Not better than Amy Ryan and Cate Blanchett though. I thought these 2 were the more deserving winners.

Oscars for the past few years has been boring as hell and nothing memorable at all. Bring back Steve Martin or Billy Crystal please.

Maybe they just didn't have enough time to write and prepare, what with the strike and all.

Once won best song! Probably my favourite movie of 2007.

It'll probably take another 10 years before another movie like Silence Of The Lambs sweeping all the 5 major awards. American Beauty almost did it in 1999, and they sure damn deserved it. The Academy owes the Oscar to Annette Bening!

O' Toole none, Pacino ONE and I think he deserved TWO more. Serpico and Dog Day not getting? WTF!

And Liam Neeson not getting one? I could go on and on regarding the travesties of the Academy Awards tongue.gif

And who's the doll in your avatar? Must google biggrin.gif

None of them deserved, espeically 'Best Editing'. Had it been an award for 'Most Editing' instead however...

Seriously, it doesn't deserve accolades for sound? Well never mind most editing, the editing did make Bourne a tight gripping movie. I loved the quick cuts myself smile.gif

How can you not recognize that avatar, i'm dissapointed with you tongue.gif

TBH, Pacino was nominated with some strong contenders most of the time, but we all know he's a great actor, he doesn't need Oscars to tell us that.

I honestly feel Best Editing should go to No Country, but Bourne wasn't a bad winner anyway. They deserved the other 2 though.

Against Transformers? Hell no.

I believe for the editing, its not just about the aesthetic or pace, but as to how well the movie holds together. There's is nothing wrong with Ultimatum's editing, its just nothing special to deserve an Oscar, good as it was. Its often given to something which tackles a bigger challenge, like say, Black Hawk Down (where the great editing makes it possible to follow what is going on despite the constant onscreen action involving many groups of soldiers who all look mighty similar with their gear and covered in dust)

I have seen both in the cineplex and I thought Ultimatum had better sound.

This has to be the first time in a long time that the Oscar winner for best picture has not won best editing.

Schoonmaker won for the Aviator iirc, and Scorsese surely missed out on that one. wink.gif
