Joseph Gordon-Levitt As Batman? 'Dark Knight Rises' Star Could Appear In 'Justice League'
Just because Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy ended with "The Dark Knight Rises" doesn't mean that it actually ended. According to HitFix's Drew McWeeny, Warner Bros. is toying with the idea of casting "Dark Knight Rises" star Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Batman in the studio's upcoming "Justice League" and could unveil the casting as soon as next summer, when "Man of Steel" arrives in theaters.
for justice league movie to be success like avengers, it need someone with charisma like ironman in avengers. i believe that supposed to be batman. its difficult especially with different character than dark knight actor. they should have someone play batman first to solidify him as that character before straightaway jumping in justice league movie.
or just take the easy way out, never show who the batman is even to the viewer to make him mysterious even though we will know from the credit scroll
EXCLUSIVE: We Know Who The Bad Guy Is In ‘JUSTICE LEAGUE’
QUOTE
Mayimbe here…
So back in October, Ben Fritz over at the L.A. Times reported that Warner Bros is running full steam ahead with getting a Justice League movie on the big screen by summer 2015.
As of this morning, the search is still ongoing for a director and subject to how Man Of Steel performs, shooting should get underway next year. Now in case you been living under a rock the past year, everybody else knows that Marvel is dropping the sequel to The Avengers that summer as well. That is some pretty stiff competition.
In this corner we got Earth’s Mightiest Heroes going up against Thanos the Mad Titan. How will Warners respond? Just WHO will the Justice League face off against?
Not a Titan, but a GOD!
After some persistent snooping, we have exclusively learned that the main baddie is none other than…
…DARKSEID!
Yes folks, Darkseid. The supreme monarch of the planet Apokolips and the greatest threat to the DC Universe.
It’s kind of obvious if you really think about it. I mean for Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and others to come together in a summer tentpole movie to face a threat, well, that threat better be planetary. Who were you expecting? Lex Luthor?
Now I’m not going to go into the whole Darkseid wiki backstory because there are other writers out there who can give you way better context on the super villain than I could. Quite frankly, the only experience I have with Darkseid is when Michael Ironside voiced him on Superman: The Animated Series. Remember when Darkseid killed Ben Turpin with his Omega Beams?
Anyway, there you have it folks. Bank on Darkseid raising all sorts of hell for the Justice League. Now as long as Darkseid doesn’t bring the members his corny entourage like Granny Goodness, then we are all good.
In fact, the following picture pretty much sums up Summer 2015.
Has the Roster for the Justice League Movie Been Revealed?
As we get closer to actual news about the upcoming Justice League film, be prepared for lots of rumors to circulate. Recently, two stories began to make the rounds that both the villain and the plot for the film had been revealed, but those haven't been confirmed by Warner Bros. Now, alleged details on the characters and team for the film have surfaced (via Cosmic Book News).
• Superman is essentially the same character from Man of Steel, and Zack Snyder is consulting regarding the writing of the character. • Batman: The strategist of the group. Batman doesn't really want to be involved with these super powered beings he considers too powerful. Easily the most complex written. • Wonder Woman: She has only been in man's world a few short months. The Wonder Woman script Michael Goldenberg is developing will be set before the Justice League movie. • Green Lantern: Will be Ryan Reynold's character from the Green Lantern movie, but will be freshly written with a more serious tone. • Flash: The most popular hero in civilian eyes who loves media attention, but when called upon is very serious. • Martian Manhunter: Alien who has lived on Earth in secret for over a hundred years who has knowledge of Darkseid and his reign. • Aquaman: Will be the King of Atlantis who has a key role in the film. • There will also be a heavy military presence in the film which in future rewrites could include characters featured in Man of Steel or even Amanda Waller (Angela Bassett) of which neither are included in the first draft. • Alfred Pennyworth is in the film in a minor appearance. • Lois Lane is also in the film in a cameo. • Darkseid's Elite will be featured who go up against the Justice League early on in the film.
Most of these are already a given for the individual characters and this is the first that we're hearing of Aquaman and Martian Manhunter appearing in the film. Treat these strictly as a rumor for now as we may not know the cast of the film for quite some time.
No director is currently attached to the film, but Will Beall (Gangster Squad) is writing the script.
'Justice League' Movie Bringing Back Christian Bale, Christopher Nolan?
Back in July of last year, "Dark Knight Rises" director Christopher Nolan said he had no intention of helping Warner Bros. with its planned Justice League movie. "We're finished with all we're doing with Batman," Nolan, an executive producer on the upcoming Superman movie "Man of Steel," told the Associated Press. "This is the end of our take on this character."
Or maybe it's not.
According to Umberto “El Mayimbe” Gonzalez from Latino Review, Nolan has taken over the comic book landscape at Warner Bros., and his first order of business could include producing the Justice League movie with Batman star Christian Bale attached as a possible lead. ("Subject to a script and deals being worked out, of course," stressed Gonzalez.) This deal would pair Bale's Batman with Henry Cavill's Superman character from "Man of Steel," with the possibility of other DC Comics icons like The Flash and Wonder Woman eventually joining the universe as well. ("Justice League" would be DC Comics' answer to "Marvel's The Avengers.")
That Nolan would return to produce "Justice League" is somewhat surprising, if only because he was so definitive about not handling the project last year. (As J.J. Abrams' eventual leap to "Star Wars" from "Star Trek" taught everyone, however, that which was true one week isn't necessarily true the next.) Bale's involvement is less shocking. The star said he would be happy to return to Gotham City, just as long as Nolan was involved and the script was good. "My understanding is that this is the last one. I think it's appropriate, I think it's going out at the right time," Bale said last year. "But, if Chris came to me with a script and said, 'You know what? There is another story' then I would love the challenge of making a fourth one work."
According to We Got This Covered, Warner Bros is "actively pursuing" Cooper to play The Flash in its long-awaited superhero team-up film.
The same source is also quoted as saying that Warner Bros is beginning to doubt the viability of Justice League as a project overall, which has been dismissed by writer Mark Millar as "an excellent way of losing $200 million".
"They're scared, they are starting to doubt the whole project," the source claims. "Man of Steel is looking to be a hit but they still have doubts about Justice League. That's why they're trying to bring in some big names to make sure this thing gets off the ground."
It has been reported that Justice League's fate will be determined by Man of Steel's box office performance.
Ryan Reynolds, whose Green Lantern role Cooper reportedly auditioned for, has stated that he is not currently interested in reprising the part in Justice League.
Warner Bros previously announced Justice League for a 2015 release, but scripting issues have now pushed the likely release date back.
