for HL 2.4GHz, do u face the problem like jam after few minit play, or when u press forward, the tank moving forward but until certain distance (20m) the tank stop & unable to move anymore?? any time delay VS distance???   hmm.gif

i want to get a HL 2.4GHz for my tiger too.
*
I have not test at that distance though. I don't think I would drive the tank up to 20m distance without following the tank from behind, unless I installed FPV system. tongue.gif The HL 2.4GHz I'm using is the latest one, 2014 version. It's pretty good but it doesn't have slow crawl speed. The lowest speed is still too fast for WW2 tanks like Tiger I and it's not smooth at low speed, especially when you're changing directions while moving. A pair of low ratio gearboxes should fixed this though or combination of that & hobby grade control board like Clark's board or EL MOD or IBU or DBC3.

Also have you tested your tank on uneven terrain, especially sands surface? My tracks keeps throwing on the idler wheels. It's not throwing completely but the inner teeth of the tracks tend to enter the groove in the idler wheels. This is while running straight. Kinda annoying. I know how to fixed them though; track tensioner & metal bars bracing the hull to stop hull flexing. It's need a lot of $$$$ to fixed the problem; track tensioner + low ratio gearboxes + Clark boards (+ 2.4GHz radio). So I'm going to postpone upgrading/fixing my Tiger I chassis tank. I'm going to upgrade my Bulldog tank first & possibly getting the Leopard 2a6 tank.

My Bulldog current condition. Fixed the periscope, so it'll look like the real thing & put the extra tracks at correct place, almost.

My Pantiger, with Tiger I chassis. Like Bulldog, this one also already upgraded to steel gearboxes & metal tracks set. This one use HL 2.4GHz 2014.

nice video.
all the problem u mention r common issue for HL tank, if u want fully upgrade it may cost 1k above.

i just wanna get the 2.4g for smooth play. facing many issue using the existing controller.

if got extra budget, then only looking for clark sound card.
*
If you don't mind low speed issue or lack of proper proportional speed, the HL 2.4GHz is good. A lot of experienced RC tankers advised me to stay away from HL 2.4GHz & get better controller board like Clark's. This is up to you. Some people like me (many actually if we include all tankers in the world) want WW2 scale speed for their WW2 tank. HL 2.4GHz & standard HL gearbox can not give that to you.

hi,  other then HL, can suggest 2.4g controller??
budget for 2.4g around RM 150.
got plenty of controller, but i dont know which one suit the most.
scare buying the wrong one....& setup may be difference  hmm.gif

edit:
the HL 2.4 come with 2.4g controller & 2.4G board.
u just get the controller only?? or both?  hmm.gif
*
Sorry for late reply. I got both. Basically when I ordered mine, I asked for both transmitter & receiver.

Edward Chew from RC Tank Malaysia Community Trading FB page is selling HL 2.4GHz complete system in one package.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/62986138037...87069471322165/

HL 2.4GHz is proprietary system. You can't use it with any hobby grade 2.4GHz radio. You can only use it with HL 2.4GHz transmitter.

Motor come with gearbox. You don't need to buy motor separately unless you're looking for something like better proportional speed or more torque motor.

hitz, where do you live? You can try check at Mudah, company name Cye Toyz Ent.

Congrats on the first tank!

About the sound, the sound in Heng Long tanks is generic sound. For real sound for that tank, you'll need to change the electronics which will cost you $$$. From RM300 to RM400 minimum. And not to forget you'll need to change the radio too when you changed the electronics.

The color oob look nice. Much better than other Heng Long tanks.

I see you're modeller. So the tank is in good hand. smile.gif

Boring at the silver look of the metal tracks & wheels, I decided to paint them. Just using temporary colour, I'll paint them back with either grey or desert camo.

seems like my Heng Long Smoke generator Died  sweat.gif

as expected.... because read forums, many of them had bad experience with it...

so, who are selling it? if its expensive... Iam ok without smoke  laugh.gif
*
Probably not died. Maybe just too much aerosol in the smoke tank. This always happened to my tanks. I just removed some of the aerosol & it'll generate smoke again. I usually turn off the smoke generator because it's noisy.

Early bird huh?

This was FM radio that I upgraded to 2.4GHz. Regardless the gimbals/sticks are stock. Look at the cables connected to the right gimbal/stick, I think you can swap the cables to correct the movement issue.

