i also use pro package, with separate antennae i can easily move the antennae to get the spot for the best speed, i've never get good speed with the antennae on the modem only.
about the MTU, i dont know what is the best value, i just followed tcp optimizer recommendation.

btwn, juz check with u , is the antennae u using now is the one Rm38(from izzi site)? or the internal or external one? thankss..

Everything just suck at the moment either Emule or BT. I planned to hang around for another 2 months before getting my 6 months refund. For any people outside that considering using IZZI, be prepared for all this fuzz!

it would make no difference... the RM38 antenna is just the same with the pro antenna's strength. For iPro, you should be using the panel antenna if you wish to boost it

its not so much about the the antenna, its the positioning of the antenna. it is easier to move just antenna than to move the modem.

@wongzai
seems you got positive result biggrin.gif

I also facing slow BT download < 10kB/s since one week ago eventhough signal strength 100%.
I am using Izzi One package with antenna. Location Selayang baru.
According to Izzi customer service, they start to control BT usage like other ISPs.

Jeff, nothing related to you PC or antenna otr router issue.

BTW, FYI my BT download speed can reach 100kB/s if using Streamyx 1MB..

to bittorrent users, i believe izzi is throttling connection by how much you are uploading, try limiting upload speed. i did a test (http/direct download not bittorrent), when i download without using my upload bandwidth, download speed is around 1mbps but when im uploading at 10kBps (which is around 1/3 max upload speed) download speed dropped to half.

about the antenna, read my post below
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=17503404
it is the rm38 indoor antenna (i forgot to put the price in the post above)

i just got my izzi broadband connection, i got the izzi pro package. i live near Sg.Long

The sales guy was quite a good fella, he spend quite some time looking for the best signal strength by moving his laptop with the Izzi USB + Antenna. Of course i have to help him a bit too. So apparently the best signal i could get from the second floor (my wifi router station there) is on the floor. Put it on the table, it drop from 100% to 50%. Apparently, starting he thought my tinted sliding door windows were blocking the signal, so i got the sliding door open to the balcony & SURPRISE! no difference in strength, even he was baffle. So it has to station on the floor of the room. Walls are NO GOOD for the Izzi.

The interesting thing is, when i close my curtain the PING jump from 175ms to 350ms. Hmmm... 4G... Doubtful...

Apparently, i ask some question while the sales guy set it up for me, nice fella, maybe because i treat him a glass of Tesco Cola:

1) After 12 months, what is the payment like?
RM88/month, the reason, wanting to fight with Streamyx 1Mbps connection.

2) How to pay after 12 months?
He said Izzi will come out with something like a prepaid card of sorts, so you buy the Izzi payment card & log into your account & key in the code from the card.

3) What's the average signal strength that you get when he setup for his customers?
Usually only 70%-80%. "But i got 90%-100%. The thing is i got to put it on the floor on my seccond floor to get that kind of signal"

look like alot of izzi user facing this problem after few month later. is that mean izzi use same tactic like maxis 3G? reduce the speed after few month or few week. mad.gif

But they have a refund package 3 months & 6 months later, right. That makes this kind of tactic kind of pointless as more/less users are paying use per month. Throttling users bandwidth is a bad bad thing. Maxis has the worse reputation... mad.gif
