A lala isnt a lala for dressing differently with a different fashion preferance. A person is a lala only when she dresses out of place and stands out like a sore thumb and generally exudes a vibe of insecurity due to her feeling stupid coz she's wearing thick wooly boots in our hot weather...and generally putting on heavy duty makeups for going to McDonalds. And yes, having ones hair made up as if one just walked out of some japanese comic too give the impression that one is trying too hard. A person who simply copies whatever she sees regardless of appropriateness is to me, delusional - a hallmark of a lala. A tip to girls above 20: Stay away from the cute look. Strive for sophistication. Class. Subtleness. Less is more. Yes, its actually easier to NOT be a lala than to be a lala. Where you shop matters very little. I'm chinese ed since primary, but people have no clue that I'm a chinese ed, base on appearance, acts and the way i talk. So yeah, DO NOT CONCLUDE THE WHOLE GROUP OF PEOPLE BASE ON ONE PERSON. QUOTE(Anni @ Dec 24 2009, 01:14 PM) The way they dress? Well a person lifestyle will influence how a person dress. Sungai Wang offers more oriental fashion. While places like KLCC has more high end western brands. But the bottom line is Malaysians are influenced by Malaysia culture. it varies... i said generally... in specific though... there are lots of variations... i'd prefer to know tat specific person b4 judging wat type tat person is instead of judging them based on whether they studied in a chinese school or not... The debates here show that most the chi ed girls are childish, stuck up, conservative. While the eng ed girls are the opposite. I don't know much eng ed people to compare. But alot of chi ed people I know are very open minded and mature. Still growing up in the same country and shared the similar education do not differ people with different background that much. |

QUOTE(Anni @ Dec 24 2009, 01:33 AM) Eng ed and Chi ed people look the same. Except they speak different language, watch and listen different movies, songs. Both went to school for 12 years with school uniform. Took upsr, pmr and spm. Learned Malay and Moral. Celebrate CNY. This is true. People often misunderstand that English ed girls will be somewhat 'angmoh' in their ways of thinking and life. Whether or not one tends to act like an angmoh or be like her ownself regardless of which type of education she's receiving is entirely up to herself. A Chinese educated girl can be wearing top notch designers clothing and accessories without looking any bit like a stereotyped lala Chinese ed girl. Also Eng ed is no way close to a westerner. QUOTE(kevin23 @ Dec 25 2009, 10:31 AM) English Ed girls stay around I am English educated together with my bunch of friends and we live in Ampang and Cheras area..some even in Setapak area. Therefore your observation/classification is not valid.Subang Jaya PJ Damansara Mont Kiara Hartamas Chinese ED girls stay around Kepong Cheras Puchong Klang Selayang Ampang Jinjang Setapak There is alot of differences but also depends on how she is brought up by parents... Fully agree with you. Why make searching life partner so complicated and categorising people? Everyone has his likes and dislikes. One shouldn't be judging(tho sometimes I admit I do judge people..I try not to nowadays) a person him/herself based on the education because that doesnt determine that the girl is less worthy if she's not from your preferred education background. |

I can agree with your reasoning but your example seems to suggest that wearing 'top notch designer clothing' means being close to being a westerner? What I have in mind about being close to being a westerner was more along the lines of mentality. For example, giving way on the roads, more eco-friendly lifestyle, don't cut queues, flush after use, spitting in public, and i can go on forever... |

still a very very big generalization. Cheras is a HUGE chinese area ... you can't say that they're mostly chinese educated.
