as well
