...but on to the real question: on one night , would love to bring her out to a nice dinner (anniversary standard type la). not fussy whether its italian, steak, greek, french, western whatever...but what do you guys recommend? thanks in advance!

I expect jam packed crowd in Penang this weekend.
Most hotels are fully booked for the weekend.
Don't know what's the reason.

1. Can anyone recommend hotel that is around the capital city?
Somemore budget around rm60-150?
Preferably 3-4 star as we just a student?

But we don't know the budget of the car rental....we have valid license to drive, but we don't know the roads in Penang...
We are interest in sigh-seeing, shopping and eating....
We prefer non-Halal....

and do Penang have budget hotel? those around Rm50 per night one..
wanna spend around rm300 for 3-5 days just for eat, travel and shelter.. shopping excluded from the rm300

I tried making reservation at Tunehotels on 18 and 19 but there's no room available on 19.Check few other hotels,and 19 really dont have any rooms.Any events goin on at that time?Can recomend some good budget hotels?Budget RM80 per night.

leaving penang at 2nd day midnight..
Toy Museum, Fort Cornwallis, Little India, Snake Temple, Penang War Museum, Kek Lok Si, Bukit Bendera, Queensbay Mall, Straits Quay..

what to see in little india & straits quay?.. isit necessary to go those places?.. how should i fit those places or any other recommended places to my trip.. hehehe.. thanks lot ppl.. 

so straits quay is nothing but only high class dinner by the sea?.. thats all?.. is that a mall or something.. no sightseeing can do?

so if want sightseeing its better to go during daytime?.. or rather.. is there anything to sight for? LOL.. is the night view there magnificient? is it worth the time to spend and dropping by to see?

1. Is there like a boat ride to go under the Penang Bridge?
2. Is the 60th floor of Komtar (previously the restaurant) still open to public?
3. When do the Kuan Yin statue is lighted up at night?

....There are also many good food along Chulia St. but at the side road

Hello peeps, I'm going penang nearby georgetown with my 5 foreign friends around middle of december, yet I din't went to penang alone before. So is there any hotels that are nearby sea, or night market, or night club that is available?

Will pay with credit card.    but divide with 5 of them, staying over for 2-3night only.

alright noted. hehe night club of course that are fun and happening  but dont know located at where >.< mind intro? hehe since I'm driving.

Is Holiday Inn a good place to stay for its price or is there one with better value? Saw at Agoda the rates are about RM320 per night and have searched at various sites for reviews and many are giving thumbs up for its cleanliness and comfort.

However Hydro Hotel caught my attention at much cheaper rates but reviews are also saying that a lot of old furniture and prepare to expect some musky smell also.

Help anyone?
