Good morning, dear lowyat forummers. A belated Selamat Hari Raya to all my Muslim friends and Happy Wesak Day to all those of the Buddhist faith. May these auspicious occasions bring us peace and prosperity to all of us.

The inevitable price change finally have reached
my doorstep. I was informed by my supplier that there will be a rm2 increase in the price of honey in my next order. With the cost of living and logistic cost ( diesel prices, bottling from rm1 to rm2 now) it is fair to him. For the last 15 years or so my price has maintained within the rm50 range not going over to rm60. That was what I promised myself, to bring affordable and good honey for everyone.
As such, the good news is , I will maintain my price of honey still at rm58. I will absorb the price increase though my pin money will now allow me only to have lunch minus breakfast. You may speculate that I make tremendous profits and therefore can afford to absorb the price increase. There are 2 important factors that have to considered.

1. At the onset when I post on this forum, I mentioned that I am not doing a business but as a hobby. I never expect to have such great response and last until now. My intention was to make available honey affordable for everybody.Thus I price it way below the market price so everyone can have the opportunity to afford honey without paying exorbitant prices.

2. As such, I do away with 3rd party resellers and deal directly. The extra profits I pass back to my customers. As age has caught up with me (73 this year), I do not do much cod but instead rely on my customers to collect from my house or use the delivery services. I now need not worry about petrol costs, toll charges or the MRT which is getting more expensive even for a senior person like me. These savings will help me offset the price increase.

With this, I hope this explains why my honey is always cheaper than what you normally pay. Lastly I like to thank my customers for the support they have given me and I will try to continue supplying honey to anyone who wants it . Thank you.

Subsequent to my announcement in Lowyat.net, I made individual personal contacts to my regular customers through watsapp. I am overwhelmed with the support given to me about this price change. Most of them encouraged me to increase the price whilst some was somewhat relieved that I stick to the present price. A very big thank you to all of you.

I am not a good business man as I always have a soft heart. To me, every time my supplier increase his price, it's just rm1 or 2., I tell myself that additional ringgit or two will not make me rich and I just absorb it. As I told one of my customers, " I m already 73, so I just give back what I can afford to share".

Sorry for not showing honey. It is the usual bottle that is being use to keep honey.I can rebottle this in a more acceptable bottle but it goes towards the cost. So do you want to pay for a nice looking bottle or look for the contents in it. Glass bottle is the most sensible way of keeping honey as plastic bottles will sometimes deteriorate over time and is not good for you.

I had on purpose not shown the picture of the honey, as people will take for granted that it is the run of mill things.Please rest assured that this is not the same honey that you see being sold by "orang asli" in the restaurants or food courts. Some of them are artifical honey made from chemicals.Honey is such a funny thing, you can only sell it by word of mouth or actually taken it yourself to be convince of the stuff. Any sales talk is useless.

just to tell you a story how I end selling my honey here. I had high blood pressure and consulted a Chinese sinsei in OUG. Well after some months of treatment, my pressure was under control. As he was a distant relative of my wife's and gave me a hefty discount on his consultation, I gave him a bottle of honey as a present. When he saw the honey he asked me where I got the honey from. I told him its from a friend who gave me the honey . He said he had been looking for the honey for some time but could not get any supply. Thats how I started supplying him. Till todate he is the only seller that this honey is supplied to him. He sells it to his patients.

Answer to your question of "no filtering". There is always some residue in the honey as we cannot always get the honey in the cleanest form unless we go throught the drum process. But you will be surrprised that when you pour out the honey, the impurities( ie. some bee wax, bees) will not come out. Just take a tablespoon every morning before brushing your teeth and you can feel the effects. For me and my friends, they feel not so tired and can still go on for the whole day. I am 58 years and when I drive long distance, I usually take a tablespoon before I embark on my journey and I do not feel tired driving. Thats how it works for me.

I wish you can try a bottle of this honey.But as I say I am not doing any hard selling.

Normally it is too far away to deliver because of toll charges etc BUT FOR YOU I WILL DELIVER. because I want you to try it.

Normally honey cannot be frozen because the right way to keep honey is in the lower shelve of your fridge. Never deep freeze it. However the most important thing you should NOT DO is expose honey to bright light. The honey can deteriorate and can be harmful to health. If your fridge does not have space just keep it in a cool and dark space in your kitchen. It will last you for years.

Historically, honey was discover in one of the Pharoah's tombs thousands of years old and the honey is still edible.

The contents including the honey as shown in photo is 1.47kg. The bottle weighs 510gms. So actual weight of honey approx. 960gms.

I STAND TO CORRECT

[U][/U]It never occurred for me to check the weight of the honey until you asked as I do not pack the honey.

A new shipment just arrived yesterday, and I weighed the honey. It is between 1.5kg. -1.48kg. The net weight of the honey is therefore between 1kg. - 0.97kg.

