its quite hard to get a gaming laptop with such budget. most are priced over 3k. anyway, u can try to get a used one. still comes with Core Duo & a decent graphic card. it's enough for mild gaming i guess. smile.gif

I heard that Dell laptop wouldn't last long. The most is about 4 years. Then there will be all sort of problems like HDD... and so on. Is that true?

The Dell laptop all get heated up easily... so it is recommended to buy a cooling pad. True?

Hi guys;

Need some help here. I want to get myself a new laptop. Nothing fancy, just for net surfing, storing data and maybe a few software such as mp3, etc. (i reckon that laptop / mobile pc - nowadays are equipped with wireless modem, usb port).

1) What's the affordable laptop which suits my criteria? Looking at RM3,500 below.

2) Can last long - read somewhere in this forum that some processor (AMD) overheated, etc. Which processor is ok? Plus Brand wise.

3) OS - prefer windows. (BTW, what are the pros & cons of Windows vista ?).

4) About Mobile PC like ASUS Eee, are there any other models that you guys would recommend? I understand that Asus Eee doesn't come with cd drive. Again I'm looking at above (no. 1-3) criteria. Plus Asus Eee running on Linux OS, which I never use it before, scared that i would not get used to it. Is it ok for a person like me to own this kinda gadget?

Please advise guys which laptop / mobile pc suits my criteria.

Thanks.

Hi, I'm currently looking for a laptop for my little cousin. I would like some recommendations as to what laptop would be suitable for him. His budget should be around 2500RM, no more than 3000RM. He only wants a laptop good enough to do his work and yet is powerful enough to run Guild Wars. Brand and size doesn't matter either.

System requirements for Guild Wars:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Also, second question:
We also went to Low Yat the other day and a vendor told us about the Asus X80LE.

The specs of the Asus X80LE are as follows:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

I pointed out that the graphics card was integrated with the motherboard and thus might not be powerful enough to run Guild Wars but he kept on assuring that it was good enough for play Guild Wars on. So I'm just wondering what you pro's might think?

Thanks!
