Hi, i am also planning to visit to penang next month. the purpose of going to penang is to have the durian fair and good food there. any recomendation for the durian stall at balik pulau and good food? thank you.

You can try Tanjung Bungah Hotel / Paradise / Copthorne Orchid Hotel, not sure about the price of the sea sport.

There are more hotels who have their own beach, or you can rent an apartment at Rasa Sayang and walk to the sea

Georgetown City, kinda near to Gurney drive only right?

are those famous eating places (dim sum, char kuey tiao, asam laksa, cendol n etc) opened during CNY? i plan to go on 5th or 6th day of CNY.

any hotels to recommend which are easily accessible to those places? if within talking distance will be better.. budget: ~RM150/day.

Sister char koay teow suck.. The chef is now the son or change owners. Old lady retired already. Dont eat there anymore, taste like KL one now. The stall in front of it selling lor bak cant keep its food away from their very own hair. Have to ask them to remove it twice.

Big mistake by state govt to change the roads into one way again in kelawei and burmah road. This have shown the weakness in the road planning.

Planning to go to Penang with my friends for a vacation. About 10 of us and we plan to stay in a nice hotel by the sea. Currently looking at Hard Rock Hotel and Holiday Inn, both about RM400 per night for 2 person.

Anyone have experiences in these 2 hotels? We're going by car but if we can we want to stay in a hotel which allows us to visit Gurney area and some other nice places (planning for 4d3n or 3d2n) easily.

also, how is the weather like in 3rd week of Jan?

I am visiting Penang in October for a few days.

I am familiar with the island, been there many times. However, I wouldn't where to start looking for nice coffee places in Georgetown or at other areas on the island. Can you guys/gals recommend me a few places with great coffee and a good vibe?

Heard that Penang Gogo is not bad....
But quite a distance from town...
