Check out an exhibition held in MPO recently, until next Friday.

The content is about Italian violins - those old master (multi million US dollars) like Stradivarius and Guarnerius, and also the modern Italians. There's also a concert consist of all these wonder instruments, played in a chamber setting.

Don't miss it, wonder how a piece of wood that can buy you the whole shopping mall looks like? Don't miss it!

well, its advisable to get a beginners cello first, then after a few years mayb you can get yourself an intermediate one. Having not played cello I guess it's a bit hard to determine what cello you want. Dif ppl have dif opinion on a 'good' cello/string instrument. Depending on alot of things. cannot really explain sorry~

Anyway, just wanna ask, is there any orchestra near bukit jalil? or in KL area apart from MPYO, which I doubt i can get in =/ just wanna play in one if I'm going to KL for studies.

I'm trying to master my bowing techniques, which sucks badly. my fingering is just so so, haha. any way of mastering bowing techniques? kinda feel like I've been using the incorrect way of holding the bow. and sometimes stacatto is a problem =/ its like very hard to control my bowing.

first time sight reading: hit the right notes
2nd time sight reading: emphasize bit on techniques xD
and it goes on.

Oh when I listen to world class violist playing I feel so bad cos I know I cant reach that standard, not in another 5-10 years =/ haha

went back to orchestra in my area here =) feels good to play classical songs again. didn't have the chance to play much when I was studying abroad last year

Dear all,
Hello, I'm new here.

I 'm moving in to Miri on September. Wonder if anyone of you could recommend a violin teacher for me? Or any music school i can refer to?
Thanks ya

I'm from miri. try to look for the learning center symphony, my teacher is there. He's called James Lau. =) He also conducts the MOCS orchestra every sunday. (I'm overseas studying now =( miss the times in miri)

Nope, i'm proud to be a violist, and i love viola. =D Love the sound esp ^^ Yesh i can read auto cleft. Well, just that we don't have much solo pieces to play on, cos a lot of the solo / concerto pieces are written for violin only. =( But still, i'm happy that I'm a violist =D

lol, normaly when i say "I play the Viola", they will go like "u play a what? violin?" haha. Face it, everyone knows bout violin, and cello, probably double bass, but not viola. xD
