QUOTE(haya @ Mar 2 2008, 08:27 PM) just a question: what's a "comp meet market"? I can make a guess, but is it a shop, chain, online site etc? haya, where you meet other computers seller and mostly are 2nd hand.Agreed. I saw a Samsung Lazer printer at d*** Smith for something like $60 on special. Its crazy these days. The ink is almost as expensive as the printer itself! When I came, I did some maths, and I figured that at $0.09 a page from my uni, it wasn't worth buying one, as the costs will come up to the same anyway. With prices like these, I may have to redo my maths. Paper will cost a bit through. How convinent. I just spent the weekend playing with 3's 3G broadband. $29/month gets you 2GB, which IMO isn't that bad. Don't expect DSL speeds however. The ping time is amazing (about 350ms just to the base tower), so Skype'ing will cause some delay and echo's. Its not for heavy downloaders. General web surfing is okay through. Here in Brisbane, 3's coverage isn't that great. My friend who's on a 3 cap plan can't get a signal in the lecture theater, while my Optus prepaid can get a reasonable signal. You better be near a window if you want to use the wireless broadband of 3's in Brisbane. The other providers that I know off are Vodafone (5GB for $39), Virgin (heaven knows what they charge, but they use Optus' infrastructure), Telstra (the worst. $69 for 500MB?! In all fairness through, you can pretty much get a Telstra signal anywhere.) and Optus (not much better than Telstra price wise IMO). Never used the others, so I cant say too much. Some links if you want to do some research: Three Vodafone Optus Telstra Virgin i pinned up yours at first page. QUOTE(3ric @ Mar 2 2008, 11:16 PM) |

QUOTE(scmay @ Mar 3 2008, 02:35 PM) Added on March 3, 2008, 1:47 pm Yea, in the Bayside area. It's still alright, I know lots of people complaining about the z1+2 and would rather drive up to z1 to park their vehicles before taking the train. but...nah, not for me. But Connex sure is getting lots of complaints...very bad service during peak hr. This morn they stopped the city loop, something happened at Melb Central. I would rather complain about the hse interest rates. Its Myki(poo in sweedish) system failed to be deliver on time, 15 month behind schedule. today, the train station system main power failure causing outage and the whole city loop have to be shut down, next i`m just waiting for a sardine train to be in disaster. brumby govt is way too not working, building new road in city fringe not gonna solve the problem when the oil price up. the transport minister about house interest rates, the more it go up the better, coz too much house ard are overpriced and it is all build up speculation/ created artifical demand. look at perth, how much is one apartment of 2 bedroom, 900+K atleast ...not yet build... QUOTE(Denzy @ Mar 15 2008, 02:53 PM) Try www.realestate.com.au, go to Rent, click on WA, and search for Bentley, Como, South Perth, Victoria Park, etc, around Curtin. make it simple, the agents are really playing dodgy with us..especially students ...sure flat reject due to current housing shortage, australian are given priority first. But too bad you have to view them before you can send in your application. And I don't know why, it's getting harder to get a house nowadays, I'm planning to move out with my sister, girlfriends, and another friend, looking for a 3/4 rooms house at $500-600 per week, damn hard to find, keep getting rejected. =/ so the best is hunt down those ads in skool or use network in .. |
