Nice one .... but still loving my capsule.

Now the DEV team said that they can software downgrade the 4.6 BL. Sheesh ... right after i damage my back cover for the H/W unlock. Well ... this bring hope to a lot of people with the dreaded 4.6 BL. Right now just waiting for them to test and release the downgrade. iPhone 16gig maybe . Hehehehehehehehe

Hi guys ... just got back from home town and BAMMMM software unlock came out. Tangan got really gatal like cannot tahan oledi then try the gunlock without reading properly. Midway doing the unlock ... my phone just restart. Then the heart attack come ... phone lost the BB and prompt "phone need repair". SHIT. Time already 12.30PM. What to do ? What to do? Haa .. i know ... restore to 1.1.1. TEET ... wrong answer. Still no baseband (stupid me forgot i'm on 4.6 BL). Almost died then remeber 1.1.3 can bring back the dead. Restore to 1.1.3 then my phone see's the light again. Now doing the unlock again. Time now 2.30 AM (gotta work tomorrow).

Moral of the day - Why didn't i learn from my first gatal tangan to H/W unlock then now 2nd gatal tangan to S/W unlock without proper research. Well ... this is the learning process.

kah kah kah kah .... 10 minutes process makes me go to 3 hours. Haiya.

BUT now my phone RINGGSSSSSSSS. BHUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Just as an info

People with BL 3.9 ... u can upgrade and downgrade the BB anytime. If u "accidentally update" to 1.1.3 thru itunes ... u can downgrade the baseband from 04.03.13_G back to 04.02.13_G from installer.

People with BL 4.6 ... u can oso downgrade BB if u "accidentally update" thru iTunes by running the new S/W unlock (preferebly from i.unlock.no). The new unlock seems to downgrade 04.03.13_G back to 04.02.13_G using the hack by george. The tutorial from i.unlock.no seems the easiest that i've found.

Added on February 11, 2008, 1:21 pmEDGE is not an always on connection. It means it activates only when u use it. If u don't use it means its not active. If u still takut ur bill sky rocket ... install services and turn off EDGE.

Added on February 11, 2008, 1:35 pmI suggest u restore and start from scratch. RESTORE 1.1.1 --> unlock using this guide i.unlock.no --> UPDATE 1.1.2 (no need oktoprep n BSD) --> then only soft update to 1.1.3.

I don't know if the unlock method survive the BB upgrade o not .... have not tried yet. Maybe after work I'll test.

About the phone number thingy ... there must have '+' symbol first then can call. It should be +604-xxxxxxxx. Don't install iWorld but use the patch for AppSupport. Later I'll put the link and PM u.

Aiyak .... did u delete the AppTapp Official source? BSD is a standard app under System category. Here the add for AppTapp if u accidentally deleted it. http://repository.apptapp.com

Urs is BL 3.9 or BL 4.6? If BL 4.6 then no need to update to 1.1.3 la as u can't fully benefit from the update. Many features need 1.1.3 baseband which BL 4.6 can't unlock yet.

Yeah ... follow iClarified. But if u have not done the S/W unlock i recommend u go tu i.unlock.no. Their guide is the simplest that i've know.

ianho ... can u attach the ziphone.zip file here. Can't download the file from the link.

BTW ... izzit only for BL 3.9 and what izzit for?

Ok right now only BL 3.9 can have true 1.1.3 with the 04.03 BB. Unlocking mechanism use in ziphone is the same as gunlock, means it will patch any version of the BB back to 04.02. Ziphone = DEV Team true 1.13 Jailbreak + Geohot 1.1.2 OTB gunlock. Its just a matter of time for the BL 4.6 to be updated to 04.03 BB. This is getting exciting after 2 months of no new news from the iphone hackers.

What about SSH? If iphonebrowser not accessible then u can always use SSH and winscp. Or izzit SSH oso cannot? I haven't tried this ziphone as i've already unlock with gunlock and not interested with 1.1.3 ... YET. Phone with BL4.6 can't experience yet the true 1.1.3. Not to mention have to install back all the apps, themes and other stuff again. Only when they have break the BL4.6, then i'll join the 1.1.3 bandwagon.

Still having problem with ur phone? Urs is BL4.6 or BL3.9? From my experience ... putting the phone on DFU mode with itunes 4.6 + 1.1.3 is not that different. Sometimes u just need to try it a couple of time. Last time i have to upgrade to 1.1.3 when trying the gunlock. Halfway got problem then lost the baseband. Update to 1.1.3 then down back to 1.1.1 twice so can boot up with ibricker. If u unlock using ziphone then ur BB should be 1.1.2BB. Then no problem to downgrade back. I suggest u downgrade back to 1.1.1 twice, use ibricker 0.91 then proceed to 1.1.2.

Hmmm ... ziphone 2.0 BL downgrade looks yummy. I'll wait what in store by geohot first as he mention can flash the BL with custom one so no more headache with unlock and all. BUT the ziphone keep calling me to try. Hehehehehehehe

Better use the latest one since zibri refines the codes with the version upgrade.

Yeap .. but recommended using command line for ziphone 2.0.

1.0 is the initial release. When there's a bug in the software, thats when the author revise the program. Thats what happen with ziphone. The latest version fixes any bugs found in the previous one plus some enhancement to it. The difference between the command line and gui is dat the program is develope as a command line. The gui only act as a front for the command line. Sometime a badly design gui or badly intergrated can affect the outcome. If its natively develope as a gui then its not a problem.

Ok here's the rundown for ziphone 2.0. Now u can activate + jailbreak + unlock for iPhone with bootloader 3.9 and 4.6. Now it have an autosensing feature to determine ur BL. U just need to type this command - "ziphone -a -j -u" where a for activate, j for jailbreak and lastly u for unlock. For BL3.9, ziphone uses the anysim 1.3 method (oso release by zibri) while BL4.6 use the gunlock method by geohot (use a patched 04.02 baseband).

For people dats thinking of doing the bootloader downgrade ... PLEASE BEWARE DAT U CAN BRICK UR PHONE without the chance to revive it back unless using a H/W method. Use the command "ziphone -v -b" with caution. v for verbose so dat u can see whats happening on ur phone while its downgrading. If something happen while u downgrade then ur screwed big time.

Added on February 15, 2008, 12:43 amThere's a difference between geohot GBootloader and zibri's ziphone bootloader downgrade. Zibri method downgrade the bootloader with the original BL3.9 while geohot method flashes the bootloader with a modified bootloader. This modified bootloader open an opportunity for a custom booloader and true unlock in the future. This is only possible on a BL4.6 downgrade to BL3.9 geohot version. Its not possible to use custom bootloader on original BL3.9. This is for future development.

As to ur question on why need to downgrade BL ... only BL3.9 can fully utilise the 1.1.3 upgrade and the BL have exploits that can be use to develope anysim program using the next secpack. Not to mention the ability do downgrade the BB to any BB that we desire.

Thats one of the reason why i'm not keen on doing the BL downgrade now. This month have been an exciting month for the iphone development especially the mod BL and Jerrysim. The coming SDK also why i'm not on the 1.1.3 bandwagon yet. I still can live with 1.1.2 ... for now.
