This is not Heng Long tank but fun to play too. It have IR receiver that can detect how many shot it took when playing two of similar tank. The only problem the rubber tracks very easy to come off when playing on the grass. I don't know whether I can use Heng Long parts, the metal tracks on this tank.

Hello,
These tanks are realiable, i.e. no issue? These tanks good for outdoor, e.g. dirt/sand & grass surface? Heng Long RC Tank U.S M41A3 Walker Bulldog Skala 1/16 Heng Long RC Tank ZTZ 99 MBT Skala 1/16 This post has been edited by kizwan: Jun 28 2014, 10:10 PM |

Thanks Tiger! I already ordered the tank, actually I only going to get one of them. Earliest this Monday @local RC shop @Parit Buntar. Hopefully the tank available, one of them.
The tank I have right now is not branded, 1/24 scale if I'm not mistaken. Pics in my post above. It have IR battle system (IR receiver & barrel), engine start sound & motion effect, engine sound effect, machine gun sound effect (auto while turning the turret), fire sound & motion effect, etc. I'm very satisfied but it have rubber tracks (caterpillar). It easily come off from the wheels when manoeuvring on grass, (certain) carpet, etc. If I turn slowly, it will be no problem but the turning radius will be larger. |

That is just OEM brand tank. Usually supermarket sell it. I bought it because it look nice & I like tanks. Able to remote control is a bonus. It only slightly cheaper than Heng Long 1/24 scale rc tank.
There is northern rc tank group. Maybe I can join them later after I get my Heng Long tank. Funny story, the seller at the shop surprised I want to buy Heng Long tank. He said something like this, "itu 200 - 300 ringgit tank, you mau beli ka?" I'm surprised that he is surprised because he is selling rc car, buggy, quad copter, planes, etc that cost 400++ to 1000++ ringgit. He not surprised when I buy 1/10 scale rc buggy for 4xx ringgit from him last month. This post has been edited by kizwan: Jun 29 2014, 12:30 PM |

Bad news. The seller don't have either of the two models in stock. He told me that they have German tank. I think that's great since I like one or two of the German tanks. However I don't know which tank he is referring to but he did said the tank is blue. I think he meant gray because from the picture the tank look almost blue. I think it's either Tiger or Panzer tank. I asked which German tank they have but until now I didn't get the answer yet. The tank is not in his shop but he can bring it in the next day if I really want it. I don't know which tank he have, so I can't give any confirmation yet unfortunately.
Anyway, can anyone recommend any Malaysia online store that sell Heng Long RC Tank at reasonable price? Thanks. This post has been edited by kizwan: Jul 2 2014, 12:07 AM |

The seller don't have website or email or facebook or MMS. He only have physical store. He tried to MMS the picture of the tank to me but it failed to sent out. Yesterday he promised me to text me the model number & the name of the tank but he didn't. Today he said to me he is waiting his friend to compile a list of tanks that is in stock, Heng Long + other brands, then he going to text me. I doubt he is going to text me today.
BTW, I have seen a couple youtube video showing Hobby Engine tanks with Heng Long electronics. Is this mean Heng Long electronics is better than Hobby Engine electronics? |

I got my first Heng Long tank today. It's Heng Long RC Tank U.S M41A3 Walker Bulldog Skala 1/16, model 3839-1 (BB bullet). The Heng Long QC sticker show 2014. So, it's not old stock. I'll post pictures this arvo.
Not bad, shipped overnight from KL to the seller store at Parit Buntar, Perak. Actually there are two tanks shipped, Tiger I & Bulldog but the seller said something wrong with the Tiger I caterpillar & wheels, so he sent it back. Funny though since he said both tanks was at his store just a couple hours before. I think he like the Tiger I tank, so he keep it for himself because his explanation doesn't make sense though. First he can't really tell what is wrong with the tank, secondly he said it's expensive & finally he sent it back right after it was delivered to his store. He don't even know my budget. Oh well, no problem at all since I didn't say which one I really want to buy because I don't know which tanks was being shipped & Bulldog was my first choice. EDIT: There's "Infrared Battle System" on the box. At the base of the barrel, I can see it's either IR transmitter or LED but I don't see IR receiver anywhere. I'll see later when the battery fully charged. My cheap OEM tank have IR battle system. I wonder whether I can test the IR with it. Any thoughts? Oh, the facebook one right? I'll ask the seller later. For the battery, I already plan to use lipo or higher capacity nimh battery. When I play on the grass yesterday, there is one instance where one of the tracks "lari sikit" dari sproket but doesn't come off & still can move which is good news. I just avoid tall/long grass then.
Overal very satisfied with the build quality. There are two or three decorations that I need to glue because they come off easily. I was thinking doing tug of war between the two tanks I have but I don't want to scratch the plastic tracks. |

Bad news! Very very bad news! While playing today, in the house, I smell something burning. So I picked up my tank & I can see smoke coming from the inside of the tank. I disconnected the battery. I open the tank top body fearing the worse.

QUOTE(Tiger I @ Jul 9 2014, 03:31 PM) I just now asked try to talk to him to just sell the RX18 board & it is 115 ringgit. Do you think that a bit steep?QUOTE(limfreelance @ Jul 9 2014, 03:40 PM) wooo burnig board. how it happen?? I use stock battery. No upgrade or changes to the tank yet. The 168 ringgit is the one use crystal. I have been told by RCU members, the 2.4GHz controller is not good. Better stick with the non-2.4GHz.u battery is 1700 - 1800mh rite, even i put 2200mh & play for 20min also wont burning. The only problem is the receiver have time delay & weak, That y i planing to replace to 2.4ghz controller....but passion gone, & the tank just stay inside the box. your RM 168 controller is 2.4GH?? |

QUOTE(Tiger I @ Jul 9 2014, 04:54 PM) No problem. I just ordered two RX18 boards. Just checked ebay, the cost around 90 to 100 ringgit (free shipping) from Hong Kong. So 115 ringgit is ok I think, especially it'll arrive tomorrow. This post has been edited by kizwan: Jul 9 2014, 05:11 PM |

QUOTE(Tiger I @ Jul 9 2014, 08:10 PM) quite okay i guess Even if I buy another tank, I won't sell my bulldog since all I need to fixed it is a RX18 board. The seller did offer me a german tank, either panzer or panther for 2xx ringgit but for now I must fixed the bulldog first.unless you take limfreelance's suggestion, and if you find it somewhere, you could get a tiger i locally at myr 150.00, and either keep the boardless hull or sell if of as well |

QUOTE(Tiger I @ Jul 10 2014, 05:15 AM) You could transfer the board from others into Walker Bulldog since Heng Long's tanks all sounds the same That would drive me crazy because one of the tank will be inoperative. In any case, hoping that your tank will be in good condition Thank you, hoping full recovery. Hopefully today because the seller said it would arrive this afternoon. I'm going to put a fan & 5 amp fuse to protect the board. This post has been edited by kizwan: Jul 10 2014, 05:15 PM |