I was told by my supplier that this honey is "raw and unprocessed" and therefore the active enyzmes are still in the honey. As described earlier the honey is collected and seived through without any mechanical process of separation done. As such the enyzmes are still intact.Being "alive" it spills over when agitated. I accept his explanation as I had previously experience this myself and the small shipments that I sent to Japan also encounter such problems even though they were bottled in 300 gms. bottle with a wider mouth.

I always believe in honesty and intregrity and my policy is to provide fast, efficient ,honest service to anyone who deals with me.

Rest assured there is no shortchanging as I do not practice such tactics.

Thanks for the compliment. I always make sure that I provide the best service.

I did not expect LYN to have a lot of young people. Although most of you readers being young are in reasonable good health, it does not cost you much to have some honey in your house. I know (including my son) who stayed till the wee hours of the night either playing games or blogging. The next morning you will feel very tired. At this point you will not feel the long term effects. If you are tired or getting heaty with a sore throat coming up , take a tablespoon of honey in the morning. it will keep the doctor away. It may be slightly expensive but dont take it frequently then. Just make sure you keep the honey in a dim and cool place. You can keep it in the fridge and although some solidification may arise but it should be viscous when you pour it out.

Just relating my experience. At least you know........isnt it?

This honey is from the jungles of Pahang.As I said in my earleir notes, it is difficult to ascertain what is original honey or not. It depends on the supplier. Either you trust him or you dont. I have been taking this honey for the last 5 years and I find them reliable. The only thing I can say I have not found another honey that is "alive". Whenever we shake the bottle, the honey reacts by "boiling" over. I was told this is the reaction of enzymes that is in the honey. Good honey if not properly kept will still turn to be bad for consumption (read my next article which will be posted next week). The MOST IMPORTANT THING TO KEEP HONEY is not to expose to direct sunlight or heat. Prolong exposure will turn the honey bad and is DETRIMENTAL to your health.Then you better not take than to take.

I will be reproducing again my article on SOMETHING WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT HONEY here in the next couple of days.

I have not been selling this honey on the net until now, but I felt that people should be made known that our local honey is as good as imported honey. For the last 2 years I had been selling honey to Japan on a small quantity. As I had said earlier, the intention at the beginning was just to present as a gift our local honey to my Japanese acquintance whom I met 2 days earlier.The following day his manager approached me and said he wanted to buy our honey for Japan. I had sent him todate 2 shipments. Sending this honey to Japan is very difficult as it is "alive", the honey tends to spill out during transportation and wastage has been incurred. I will also post extracts some of my email correspondences with my Japanese counterpart for you to read. You can also verify with them whether my email are genuine or not. I also have a customer from Singapore who bought honey from me in the net. Recently, he told me he was switching to pollen. So I investigated whether pollen was that good comparative to honey by quality and pricing. My email correspondence was also posted here and was informed that why should we be taking pollen which is so expensive when honey itself has pollen. Marketing people tend to create niche markets by selling you expensive products but you can actually get substitues that are good and very much cheaper. My customer (now a friend) emailed me and told me he will stop subscribing to pollen this June because he signed up for a whole years supply.

Hope the above satisfy you. My posting on the net is just to educate ourselves.You need not buy anything from me unless you are convinced. There is no pressure on your part. Even if you made a COD order and you change your mind, it is all right. Just tell me so. I always leave it to the buyer. Why must he or she be forced to buy something if he/she is not convinced.

It is good to see ppl that are interested in honey. but we must be well aware of what kind of bees they are using to get those honey. Are they polluted? we don't know. Are those bees adulterated? We don't know. Here is an attachment of some reports.

Anyway, i deal with the world largest bee product company. If anyone is interested, i could provide more information. I do not mean any harm to the thread starter. Just thought that i should share things out.

I agree with you that there are a lot of questions left unanswered regarding to honey. Immaterial where the honey comes from or how it is collected and even with the largest bee product company there is no guarantee that the honey is good. If you care to take some time and do your reading, most of the honey obtained in this region belongs to the "apis dorsata" (which is one of the biggest honey bees in the region) and another smaller species which I have forgotten the name. The european bees are mostly apis mellifera which is a smaller breed.

Back to the question whether what kind of bees are used to gather honey.Are they polluted? To my best knowledge I can answer you the following. Most bees do carry some form of mites etc during their lifetime.It is the process of collection that determines whether the honey is good or bad. Of course with sterialisation, and heating honey will be considered good as any impurities or mites will be killed. Commercial suppliers get their honey by going to the farms of big orchards and let their honey bees do the pollination and thus obtain honey. They cannot control the quality of the honey. OK in an orchard farm does the farmer water and spray its crops during flowering etc with peasticides, fungicides. They do. When the bees gather the pollens from the flowers inadvertantly, they will also carry minute amounts of these pesticides with them. So these will also enter into the honey . European honey bees because of winter are more sceptable for diseases and will be more easily polluted. We (or I )can only say that honey is of better quality or lower quality depending on the care honey is collected from the beginning.

