Jumping ship or not is one thing...

But I do think D40 is not a camera to keep, too many limitation... Thanks to Nikon so kedekut and remove the  motor.

I think for low budget, better get Canon as Canon all range use CMOS sensor which has better image quality. If I am not mistaken, the cheapest Nikon with CMOS is D300, which is still at least Rm5.8k...

Yeah I heard that the D40X can only use certain lenses because of this missing motor (else have to manual focus). What's up with this anyway?

In comparison, the Canon 450D is able to use all Canon ranges of lenses I presume?

Also, how does this Live View work compared to the PnS? Is there any difference or would this camera be the perfect transition camera for PnS users?

Canon 450D can use all Canon EF lenses back to 20 years old one... I really can autofocus and everything...

It is always the good time to switch from PnS into dSLR. Wait until next month 450D got stock. Try not to get the current 400D because no live view.

If you jump ship to Canon 450D, I would suggest used EFS17-85 USM IS + EF85 f1.8 USM for potrait

Then I am sure you will be happy... drool.gif

Forget Canon 450D. Now Sony A300 come with LifeView which is exactly like PnS. I heard TheVOIP is dumping his Canon 40D for
Sony A300. He may sell his 40D for RM2.5k...tongue.gif tongue.gif

Then you yet to see the bokeh of the giant Canon.... With f2.8 at 1200mm, the bokeh is so blur that like there is no bokeh... shocking.gif thumbup.gif

I do not care about vari angle LCD because I just placed an order with Doremo on the new 1Ds mark VI that has the feature + 4" LCD! thumbup.gif whistling.gif

I heard that Sony lens bokeh is the best in the industry with good fluidity. So you better buy A300 smile.gif

I heard Nobita already took the 1Ds Mark VI. So Doremo cannot send to you. Nobita is more important than TheVOIP.
