hahaha
it seems that you have this thing with non operative tank laugh.gif
i too feels it would be less than complete if a rc tank doesn't move

in any case, looking forward for it
do post up some pics if you're doing any internal mods yeah
*
My bulldog running again. Something wrong with the receiver board, so I changed both RX18 & receiver board. I don't know what's wrong with original receiver board but we didn't troubleshoot further including unplug & replug the crystal. I paid 168 ringgit for both. Tell me I'm an idiot or what?

I also bought german panther or snow Leopard (the manual said snow Leopard) for 82 ringgit, minus the receiver & RX18 boards (if the bulldog original receiver turn out good, only minus RX18). Yeah, we transfer the boards to bulldog. biggrin.gif Now, is this good bargain or I'm an idiot?

Oh yeah, I also bought tiny fan for coolig RX18 board.

supposedly everything should be in running condition if the crystals are in correct numbering (1-8 IINM)
*
I just tried it again last night, the receiver board definitely dead. The crystal ok. So I have two sets of crystal. For the panther, I plan to put Clark TK22 board in it & replace gearbox/sprocket/tracks with metal.

The right motor in Bulldog a bit loose. Fortunately the gearbox doesn't ware out. If the board doesn't burn the gear might ware out & I would still need to spent some money for the gearbox.

I hope this unfortunate event doesn't scare off people from getting into this hobby.

The only things I don't like about Heng Long is shoddy quality control & poor wiring job. There are exposed wires that just mm away from touching each other.

You are really having a streak of bad luck IMHO sweat.gif
Apart from the occasional detrack (self mistake since I spin the tank to fast on grassy surface), I have never encountered any problem at all for both my Tiger I and Tiger II

What Panther are you having BTW? The Ausf. G of the earlier ones (dubbed Pantiger tongue.gif)
*
The receiver board maybe gone bad when the RX18 fried. Fortunately we detected this problem at the shop & replacement board available right away. The donor tank was a Panther. Then I bought the Panther tank cheap. I got everything except the receiver & RX18 boards which we tranfered to my Bulldog earlier. Our original agreement was for the electronics only, to get the Bulldog running again.

I don't know which Panther is this. I'll post pictures later.

I think it's Pantiger. sweat.gif I'm kinda confused because I read Pantiger is the name Allied gave to Tiger II or King Tiger but further reading at RC tank forums, I think Pantiger is referring to the earlier Heng Long Panther tank that is most inaccurate which I think what I got. Mine is 2013 production. Doesn't matter if it's inaccurate, as long as I can go battle with it. tongue.gif

Panther (Pantiger) without receiver & RX18 boards.

I am not sure regarding that term used by allied for Tiger II, but I am most definitely sure that Pantiger is the name for the amalgation of Panther using Tiger hull in RC scale, hence the combined name.

Doesn't matter really, as long as the end result that the user is happy. I am just particular with such matter since I aim for the accuracy of it in scale form. That is just my personal view.
*
This is the article that talking about the "original" PanTiger.
http://www.lonesentry.com/articles/ttt_pantiger/

I'm also prefer accuracy in scale model but I'm new to tank, so it's hard for me to detect inaccuracy of the design. Since Panther was never in the short list of tank I want to get, I never research about it. I just saw someone make little correction to PanTiger, make it look like a Panther G if I'm not mistaken. Look easy for the front. I may try it later.

Added fan to RX18 board. I use DC5V fan. Cut the housing for better ventilation. The other wire is for tail lights.

Just collected my leo2a6 and t-34 last couple of days even though it was bought much earlier due to raya holidays and courier staff all on leave. added fans to the rx 18s' and changed to high speed motors for the leo2a6, also converted my ztz99a to 2.4ghz. The 2.4ghz is a welcome sight as the volume and smoke functions of the tanks can be controlled from the transmitter. Definitely will convert all my tanks to the new heng long 2.4ghz system. Can't wait for the challenger and abrams tanks coming soon from Heng long. Seems their quality improves with each new model they launch. PS I will have extra RX-18 as well as controller, receiver board as i have upgraded mine to Elmod, anyone who needs can pm me for price. Cheers.
*
Where did you buy your tanks & 2.4GHz components (Elmod)? I prefer TK22 electronics though but for now I just want to upgrade the gear, sprocket & tracks to metal. Then slowly upgrade the battery & electronics. Motor will be the last upgrade.

I don't mind getting 1/24 for collection if the design & the quality is good. Rubber tracks is very good for climbing. I have OEM tank with rubber tracks that can climb almost anything with less effort. Manoeuvring on the grass, however, not so good. I need to turn the tank slowly to avoid throwing off the tracks.