I'm still dealing with radio issue but this is my first video on the Clark TK22 board. You can see in the video, the main issue is the right stick when move up/down will make the motors turning. It shouldn't because the right stick is to trigger multi functions like turret traverse, gun elevation, firing mg. firing cannon, engine sound on/off & to turn left/right. You can see it's pretty annoying when I want to trigger these functions, the motors turning too. I suspect the receiver because it have a lot of dials on it.

the setting havent completed yet??
i didnt heard the moving sound when the wheel moving forward. it just a engine starting sound only.
any update??
*
Settings pretty much completed except the re-wiring for the airsoft not done yet. Actually I'm quite disappointed with Clark TK22 board. I need to do a lot of radio configuration to get it running nicely. The issue I'm having is the tank tend to suddenly super spin when going left/right. I reduced the RUDD stick travel to prevent this from happening. I also mapped the multifunction (mg fire, cannon fire, turret rotation & engine) to a dial on the radio for easy access. I personally can't recommend Clark TK22 though. Next I'm going to try IBU2 board.

The reason why you didn't hear the moving sound because I stop the recording before the engine startup sound finished. I already upgraded to louder & bigger speaker. However right now I'm having issue with right tracks jumping on the sprocket when reverse.

I want to get taigen or asiatam metal lower hull that will fixed all of the problem I'm having with HL lower hull. No supplier in Malaysia interested bring it in though which means I need to get it myself.

i think u need to get a new speaker for it.
from the video, the sound look poor.
actually im looking for sound effect only.
*
Right now already upgraded to bigger speaker. Sound effect for Tiger 1 is not great though. Many changed to either IBU2 board or Clark+Benedini combo. Both will cost you no less than RM800. For Clark only which I paid 353, considering the amount of work to get it run nicely, if you only want the sound effect, not worth it IMO.

I'm on limited quota internet connection. Let see if I have enough quota to upload another video but I can't promise.

but from your video the speaker is HL.
woo, the upgrade part is pricy.
*
I meant currently. In that video still using the HL speaker. Yeah, upgrade is pricey. This teaches me in the future just buy complete tank like MATO all metal tank (~RM1500) or Tamiya or Taigen metal tank.

This is new video with better speaker.

woo, nice.  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif
so TK 22 only can acheived the sound effect?
look like u upgrade alot item bside sound effect.
so total upgrade for your tank so far is how much?  hmm.gif
*
The TK22 sound a lot better than the HL generic sound but the tank control, needs to configure the radio to get the tank driving nicely. The control too sensitive though, you will be able to get used to it after a while. There are other boards but will cost more like IBU2 & EL MOD which both allow you to change the tank sound. Clark TK22 doesn't allow you to customize the sound but you can add Benedini TBS Mini (C$140) if you want better engine sound.

HL Tiger I metal tracks set (including metal sprocket & idler) = RM150
HL steel gear gearbox = RM70
MATO Tiger I metal road wheels = RM257
MATO Tiger I metal black suspension = RM67
Clark TK22-T1 = RM353

wooo.
almost rm 900.
i planing to upgrade the controller to 2.4g, then will upgrade the sound effect.
but the installation of the sound card look very complicated  sad.gif
*
The metal road wheels are unnecessary though. It only add weight. The plastic road wheels are nice enough. If you get asiatam or taigen metal lower hull then the metal road wheels will be nice addition.

When you upgrade to 2.4GHz, you will upgrade the sound too. Clark TK22 is both multifunction board & sound board.

For sound effect only, the beier sound unit usm-rc-2 is what many people use. It work with HL RX18 board. It's expensive, no less than RM800 if I'm not mistaken. Pretty much the TK22 is cheaper.

The installation of Clark TK22 is easy & plug n play. You just connect the cables from the tank to the TK22 & you will get all tank control function except airsoift. Airsoft will need re-wiring a little. Then you just need to configure the radio like trim or subtrim. If you want to get TK22, make sure you also buy the IR receiver & the SONY remote control for programming the TK22 board.

If you want save you from the trouble better get full complete upgrade tank. The MATO metal tank come with Clark TK22 & all metal upgrade, including MATO brass gearbox. It's IR tank by the way, so you'll get barrel recoil too. You just need to save money around RM1600. Check out battlezonerc.com. Local online store which where I bought the MATO upgrade from. The TK22 also from him.

u mean even i didnt upgarde to 2.4ghz, but only get TK22, so the transmitter or received will automatic improve??  hmm.gif

i tot TK 22 is only give u a realistic sound of tank, & have nothing to do with the transmitter, correct??
*
The TK22 is also multifunction board. It will replaced the RX18. You also will need hobby grade 2.4GHz radio (& receiver) like Turnigy, Futaba, etc. Minimum 4-channels radio.

For transmitter I use Walkera Devo 7 radio because I already have this radio. It's 7-channels radio & come with receiver. Make sure when you buy radio, it also come with receiver.
