Never post your IMEI on the Internet, someone could use it and do really stupid things.

Read the second post onwards from the top - here

In short some people can report this IMEI number (if that person knows what phone is it) to be a stolen phone, and the phone will be blocked from all major phone carriers. No matter what sim card you put in it, it wont work at all. Have a read at the article below:

QUOTE
IMEI refers to the International Mobile Equipment Identifier, a unique 15 digit code programmed into each mobile phone during production. The number holds information regarding manufacturer, model type and the approval body for the handset. The identification, bound into the IMEI when combined with the use of blacklisting and a connection the CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register, is one route to preventing stolen devices being used on authorized networks. However, if the integrity of the code relating to the communication of the IMEI with the network is not guaranteed, the device is open to attack. This is the case with many current handsets, allowing impersonation of the IMEI and again rendering this security feature ineffective and redundant.

The combination of persistent hacking against the IMEI, the prevalence of software applications developed for reprogramming mobile phones and weak or nonexistent security from some manufacturers has made re-programming a simple task. This has fueled street crime in many European countries where subsidies are traditionally higher. Accounting for
28% of all reported street robberies in the UK (Home Office report). Overcoming the security around the IMEI on stolen handsets can result in reactivation of supposedly barred handsets

Bro N95 users.... i juz update my phone...now can write chinese oledi....but stupid me forgot to backup my phonebook. Now lost all very very important contact. But i notice those pictures n videos still there. can i restore back the phone or something??? I need to get back all the contact.... anyway to do so???
*
Before updating your phone, you didnt use the Nokia Backup utility?

There are two types of memory's:

1. Phone memory
2. Mass memory (e.g 8GB or memory card on N95's)

The Nokia backup utility can be set to backup both memory's, but the default setting is to backup only the phone memory(e.g Contacts, Calendar...etc).

The update will actually wipe out everything in the phone memory but the mass memory will be left untouched. So if you didnt do a backup earlier on, too bad....all your contacts are gone. sad.gif

- Follow the same steps again
- After you put in the number of saved messages number,
- Press back and back again. Dont press the red button to exit, the data wont be saved if you do.

Lol, do you even have Nokia PC Suite installed on your computer? I think this is in the manual included with the phone as well.

- Open up Nokia PC Suite
- Connect your phone via the cable provided
- When connected, click on the camera button on PC Suite
- Click on Nokia Video Manager, drag any video file (avi,mp4 etc) into the video manager. Thats it.

Tired of ppl asking about the same thing over and over again without doing a bit of reading first. Oh well i did some research and found some news about signing applications:

Read HERE on how to sign your S60 applications.

Applications which CAN be signed with Open Signed Online:

Applications which CANNOT be signed with Open Signed Online:

P.S. Please dont ask for more info, if you dont know what they mean just Google them up and you find ur answer. I practically found everything there.

Probably MMS a bit expensive to use, not too sure about you guys. I use OVI Share and Flickr for mobile, much easier to post stuff and everyone can view it online as well.

Its ur settings.

Go to:

Messaging > Options > Settings > Text Message > Message Validity > Maximum time

Also change the settings of maximum stored messages in the "Other Options under Settings.

The new N95 8GB updates are coming soon, read more info HERE. Most likely the updates come out in order like:

1. N95-1
2. N95 8GB
3. N95-3

And there is the combo memory update. Not too sure what is it, just have to wait till it comes out.

the symbian hack came available before the update news, so if installing it now, after the update there might be unforeseen problems.