Our local honey is collected in the wild and in the first instance there is no pollution of insecticides or pesticides. Because we are in a tropical country, the bees are less subjected to diseases.Even though our local honey is of lower quality I know for a fact it is not polluted.

Dont worry anodize, no harm is done to me. If ppl want to buy honey from other sources, they are always at liberty to do so. If I do not sell the honey, I consume it myself as I do not intend to do big as your supplier does. There are always pros and cons on any subject. So it is up to the readers to decide. Some may find Manuka honey very good, some may find local honey to be as good and some may be con by getting synthetic honey which is artifical honey.

I shall still be posting any interesting articles that I come across. Maybe one may think I am bragging about my sale to Japan. Pl. it is a very small amount but what I was trying to communicate is that they appreciate the honey thats all. I shall take this out from my post tomorrow.

Why not? We are not enemies but just want to be educated in our little ways. The Japanese were not persuaded by me. I had the pleasure of meeting them on a product that they invented and was being marketed on a very low profile in Malaysia. Something pertaining to water. (Another controversal subject!!! Incredible but I beleive it). Initially I was asked to assist on how to market the product effectively in Malaysia but somehow different wavelengths crossed with the local distributor and I did not come into the picture. But during those 5 days with them accompanying them to Singapore where we had the privileged of being courted by the Singapore Water works board and briefing on their "water". I came out enriched on specific information about water. (I will not delve deeply into this). Towards the end of our relationship, I gave them each a bottle of honey (usual manners with Japanese ). I did not do any selling. Well, the next morning when we were in Pg. his manager asked about the honey and wanted to buy it. I told him he has not even tasted the honey at all and he wanted to buy. But he said his boss knows what he wants. So subsequently, I did sent them some samples and later they made some orders. I posted the exchange of emails in this page is because I wanted to tell ppl like us that outsiders appreciated what we have but we ourselves are not certain about our own product. Of course if you interprete the other way round it seem very pompous of me but it was not intended to be that. That's the reason why I will delete it out.

Honey is a funny thing. I was very sceptical about it in the very beginning until I tried it and it works for me. I had faithfully taken it every morning for the last 5 years and it helps to build up my energy level. The reason why I went on this site was merely to keep myself active. I prefer to COD to everyone as sending by post will cause the honey to spill. I am not against commercial honey, they have their stringent tests but in some of the reports that I had read, there were also wastage and spoilt honey. The only thing we must always keep in mind is how to keep honey in the best environment and of course dont buy synthetic honey. Even good honey when exposed to extreme heat and sunlight will turn the honey toxic and can lead to cancer. This is what I learn from the Prof. from UM. If you are old enough, you will remember that we did not have all these branded honey around but depend on local honey. How it was collected will be much simpler than now. But the effects still remained the same. Well I will stick to local honey and save some of my money for other things.

I do my homework before I do anything and thats the reason why I can answer you promptly. Well in life we must always have the right attitude and by your invitation for a friendship.,haven't I succeeded? Perhaps readers reading to this message can learn something other than honey. hmmm the color of the honey is very nice, i am no expert in honey, but they said those local honey - are best if they are dark colored ..

most of the honey sold by those claiming that they are wild bees honey are actuall a small portion of honey with tons of sugar, to test it, take some and place on spoon, and heat it, if its real honey it will burn completely, but if in the end there is a lump of goey substance like burned sugar, its actually really burned sugar ...

Please remember honey does contain sugar, fructose and enzymes. So if you burn it, definately they will have the stuff mentioned.

Honeycombs are the house of the bees and cannot be eaten. It contain mainly wax and they are collected to make candles etc. I do not sell them nor do I sell pollen, royal jelly or propolis. I only sell honey which to me is the cheapest and its nutritional benefits are the same as the rest. Maybe they are slightly more because you need a lot of effort to collect these amounts and so indirectly you pay more.So why pay more if you can get most of the so called nutrients in honey. I need to go to the supermkt. to look at the honeycomb they are selling and will revert to you soon.I shall give you a more detail writeup of my own about honey combs later. Did not sleep until 3am. and still in a daze.

I'm fascinated by your post about the honey and its benefits.
My family have being consuming honey dated back when I was very small.
My dad started the dice when my uncle who is a Chinese tabib told my dad to start it due to my bad health.
My mum on the other hand only consumes manuka honey.
Our honey comes from a known Iban friend of my dad. The honey is from the deep jungle of the Kalimantan border.

