install this sp1 one month ago...
got a lot of improvemnet

Guys little bit help please, after finished download this big fat 746MB SP1 for 64bit based system, when install it show this:



I strongly suspect this is due to I did install Chinese language pack in my comp, do I need to uninstall it first, if so, how do I do it?

Plz help~~

150% worth downloading Vista SP1.


Here are more of what I noticed after SP1 on my notebook Home Premium :


- games tend to load faster (strangely) (e.g. NFS Underground 2)
- faster UAC screen (which is great)
- pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del instantly pops-up the menu (no lag at all!!)
- faster copy / paste / data transferring, two and fro hard disk, hard disk to thumb drive, vice versa

- [my notebook oddity] - - when I hover my mouse over the round Start button, to the left of the bar holding it, the transparency would flicker once (Aero becomes a little darker). Now... NO MORE !!!

- found that most programs start-up faster, though very little improvement

- Aero interface is SMOOOTH...

- Control Panel loads up quickly (especially Uninstall option, where the tiny icons pop-up instantly, no lag !)


One of my the issues I had with Vista is start-up time. The Sidebar would take ages to load (everything else already load...). Now, it appears instantly with my Welcome Center window.



Only now I have the time to install Vista SP1 on my dad's new pavilion laptop...

yeah...just installed sp1 for my vista??basically,dunno what hv change,but now my safely remove hardware appear...

Alright I jsut found out how to remove the Chinese language pack, but now I worry after I remove it and install SP1, i can't reinstall back Chinese language pack... ...

hello..i having problem installing the vista sp1...internal error or sumthin...

just finished downloading sp1 32-bit version this noon.

but when i was trying to install..... "at least 3gb". then after cleaned up it became "at least 4gb" -______-

how many free space does it need anyway? is there anyway to install it without clearing my important stuff on C:\?

I installed it with around 5gb left... nothing was complaining~! Free up a little more space ???

i updated my vista this morning and i noticed the startup/shutdown period has slowed down.


and sometimes my windows explorer shuts down for no apparent reason(very irritating s**t!!!)

Hmmm.... before installing Vista SP1, it is very important to take several steps. Some have reported issues with language, and due to the "Chinese Language pack" installed. Others due to background running apps (like anti-virus, firewall). I closed all my background apps (see your taskbar). Or could be due to the state of your hard disk (e.g virus, spyware)...

If continue to have issues like this, just Clean Install Vista. And then install SP1.


Finally installed Vista SP1 on my dad's pavilion laptop. Super spanking smooth. Smoother than ever. Imagine, brand new laptop with Vista, and then put SP1 (not yet install any 3rd party software).... installation took less than 1 hour. Wow.

internal error when installing!why??

after installing it, i can't play FIFA08 thru direct ip wif fren. everytime also DC after kickoff!

install the standalone service pack 1 since WU can't detect service pack 1 for my vista premium

so far everything seem good...

after a few boot up,things does improve

my nforce 68i sli nforce network adaptor screw up after SP1....
i using windows vista ultimate 64bit...
it keep showing unidentified network... but i try to switch it back to xp with dual boot it work fine which mean SP1 FXXK up my network adaptor...
reinstallation is carry on but it still unidentified network...
once again bill gate "Szxk"

ok.. now vista SP1 is officially out.. how the heck i make a slipstream vista dvd with integrated Sp1?
