Hello all sifus.... i have a suggestion. I recommend to provide more detail info regarding TTT Quick Guide 01 - Habitat Setup: (on first page). Especially, the type of lamps, bedding, and etc (brands and cost). Pictures of the example setup would be perfect.

Hope you guys can consider this. I will find it very useful epecially for beginner like me to learn and start.

I think its much better to discuss it here reither to put in TTT Quick Guide. Because each TTT have diffrent settings, tempretures, humidity levels. Also same with the lamps, bedding & etc, their prices are not fix & the type of bedding too. At lease we have many topics to discuss here & make our TTT forum looks more happening & alive !
For those beginners, you can always ask here or you can refer to our previous forum discussions. Thats what is forum for. We discuss, share opionions & ideas !!!

Added on March 26, 2008, 1:40 pmIMPORTANT : Dont mix up your Ally Snapper. They will fight each other for sure. Maybe not now but in future they will do ( Maybe you can sell one to me )

I just put mine in a 4 feets Aquarium ( depands on your Ally's size ). The water level abit higher from the Ally Snapper's head, so its easy for them to take a breathe. Put one filter pump & let the pump blow the water to make the water running ( If your Ally Snapper too small, no need to do this ). Do it similar like inside the river

Dont feed your Ally Snapper everyday. enough once or twice a week because they very fast to growing up until so big

everyone,do u remember that i told u about one of my ST telan bedding kayu 2?it already berak n keluarkan that bedding yesterday n today.yesterday a big one,and today small2 wood..ha3.now it didnt swallow it,it know that not edible oledi..

Dont worry about them fighting ( but hungry individual will attack anything that come too close) !! especially the alligator snapper BUT if its the common snapper they will fight ( ending with missing digits on limbs and shorten tail ) sometimes even at the sight of each other !!

Maybe you could deepen the water level a bit and you will see your Ally snapper will become "less " aggressive towards each other !! I usually give about 2.5 to 3 X the height of its shell's height !! Do feed them about 3 meal a week after say 6 inch or more
- My babies / hatchlings are feed every day
- Adults of a foot or more are feed about 1-2 times a week


Most Ally snapper will become more aggressive when taken out of water or when the water level drop to a level when its shell is exposed !!

i just check just now i think both are males T_T
i tot 1 of them is female , i feed them 3 times a day
morning and noon each 1 blood worm at nite each prawns
also i put in long kang fish for them to hunt when they have nth to do but sadly they cant catch any of them

i wan know this part, when take them out of the water and see face to face do they always bite their own feet?? coz mine keep on wan bite its right feet
haha my snappers tail both oso gone coz of fighting

Home ? Just a simple blue tank of 6 by 4 by 2 feet with a top filter !!

Animals long gone sold when I left to work in Australia !! My Avatar pic is of one of them !!

How big are yours ? to be able to sex correctly !!! ( But since u mention they can still eat blood worm - they must still be babies / hatchlings size of no more than 3-4 inch SCL

Longkang fish too small lah try baby koi or similar size prey !!!

OK Sam... Noted it No wonder my Snapper become so 'BODOH' when i put more water inside the tank. I like to bring him out & play2 with him. Really fierce like Godzilla

Added on March 26, 2008, 6:54 pmSeriously i dont dare to feed my pets with Longkang Fish. They are full with virus unless we quarentine & put them inside the yellow powder but still no guarentee wor. I had bad experienced on my Chili Red babbies, 5 of them died becoz of Longkang Fish

they are about 2" and 3" size
this is the bigger 1 kind hard get a steady pic
small 1 in the water
bottom 1 is my pig nose turtle hehe , the small 1 cant catch so no pics sorry

bro... i saw ur tortist leh.. u feed them wif cabbage... not good leh.. i got 2 same type tortist... my gf father own pet shop one.. that day he tell me tat cabbage is not good for tortiost.. later its leg bcome "lembut".. better feed other things

I might be wrong but I think yours are common snapper ( as ally cant stretch their head that long )!! An out of water pic maybe ? Maybe your purchase price may shed some light on whether yours is common or Ally !! But all nice animals no doubt !!

Does Ally gator snap us?? could it be fatal to our finger/hand if it bites it ? Thinking of getting one but want to know the risk first

its like taking care a normal tortoise just only this abit diff is the godzilla look

Ally Snapper did snap. The name also SNAPPING turttle mah ! I've tried mine ( same size like in the picture ) he snapped a pensil 2B. Patah 2 wor !!! Since that day i really need to becareful with this fella.