When I move to PJ due to work, I lost my supply of honey.
At first, my family will post it to me but after a few posts which result in honey spilt and broken glasses and ETC, I stop taking honey as it is very troublesome to my family.
After some times, my family also stop taking honey as they also lost the contact with the supplier.
Now I would like to start taking the honey again.
My dad used to manage the honey as in when to consume and how to see the purity and the storing.
But now I would like to learn it from you as for myself.

Thk. you for keeping tabs on my articles. Yes with local honey you will have the spillage and broken glasses. the honey is so powerful that sometimes it will explode the contents out. Thats the reason why I had to COD to my buyers and inform them so when I deliver to them. Otherwise they will only half a bottle left . Only those who had used it will experience this.The honey is obtained in Pahang. Again if you had read my earlier postings, it was a Chinese tabib that introduce me to this honey. So I think both of us including your father cannot be wrong that far. Normally I take the honey in the morning before brushing my teeth. I just take a tablespoon and let it slide down my throat without mixing with water. it has improved my energy level and also my heatiness.

If you note I try to post articles that are relevant for information and in no way I try to sell the honey cos it takes someone who has only tried it to beleive its goodness.



I am also learning along the way and with readers encouragement ,I will dig more and share with everyone.

I came upon this website in one of my searches for any interesting articles with regard to honey. I am afraid my knowledge to this topic may be shallow. However, it will be interesting for me to meet you and perhaps you contributing the major sharing than I do. I just had a glimpse of the website and find that it concerns something to do with cancer.

I have some interesting feedback regarding water. You see I had the opportunity to meet up with a Japanese inventor on what he call his Tamura system. You can actually clean yourself, brush your teeth, do your laundry without using soap or any detergent. I had tried it and it really works. I am afraid it is not appropriate to discuss over here. Yes perhaps a teh tarik seesion will be nice and I am sure we should have a great evening together.

Thks. for your reply. I am also from Pg. Ah, the water, I actually tried that up Pg. Hill at Bellevue Hotel which is owned by my ex boss. He had installed the system in the hotel and if you had the opportunity just stay overnight there. The ground floor rooms are installed with the system and get the water from them. Taste it and you will know what I mean. You can contact Mr. Jon Su who is one of the Directors there. Just mentioned that I introduced you. However, last year they will making some plans to renovate and extend the Hote. I am not sure it is under renovation now but you can always give them a call first.

B4 I forget, they have installed this setup at the swimming pool of a block of condominium call Millenium Towers which is situated at Gurney Drive. it is a private condominium and if you know somebody there, you can try swimming at the pool. The water is still cholorinated but you will not get swollen eyes and your hair will not be sticky but still soft.

yes. raw unprocessed honey is collected straight from the hive and then strained and seived directly into the bottle. Thats why sometimes you get some of the wood chips, bees in your bottle. By this method the enyzmes are not destroyed.

Sori. I do not have a shop around as I only do as hobby. I sell only one product so no need for shop. It is self selling if people know the product. Sales are done through word of mouth. I cod just to keep myself occupied.

However, this supplier will only supply me with the best quality and he will not give me anything less than what I expect from him. You see , it is wild honey and he has to harvest the honey. Am afraid not at the moment though I wld. love to do that. The honey is active and any rough handling will cause the honey to spill out. That's why I need to cod. There is always another time say maybe if you have someone coming down to KL, just pm or sms me. For you Penangites and outstaion guys I will cod for free anywhere in KL or PJ.

Yes honey can releive you of your phlegm. Either you take it in the morning or at night. It is more effective if you just take the honey straight instead of diluting it with water. Let the honey flow down your throat. It will greatly relieve you.

I have just read the article. Honey is not collected from the Tualang tree only but also from some other trees. The connotation of Tualang honey is used as a marketing tool. Agreed that one can find a lot of nests on a tualang tree because it is strudy tree and can support a lot of nests. It doesn't mean other trees that has honey are no good. The honey I obtain comes from the jungles of Pahang. Some may be obtained from the Tualang tree while some may not be.I cannot definately say honey is from what tree. As for whether genuine or not, the color will sometimes tell you. Some would even tell you that if you put it on a tray and shift the honey around it will form a picture of a nest. I have not done it and cannot say whether it is true or not.

Like the blog says, the most important thing is the trust in your supplier. He can only say whether it is good or not. Lab. tests can ascertain to a certain degree but ultimately each batch of honey have different properties. In one batch the honey may be sweeter, strong aroma and another batch it will have some "masam" taste. I have spoken to Prof. Kamaruddin of Un. Malaya and he says that even it is genuine honey but if not properly kept, it will be more detreimental to health as if exposed to strong sunlight the honey can turn cancerous. Thus I have therefore ignore promoting on how good my honey is. I use myself as living proof and let the readers decide. My pricing is low because I want everyone to enjoy it and not to profit from it. I only got my supply last week and it is going to finish soon.

My only commitment is that I can assured you that this is not synthetic honey.
