QUOTE(DEVICLOT @ Mar 4 2009, 04:11 PM) How the checked that the connection was locked? Yes its correct, that is likely resulted by the signal from source not locked by the DAC. I suspect this is due to poor design by the chinese product DAC. I doubt it is due to connection problem because i tried tightening the cables but to no avail How to resolve it? You have to turn on the DAC first before the CD player. Then switch to the coaxial/optical that you plan to use. Then only you turn on the CD player. You will notice a click sound once the signal from CD player's is locked by the DAC. The above steps work for me.

Hi Seniors,
Just got my hands on a second hand Zero. If I wanna use it as a pre-amp, do I press the "Preamp" button to activate it (light on)? Or should I leave it off (light off)?
Thank you...

I can't get the ZERO play 24bit/192000Hz sampling rate wihout crackling sound via optical tosslink, but I can get it nicely with coaxial, is this normal? The max I can go with tosslink is only 24bit/96000Hz.
Should I get new tosslink?

My setup is actually PC/Foobar/Wasapi/Realtek SC -> SPDIF -> Zero. Seniors, please advise. Thanks.