HL Abrams & Challenger 2 production start on September 2014 according to this website.
http://www.heng-long-panzer.de/news/index....allenger-abrams

I will be upgrading my Panther (Pantiger) tank to 2.4GHz using RC5HL board from rctankaustralia. Cheaper than Clark TK22 board. Now I just need to find not too expensive 2.4GHz radio, transmitter & receiver. Turnigy 9X set is out of stock everywhere I looked. icon_question.gif

Tiger I@, I remember you said some of your friends already upgraded to Clark TK22 board. Can you ask them what radio they're using & how they deal with the non-self-center left stick kat radio tu?

my 1/24 kena rampas by kastam bcos i dont paid the tax. The tax is higher compared the tank.  doh.gif
so, this 1/35 is small & chance to kena kastam is low.
will try my luck again..for next month.  laugh.gif

1/24 kena tax? The box/packaging not even big. I think even if you buy 1/35, I think still kena tax. I think RC stuff will kena tax though regardless size.

I found this thread. It's old & probably some already revised since then.

List of products that get or not get tax. Toys from 15% to 25%.
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/841985

I want to buy Clark TK-22 board. I think this fall under electronics equipment. So, it's Non-dutiable I guess. Still depends on the seller how they declare the items. If they declared Toys, tax will be between 15 - 25%.

QUOTE(Tiger I @ Aug 29 2014, 08:36 PM)
Last time IINM he stated that he uses Turnigy 9x, but I can't say on the second question
I'll ask him and let you know ASAP biggrin.gif
*
Any update?

BTW, where I can buy Clark TK-22 board? Or can you ask your friend where he/she bought his/her Clark TK-22 board?

Thank you.

already ask my agent taobao...

electronic under sensitive item (shipping x2) + Tax = need to paid RM 100 - 110 above. Bulk order by sea is more cheaper.
OK. i stick back to my 1/35 assembly tank.  sad.gif

Why don't you get Heng Long 1/24 or 1/16 scale locally & paint them & weathering them? Heng Long 1/24 you can get like 150 locally. I've seen a lot of beautifully weathered Heng Long tank.

i prefer scaling. Bside, all i can find the 1/24 HL is type 90, hard to find leopard 2. I PM certain seller in Fb & mudah..., some run out of stock, some no replied.  sad.gif

most of my tank is for display purpose.

Edit: Look like RC center have re-issue the LeoA5, I PM him again. Hope he can reply me.  smile.gif

Btw, Looking for Clark 22 for my tiger. As i know, the C22 need Sony remote control to apply some funtion.

MOdel name: Sony RM-964, replicate Brand : Ying Xiang RM-964.
Edit:

no luck the RC toy already inactive for long period. email failed to send out.  sad.gif

I know your tanks are for display purpose. That's why I suggest get Heng Long 1/24 or 1/16 & paint/weathering the tank. Get them locally than getting the smaller scale one from oversea, not to forget you need to pay tax for them. If I were you I prefer 1/16 because they are large enough to have good detail.

For Clark TK22, I did chat with Yassin Yahaya from NS RC Tank FB group. He still waiting to get 15 people join his bulk before ordering TK22 & this is since 2013. I don't know how many already join & still waiting. With him you can get TK22 around RM260 - RM270. This depends on the current exchange though. If you getting it yourself, I checked they are around RM290 to RM300 with free shipping but it will get taxed because it will declare as Toys.

Yes, the Sony remote is for programming/setting the TK22 board. It's much better than to have to buy separate programming board like the traditional ESC required.

There are two RC Toys FB where one of them already inactive. This one is active. For fast response, better SMS or whatsapp than PM.

I just now ordered metal upgrade for my WW2 tanks, Walker Bulldog & Panther.

Regarding RC Toys, admin gone to China for business. Check out their FB, call & sms will not go through. Use whatsapp instead. According to RC Toys FB, you can sms syamil instead.

As for bro Yassin, better you contact him directly. I didn't join his bulk yet because I'm getting metal upgrade first. Join "NS RC Tank" group at FB & PM Yassin Yahaya.

First phase upgrade 90% complete.

Bulldog - metal gearbox, sprocket & tracks
Pantiger - metal gearbox & new but fried RX18...again. ordered Heng Long 2.4GHz system.

Next is getting metal tracks for Pantiger.

The RX18 sit outside of the tank is new & I fried it after few minutes of test run with the Pantiger.

German Panther (Pantiger) upgraded to 2.4GHz system. It's Heng Long 2.4GHz system for now.

I'm not happy with proportional steering with HL 2.4GHz. It's too sensitive. When proportional steering, tracks on one side should running slower than the tracks the other side but with HL 2.4GHz, that tracks tend to stop instead.

Video: Climbing test.

I need to add weight in the front in Bulldog. The stock tracks on the Panther (Pantiger) tend to throws when moving on the grass. Hopefully the metal tracks don't have this problem.
